Very grateful to Dr Boo for bringing back life to Mimi! We had adopted Mimi many years back, but despite her love for going on walks, she was often afraid of running and exploring like a healthy dog would. Mimi's eyes were both cloudy and prevented her from seeing clearly. That was until she underwent cataract surgery to save one of her eyes in 2022. Dr Boo's patience in explaining the risks and follow-up care for Mimi assured us to carry out the operation. My family is very blessed to say that through these 4 years, Mimi's eye is still functioning well with the right medication Dr. Boo prescribed. It has taken us 3 years to write this review, and today, my wife and I finally want to express our deepest gratitude to Dr. Boo, Dr Jelisa and the wonderful team at the Eye Specialist for Animals. Back in 2022, you operated on our 14-year-old dog, Buffy, to remove the cataract in her left eye. Even when complications arose and she needed a second procedure, one that unexpectedly cut short your husband’s birthday celebration, you never hesitated even on a public holiday. You showed compassion, dedication, and incredible professionalism at every step. Buffy passed on 15 November 2025 from old age, 3 years after her eye surgery. Because of you, she enjoyed perfect vision right up to her final day. She could see her food, walk confidently wherever she wanted, and most importantly, look at us with the same loving eyes we had known all her life. Throughout Buffy’s journey, many people touched our hearts with their care and kindness towards Buffy. You are truly one of them. Thank you for giving her the gift of sight, for giving us 3 more years of seeing her bright and happy, and for the love and care you continue to give to so many other dogs. Truly a specialist in animal eye care, I feel confident entrusting my pets’ eye health to the doctors here. I have consulted both Dr. Gladys and Dr. Jelisa. Dr. Gladys is highly knowledgeable and was able to accurately pinpoint the right treatment plan for my cat, while Dr. Jelisa thoughtfully shared important considerations for caring for my senior cat and explained the possible implications of the medication given his existing health conditions. It is extremely reassuring to know my cats are in such capable hands, supported by attentive doctors and nurses. Unfortunately, across several visits, my experience with the reception staff has not matched the high standard of care provided by the medical team. In particular, one receptionist, came across as lacking professionalism and empathy, qualities that are especially important in a veterinary specialist setting. Our interactions felt unnecessarily assertive and dismissive, and there appeared to be little effort to understand or accommodate my situation as we were out of our medication soon. I was unable to bring my cat in for a follow-up sooner due to a recent deterioration in his health and travel-related anxiety that have impacted his wellbeing. During these exchanges with her, I felt unsupported and quite helpless, ultimately having to bring him in despite my concerns. I appreciate that a last minute appointment was arranged for me and my issue has been resolved. I will continue returning for follow-up care because of the excellent doctors, but I sincerely hope the clinic can improve its front-line customer service. As the first point of contact for clients, the reception team plays a crucial role in shaping the overall experience, and tightening this aspect would greatly enhance an otherwise outstanding practice. Dr Gladys Boo has been a wonderful and patient doctor and the entire staff have been marvellous. My dog Ginger was diagnosed early and had to undergo cataract surgery followed by retinal detachment surgery. Throughout the process we received excellent care and support from everyone at The Eye Specialist for Animals clinic. Ginger recovered quite quickly and has been doing very well since the procedures. We are truly grateful to Dr Boo and the whole team for their professionalism and compassion. I highly recommend them.

Our 11-year-old Mini Schnauzer, Nimbus, was diagnosed with diabetes in January 2024 and started insulin treatment in February 2024. In April 2024, he suddenly became blind in both eyes due to cataracts. Dr. Gladys, Dr. Jelissa, and the wonderful team acted quickly and performed cataract surgery. They removed Nimbus’s damaged lenses and implanted artificial ones. Remarkably, his vision was restored within just a day or two. For the next two years, Nimbus remained on regular maintenance care and never experienced any complications from the surgery. If your dog has diabetes and develops cataracts, resulting in blurry vision or blindness, please do not hesitate to consider cataract surgery. It does require patience—administering multiple eye drops and managing the financial cost—but it is truly worth it. Being able to give our furry companions the gift of sight again is priceless. We are deeply grateful to the team at The Eye Specialist for Animals for the compassion, dedication, and excellent care they showed Nimbus. Nimbus sadly passed away suddenly last week due to a health complication, but his vision never deteriorated after the surgery. We miss him dearly.
