About "The Music Academy"
The Music Academy is a music school based at Marina Square in the Raffles Boulevard area, offering music education to students across Singapore. It holds a KakiList verified status, and carries a Google rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 40 reviews — a moderate sample that provides a reasonable directional signal. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier ($$), though specific session or monthly fees are not publicly listed.
Families and students considering enrolment should begin by enquiring about level and syllabus fit — whether lessons are aligned to ABRSM, Trinity, or a recreational curriculum — and clarifying whether group or one-to-one tuition is available for the instrument of interest. It is worth asking about trial class availability and cost, the term commitment expected, and whether lessons are conducted in-person at the Marina Square centre or online. Parents of younger learners may also wish to confirm the minimum age requirement and the teaching approach for beginners before committing to a package.
To take the next step, contact The Music Academy by phone or via the enquiry form on their listing to ask about current availability, session fees, and whether a trial class can be arranged before a term commitment is made.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
I was warmly greeted by Mr. Keith Kwok upon arrival and invited to take a seat while waiting for my lesson to begin. Once class started, the energy shifted completely, I was genuinely impressed by how professional and structured his teaching style was. You can tell he’s passionate and deeply knowledgeable about the craft. It was a fun and engaging lesson taught by Mr Kwok. As someone with no experience/background in piano, I was able to play a song by the end of the class! SOMA is easy to find and accessible for both drivers and those coming on foot. Parking is per-entry after 5 PM on weekdays, which is a big plus for evening lessons. Overall 10/10 experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to improve their music fundamentals or performance confidence.
My experience at SOMA as an international student was amazing! The staff and faculty go to great lengths to ensure a comfortable environment for students. The head Mr. Keith Kwok is very involved and attends to each student personally.
I completed the Diploma in Music Production and Engineering in 2022, as well as took several of their songwriting courses. The school faculty are knowledgeable and approachable, and the course is well-structured to facilitate learning. The most important thing is to be proactive and independent. Their courses reward students who are willing to put in the time and effort to explore beyond the classroom.
While looking for a school to learn music production, SOMA stood out because of the credentials of their instructors. Throughout my time as a Diploma of Music Production and Engineering student there, I felt inspired, motivated, and supported by the school. Every module was enriching and exciting for me. I had really great instructors who would go out of their way to guide us. Highlights of the course are definitely the visit to Star Theatre, the Foley project, and the recording and music production sessions helmed by us students. The extra masterclasses, workshops and events also broadened my knowledge of the industry and aided in my networking. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to learn about audio engineering and music production.
I must say that I’m so impressed with Soma school of music. Not only that they offer great music lessons, instruments, facilities. The staffs and boss are the kindest people. Highly recommend all music and arts lovers to go!! 💖💕

The Music Academy displays a mid-range pricing indicator ($$), but specific per-session or monthly fees are not publicly listed. In the Singapore music school market, individual instrument lessons typically range from S$40–S$100 per session depending on the instrument, group versus one-to-one format, and the teacher's qualifications. Group classes are generally more affordable, while one-to-one lessons with experienced or examination-focused tutors sit at the higher end. It is common for music schools to offer term-based or monthly packages rather than standalone session pricing. Ask whether a trial class is available and what it costs, whether materials or examination entry fees are charged separately, and whether sibling or multi-lesson discounts apply. Many music schools in Singapore offer a trial class — sometimes at a reduced fee, sometimes at the standard session rate — before you commit to a term or monthly package. A trial is a useful opportunity to assess whether the teaching style suits the student's learning pace, whether the level is appropriate, and whether the student is genuinely engaged with the instrument. When attending a trial, observe how the teacher structures the session, how feedback is given, and whether the student leaves motivated. For younger children, also note how the teacher manages attention and encourages progress. Contact The Music Academy directly to confirm their trial class policy and any associated cost before making a booking.
Specific tutor credentials for The Music Academy are not publicly listed in the available information. When enquiring, it is reasonable to ask whether teachers hold a music degree or diploma from a recognised conservatoire or university, their grade or performance background on the relevant instrument, and how long they have been teaching. For families preparing students for ABRSM or Trinity examinations, it is also worth confirming that the tutor is familiar with the specific syllabus requirements for the grade being targeted. Some schools employ a mix of full-time staff and freelance tutors, so ask whether the assigned teacher is consistent across lessons. Contact The Music Academy directly to request information on the qualifications and experience of the teacher who would be assigned to your lessons.
