Our 12 year old child needed to upgrade his violin in size from a 3/4 to full, and quality from a beginner to something better. We casually tried out some violins at several violin shops and felt most comfortable at Stradivari Strings. Rita is super knowledgeable of the instruments--both musically and technically--and guided my child through his violin and violin bow selection process. She listened to what my musician's preferences are and expectations of his instrument and presented him with the different violins for him to try. She encouraged my violinist to try as many violins to find the one that he enjoys playing most and the sound he likes best. After selecting the violin, Rita curated some bows to pair with the violin. We highly recommend Stradivari Strings for your next violin, or cello...We saw cellos there at the shop too. It was such an amazing experience with Rita.

I would like to express my sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Rita at Stradivari Strings Singapore for such an exceptional and memorable experience in terms of cello and bow selection. From the moment we arrived, Rita was incredibly patient, generous with her time, and deeply attentive to our needs. She spent nearly two hours with us, carefully and clearly explaining the different cello makes, histories, and tonal qualities of the cellos, helping us understand what to listen for and how each instrument responds.Rita thoughtfully guided us through blind testing of several cellos, allowing us to focus purely on sound and feel rather than appearance or price. This approach was both enlightening and empowering, especially for someone navigating such an important decision. Throughout the entire process, she offered honest, practical suggestions that were well within our budget, always ensuring we felt comfortable and informed. There was never any pressure to commit to a purchase, only genuine support and encouragement to take the time needed to make the right choice. What truly sets Rita apart is her warmth and approachability combined with deep expertise. She is thoughtful, friendly, and exceptionally knowledgeable, and her passion for music and instruments is evident in the care she takes with each customer. She listened carefully, answered every question with clarity, and created an atmosphere that felt welcoming rather than transactional. Thank you, Rita, for your professionalism, kindness, and integrity. Your patience and guidance made what could have been an overwhelming process both enjoyable and meaningful. Stradivari Strings Singapore is truly fortunate to have someone of your calibre, and I would not hesitate to recommend Rita to anyone seeking expert guidance and a genuinely supportive experience.

We had a wonderful experience at Stradivari Strings selecting violin and violin bow for my nephew, thanks to Rita’s exceptional service. She patiently took the time to explain the differences between each violin and bow, helping my nephew try them one by one until he found the perfect fit. Her knowledge and kindness made the process smooth and enjoyable. We also had a 3/4 violin string and bridge fixed during our visit. Rita clearly explained the condition of our bridge and the different types of strings available, which helped us make an informed choice. We truly appreciate her professionalism, patience, and genuine care. Highly recommended!

i had a wonderful experience starting saxophone lessons with Mr Cheong at Stradivari Strings. He is highly experienced and knowledgeable in saxophone. During our weekly saxophone class, he teaches with great patience and encouragement. He empowers students by getting us playing songs from the very start, and he also takes the time to create personalised song sheets to support our learning.

I had been considering taking up a musical instrument again after many years away from music. I wanted to try something new—the cello—but it felt like a huge commitment. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to invest the time and money into something that might only be a short-lived interest. My sister searched for Stradivari Strings, and that’s how I got in touch with Rita, along with a few other music schools. From the very beginning, Rita was incredibly helpful and patient. During the cello selection process, she showed great professionalism and encouraged me to reconnect with music. She took the time to curate a cello that suited me. Initially, I was still hesitant, especially because of the financial commitment, but she reassured me that it would be worth it. Since then, I’ve purchased a beautiful cello from her and started cello lessons with Clynton, who has been just as patient and supportive as I slowly learn the instrument."

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Tees Violin Studio charge per session?

Tees Violin Studio is listed at the mid-range ($$) price point for Singapore's private music tuition market, though specific per-session or monthly package rates are not publicly listed and should be confirmed directly with the studio. Violin tuition in Singapore typically ranges from S$40–80 per session for group classes and S$60–150 or more for one-to-one lessons, depending on the instructor's experience and lesson duration. Ask whether fees are charged per session, on a monthly package, or by term, and confirm whether a separate materials or examination entry fee applies. Some studios also offer a discounted trial class before a full term commitment. See the full Music Schools cost guide for Singapore →

Can I try a class before committing?

Many violin studios in Singapore offer a trial class — either at a reduced rate or at the standard session price — before asking students to sign up for a term. This is worth requesting directly from Tees Violin Studio when you enquire. A trial class lets you assess whether the teaching style suits the student's age and temperament, whether the pace and repertoire are at the right level, and whether the instructor communicates clearly with both student and parent. For younger children especially, the first session is as much about comfort and engagement as it is about technique. Come prepared with any previous lesson history or grade certificates if applicable, and note how the instructor explains concepts and gives feedback.

What are the tutor's credentials at Tees Violin Studio?

Specific instructor credentials for Tees Violin Studio are not listed in the public directory data. When enquiring, it is reasonable to ask about the instructor's formal training background — for example, whether they hold a music degree or diploma, their experience teaching students at your child's level, and their familiarity with the ABRSM or Trinity Guildhall examination syllabuses if grade progression is a goal. A strong violin teacher will typically have conservatoire or university-level training and a track record of preparing students for graded examinations or ensemble performance. If the studio has multiple instructors, ask which teacher would be assigned and whether that assignment is consistent from term to term.
