About Yan Ballet Academy
Yan Ballet Academy is a dance school listed under Education on KakiList, serving students islandwide from its studio at Kallang Wave Mall. The listing is KakiList-verified and registered with ACRA. The academy holds a 4.7-out-of-5 rating on Google, though this is drawn from 13 reviews and should be treated as directional rather than conclusive. Pricing sits in the mid-range band ($$).
Prospective students or parents should enquire about level and syllabus fit — whether the programme is structured for beginners, intermediate, or advanced dancers, and which style of ballet is taught (e.g. RAD, Cecchetti, or freestyle). It is worth asking about group class sizes versus any individual instruction options, term commitment and schedule, and whether there is a trial class available before signing up for a full term. The Kallang Wave location is accessible by MRT via Stadium station, which may be a practical consideration for families travelling from across the island.
To get started, reach out to Yan Ballet Academy via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form on their listing to ask about current class schedules, available levels, and any upcoming intake dates.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
We had a great experience at Yan Ballet (Kallang Wave). The teachers are professional, patient, and very encouraging. My daughter really enjoys the classes and has grown more confident and disciplined. The lessons are engaging, making ballet fun and educational. Highly recommended to join!
Our ballet journey with Yan had been nothing but an amazing experience. It is a very well run school. From the front desk to teachers to the backend team, the community had been very welcoming, caring and nurturing, helping us navigate the competitive ballet path. Fellow parents and teachers from other branches were kind and helpful. They helped foster a very positive and uplifting environment, a testament of the right values imbued by the founder/owners. Thank you and keep up the good work!
Big thanks to Ms Maggie for your professionalism and patience in teaching my daughter and Ms Yvonne for always being so cheerful, welcoming and helpful. They make the weekly lessons very enjoyable. The school’s SOP is also flexible and understanding. Overall a great dance school!
Thanks to the dedicated teachers in YBA, my daughter has improved tremendously since she transferred to YBA four years ago. YBA teachers are very passionate and have strong professional background that really inspires the students. They are very caring while being strict and disciplined. YBA offers ample opportunities for performances, competitions and masterclasses in addition to the RAD curriculum and Elite program. Highly recommended especially for students preparing for vocational school or with a dream of becoming a professional ballerina.
My daughter enjoys her ballet journey with YBA, the very high standard ballet school in SG market, professional and caring teachers, beautiful and high ceiling studios, many outstanding peer dancers…… Ballet is one of most demanding performing arts. Though the teachers are strict and my daughter even shed tears in the class at the beginning, she improved a lot and got good results in RAD exam and competitions. No pain no gain. Thanks YBA teachers inspire her passion for ballet. Really grateful 🙏

Yan Ballet Academy is listed at a mid-range price point ($$), but specific per-session fees are not published on this listing. In the Singapore market, dance class fees typically range from S$30–80 per session for group classes, with monthly or term-based packages often working out to a lower per-session rate. A separate trial class fee may apply before you commit to a full term. It is worth confirming whether materials such as attire, shoes, or examination fees are included or billed separately, and whether sibling or multi-class discounts are available. Contact Yan Ballet Academy directly for a current fee schedule. See the full Dance Schools cost guide for Singapore →
Many ballet schools in Singapore offer a trial class so that students and parents can assess fit before committing to a term. It is worth asking Yan Ballet Academy whether a trial session is available, what the trial fee (if any) is, and which class level would be most appropriate for the student's age and prior experience. During a trial, look out for class size, the teacher's communication style with students, the pace of instruction, and whether the student appears engaged and appropriately challenged. A good fit on these points matters more than proximity or price alone when choosing a dance school for the longer term.
Credential details for the instructors at Yan Ballet Academy are not listed in the available information. For ballet specifically, relevant qualifications to ask about include teaching certifications from recognised examining bodies such as the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) or the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), as well as performance or competition experience where relevant. It is also worth asking whether the syllabus taught leads to formal graded examinations, and whether the instructor has experience teaching the age group or level you are enquiring about. Contact Yan Ballet Academy directly to request this information before committing to a term.
