I have brought four of my hamsters there already. The most recent is my dwarf hamster, Dumpling who had a lump on his arm. The staff and Dr were very attentive, handling him with care and providing clear explanations throughout the process. It has been a month since the surgery and Dumpling's fur grew back and he seems to be doing well! I truly appreciate the professionalism and kindness shown by the team. Highly recommend this vet for small pets!

I found Toa Payoh via a Facebook terrapin owners group on vet recommendation. 🐢My previous experience with vets in Singapore is that they are either uncomfortable handling terrapins or give very surface level advice, hence why I'm looking to switch. I love Dr. Daniel's no-nonsense and honest communication during consultation, especially when it comes to animal husbandry, how much responsibility is on the pet owners' hands, and the pet's environment. I can understand it might be a bit blunt compared to other vets based on my experience, I feel he really embodied the emphasis on the responsibilities portion of being a pet owner. This dynamic is well-balanced by the clinic's nurses, who bring a sense of levity to the mood. They are approachable, empathic, and passionate about their jobs. They are happy to share about their own experiences and offer very actionable advice on care. I also greatly appreciate the compliments and the sense of curiosity the nurses gave to my turtles. The compliments they gave can bring out a sense of pride to any pet owners, as it usually directed to something only the pet owner themselves will notice about their pets! (They correctly guess the amount of enrichment I gave to my turtles based on their behaviour!) The clinic's rate is also a very competitive price and reasonable compared to other vets that take terrapins. The clinic cat is nice too.

Have been visiting Dr Daniel for my pet poodle for a couple of years now. I’ve consulted for various reasons, for yearly vaccinations, regular blood tests/health screening, dog sterilisation, skin allergy. Dr Daniel takes his time to address my concerns, and offers solutions. The staff are Friendly too, ensuring my poodle is in good hands. The location is in an industrial area which is a little inconvenient but will definitely continue to visit Dr Daniel and team for matters related to my pet poodle. Thank you!

A few days ago , my guinea pig had blood in his urine ,so I brought him to the vet to check on his situation ( i suspected UTI so I informed the vet ) He was still running and eating well at that time ( which is on 29th Nov ,that is the same day I brought cupcake to the vet ) He was given Baytril and Metacam. And after eating for three days ,he stopped eating hay and pellets .I immediately rush back to the vet which he then told me there is nothing much he can do for me but refer me to beecroft. I requested for some gut probiotics and multi vitamins to help him with gut mobility. When I reached home within a hr, he started shaking badly , had a sudden cardiac arrest and passed on. So this is a lesson learnt ,always do your own check online before using the medicine given because there is risk to it that we all might not know as owners. What could work for your guinea pig might not work for mine , I believe Baytril could work for some other guinea pigs but for mine ,it ended up with a cardiac arrest. I regretted not doing a proper check , which cost the death of my beloved pig. Of course ,the doc explained the complications when I brought it back on second visit but wished he could have did it earlier the first time he prescribe the medicine to cupcake. Then I would have tried a little and monitor. I probably figured out the clinic is not that experienced with guinea pigs ,probably prescription given based on theory and not real life experiences . Whatever the vet gives you ,counter check it online . See what side effects it might have. Because if u don't ask , the vet would not let u know what could be the possible side effects that could cost his life.My guinea pig was active and eating before seeing the vet, after he took the medicine the vet prescribed , he died .

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does "Toa Payoh Vets" charge?

Toa Payoh Vets is priced at the mid-range tier ($$), but specific consultation fees are not published on this listing. For a general veterinary clinic in Singapore, a standard consultation typically ranges from S$30 to S$80, with additional charges for diagnostics (blood panels, X-rays), medications, vaccinations, and procedures. Fees can vary meaningfully depending on your pet's species, size, and the complexity of the condition being assessed. Add-ons such as dental scaling, microchipping, or specialist referrals will carry separate fees. It is advisable to ask for an itemised estimate before agreeing to any procedure beyond the initial consultation. Contact Toa Payoh Vets directly by phone or enquiry form for a current fee schedule. What vaccinations does "Toa Payoh Vets" require?

For dogs, core vaccinations typically include the DHPP combination (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza) and rabies. Bordetella (kennel cough) is frequently required by boarding and daycare facilities and is worth keeping current regardless. For cats, the FVRCP combination (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, panleukopenia) forms the core protocol. Most clinics and boarding providers in Singapore require proof that vaccinations are current, generally within the past 12 months, before accepting a pet for boarding or group services. Bring your pet's vaccination booklet or digital records to any appointment. If your pet's vaccinations have lapsed, Toa Payoh Vets will be able to advise on a catch-up schedule during a consultation. Contact the clinic to confirm which records to bring before your visit.

Is "Toa Payoh Vets" licensed and insured?

Veterinary practices in Singapore operate under the purview of the Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS), an agency of the National Parks Board. Registered veterinary surgeons must hold valid licences issued under the Veterinary Surgeons Act. This listing does not include specific licence details, so it is worth confirming with the clinic directly that the attending veterinarians are AVS-registered. For boarding and grooming facilities, AVS licensing is a separate requirement. If Toa Payoh Vets offers any boarding services, ask for their AVS licence number before leaving your pet overnight. Regarding insurance, confirm with the clinic what protocols are in place should a pet become unwell or sustain an injury while under their care. Visit the facility, check the vaccination policy, and confirm insurance before drop-off.
