Families and adult learners exploring Thunder Rock School would typically begin by enquiring about the instrument or programme that fits their current level and goals — whether that is beginner keyboard, guitar for a teenager, or vocal training for an adult. It is worth clarifying which syllabuses the school prepares students for, such as ABRSM, Trinity, or Rockschool, and whether lessons are offered one-to-one or in small groups. Prospective students should also ask about lesson frequency, term commitments, and whether the school accommodates both weekday and weekend slots. Location on Upper Thomson Road is accessible for residents in the north-central corridor, though the islandwide coverage indication suggests some flexibility may be available.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you, Teacher Joy! We just want to express our deep appreciation for all that you've done. Before we found you, we were on quite the search to find the right electric guitar instructor—and we're so glad we found you. You're truly a perfect match for our daughter. After a discouraging experience in her school band, where she played the clarinet, she lost her motivation and confidence. Signing her up for electric guitar lessons was our way of lifting her spirits and supporting her interest in music—and you've made all the difference. Thank you for your incredible patience, especially since she had no prior musical background. You've made learning fun and engaging, even teaching her songs from her favorite band, which she absolutely loves. We’re so grateful for your guidance and encouragement. 🙏🏻 Highly recommended!
Thunder Rock has the most experienced and nurturing teachers you can find in the music industry. They are committed in building a community for their students and provides platforms for students to perform as well. My vocal teacher Rachel is able to pinpoint my mistakes and explain the vocal techniques in an easy to understand manner. I can't emphasize how much the school is just so passionate for music and wanting the best for their students
Thunder Rock School has been such a special part of my daughter’s journey. She started vocal lessons a little shy and unsure of herself…in the last two years we’ve watched her grow in confidence, skill and joy. Her teacher, Rachel, has been incredibly kind, patient and encouraging, always bringing out the best in her while making each lesson fun and inspiring! The whole team creates such a warm and welcoming environment. It is a community that cares. We’re so grateful to have found Thunder Rock School.
Have been learning electric guitar at TRS with teacher Daniel for close to one year. Definitely recommend it, especially for adult students like me. I like the atmosphere. Besides teacher Daniel, I also had interacted with different teachers here, from all of them I could genuinely feel their love and passion for music. Like in the lessons, it’s not only about teaching techniques, they also share the perspectives and thinking as musicians themselves, about the music itself, the stage, performing experience etc., which I truly appreciate.
I’ve been a student of Thunder Rock School since 2022 and I absolutely ❤️ going for my lessons each week. The teachers are all practicing musicians and highly skilled at their respective instruments. They have so much relevant experience and knowledge to share and know how to make class enjoyable for the students. The school has a genuinely authentic vibe and feels like a little family that encourages and inspires you to go further in your musical journey. The annual band program also brings students together to experience how it feels like to play in a band and is a must-try if you sign up! Great for aspiring musicians or if you simply wanna sing/ strum/ drum your stress away🥰

Thunder Rock School displays a $$ price tier, but specific per-session or monthly package rates are not publicly listed. Music school pricing in Singapore typically ranges from S$40–80 per session for group classes and S$60–150 or more for one-to-one lessons, depending on the instrument, the teacher's experience, and lesson duration. When enquiring, ask whether fees are charged per session, as a monthly package, or by term. It is also worth confirming whether there is a registration fee, a materials or book charge, or a separate examination entry fee if you plan to sit for ABRSM, Trinity, or Rockschool grades. Many music schools in Singapore offer a trial lesson — sometimes at a reduced rate, sometimes at the standard per-session price — before asking students to sign up for a full term. A trial gives you a chance to assess whether the teaching style suits the student, whether the level is appropriately pitched, and whether the student stays engaged throughout. When contacting Thunder Rock School, ask directly whether a trial session is available for your chosen instrument, what it costs, and what the term commitment looks like afterwards. For younger children especially, a single trial lesson can reveal a great deal about fit before you invest in a longer programme.
Tutor qualifications are not listed publicly for Thunder Rock School. When enquiring, it is reasonable to ask about the lead teacher's formal qualifications — for example, a diploma or degree in music performance or education — and their practical teaching experience, particularly with the age group and instrument relevant to you. If you are preparing a student for graded examinations such as ABRSM or Trinity, ask specifically whether the tutor has experience coaching candidates for those syllabuses and what the school's historical pass or distinction rates look like. Contact Thunder Rock School directly to request this information before committing to a term.
