About Waldorf Steiner Early Years Centre

About "Waldorf Steiner Early Years Centre"

Waldorf Steiner Early Years Centre is a preschool and kindergarten located at 72 Jalan Senang, Singapore 418371, verified by KakiList and registered with ACRA. The centre has received a rating of 4 out of 5 on Google, though this is based on only 4 reviews and should be treated as directional rather than conclusive. Fees are indicated at the mid-range price tier ($$) for the Singapore childcare market.

Families interested in enrolling their child should begin by contacting the centre to enquire about available slots for their intended start month, as places — particularly for younger age groups — can be limited. When you visit the centre, it is worth asking about the daily routine, the infant-to-caregiver ratio, the settling-in period for new children, and what the curriculum approach involves in practice given the Waldorf Steiner philosophy. If your child is a Singapore citizen, you may be eligible for ECDA childcare subsidies; ask the centre whether they participate in the subsidy scheme and which grants apply to your family's situation.

The most practical next step is to reach out via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to check current availability and arrange a centre visit before committing to a registration fee or deposit. Listing data is incomplete — contact "Waldorf Steiner Early Years Centre" directly to confirm details.

Lovely for those looking for a Waldorf preschool/ playgroup, great to see a playgroup that's available until 4yrs old. Great to see the Waldorf techniques in action and learn from it as we attend their playgroup. Pros of the approach that we witnessed: 1. Screen-free (No usage of phones by any adults in the playgroup in front of the children - 1 of the rules of joining the playgroup) 2. Gentle mannered and respectful teachers, 3. Lovely technique of singing songs to help children transition from one activity to another and help them understand the concept of time and how to share. The teacher tells the child that when the song is over, it's another child's turn to have a toy, which helps them mentally prepare for giving up the toy as they don't understand time yet. 4. Children learn practical life activities via imitation and because they are given the choice to do so (or not) rather than top-down instruction where everyone must do the same activity. E.g. make bread, learn to cut fruit, and tidy up. 5. No pressure from adults or the expectation to perform - when making bread children are not asked "What shape do you want to make/ what is it?" As they may not be making any sophisticated shape and just enjoying the kneading process and get pressured from the expectation that they're supposed to make something beautiful (which often they don't yet have the fine motor skills to do so yet). It's a cosy interior, so don't expect anything fancy, but sets children up well with the respectful and gentle approach. Since it's a screen free environment, they're not very active on social media - they don't constantly post pictures of the children online for marketing purposes, which is refreshing. So it may feel like there's not as much information about them online but I do encourage those looking for the Waldorf approach to try it for yourself!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does "Waldorf Steiner Early Years Centre" charge per month?

Monthly fees at "Waldorf Steiner Early Years Centre" are indicated at a mid-range price point for Singapore preschools and kindergartens, but the exact monthly figure is not publicly listed. When you enquire, ask for a full fee breakdown that includes the one-time registration fee, the deposit (typically equivalent to one to two months' fees), as well as any costs for uniforms and personal accident insurance. Childcare and kindergarten fees in Singapore are GST-exempt, so no goods and services tax should be added to your invoice. For context, full-day childcare at private centres in Singapore commonly ranges from around S$1,200 to over S$2,500 per month before subsidies, while kindergarten programmes tend to be lower. Confirm the exact schedule of fees in writing before signing any agreement. See the full childcare cost guide for Singapore →

What subsidies can I claim at "Waldorf Steiner Early Years Centre"?

Singapore citizen children attending an ECDA-licensed childcare centre may be eligible for the Basic Subsidy of up to S$600 per month for infant care or up to S$300 per month for childcare. Working mothers who clock at least 56 hours of work per month may additionally qualify for the Working Mother's Child Care Subsidy. For lower-income households, the Additional Subsidy is income-tested and can bring combined monthly support to as much as S$710 when added to other grants. For kindergarten programmes, the KiFAS (Kindergarten Fee Assistance Scheme) provides means-tested assistance at eligible MOE-registered kindergartens. Singapore Permanent Residents may qualify for partial subsidies. Subsidy amounts are subject to change — always check the ECDA website for the latest figures and confirm with the centre whether they are an ECDA-licensed operator before applying. Note that the centre does not currently list an ECDA licence in its public profile, so this is an important point to verify directly.

Is there a waitlist at "Waldorf Steiner Early Years Centre"?

Demand for preschool and kindergarten places in Singapore can be competitive, particularly for programmes with a distinctive curriculum approach such as Waldorf Steiner. It is advisable to enquire at least three to six months ahead of your intended start date, and for infant care places, up to twelve months in advance is not uncommon at popular centres. January is the main intake month for most Singapore preschools and kindergartens, though mid-year intakes do occur when places become available. To secure a place, centres typically require a registration fee and, upon acceptance, a deposit. Contact "Waldorf Steiner Early Years Centre" directly via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to ask about current availability for your child's age group and preferred start month.
