I started learning ethnic dance at Zhiyun as an adult beginner with no background in Chinese dance. I really enjoy the well-structured course syllabus, with its emphasis on strengthening the fundamental skills required of each genre, then applying them in choreography. The rich syllabus also introduces students to the variety of styles within each genre, which has allowed me to appreciate ethnic dance even more. Instructors Lynn and Zhuo Qin have remarkable accomplishments to their name both as dancers and educators, and it is heartwarming to witness the immense effort and passion they put in their classes and their contributions to the local Chinese dance scene, especially in nurturing young dancers. The studio is bright and welcoming, equipped with gentle flooring, movable barres, conditioning apparatus, and treats for the little ones!
