I came to know Jdance Atelier via a friend a year ago and that was really a blessing in disguised . I’ve been looking for someone who could help me to improve my belly dance techniques, finally I found teacher Joey. Prior to that , I learnt from numerous teachers be it online or offline. I found myself taking a longer period of time to understand the technical parts of some moves in belly dance. My previous dance experiences in other dance genres were part of the hindrances that delayed my learning process . Till I met teacher Joey, who has a strong foundation in belly dance knowledge coupling with many years of coaching experiences , she would find ways to explain in details , in drawing , sometimes with objects that she could get hold of from the studio, just to make me understand and execute the moves / techniques correctly. I’ve never seen a teacher as such , that teaching with so much passions, patience and with big heart. Learning from teacher Joey for merely a year, not only that I saw the good changes in myself , people around me have been singing praises and affirmed me that I’ve improved so much. This is absolutely very motivating! As one of the new comer to the school, I was so grateful to be given the opportunities to perform my single solo and also a group dance during the school galas. Stage experiences are very important for dancers in cultivating a sense of confidence and self fulfillment, besides dancing in the studio.
