Prospective students or parents are encouraged to enquire about level and syllabus fit — whether beginner, intermediate, or advanced — as well as class format (group versus one-to-one), term commitment, and scheduling options. It is worth confirming which dance styles are offered, as academies using "Zouk" in their name may specialise in Brazilian Zouk, Latin social dance, or a broader repertoire. Asking about the instructor's background and teaching approach before committing to a term will help ensure the programme suits the student's goals and experience level.
To take the first step, reach out to Zouk Dance Academy via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to ask about current class schedules, availability, and whether a trial class is offered before a term commitment is made.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
decided to give zouk a try this year to expand my understanding of connection in partner dances. despite my initial reservations, jean structured the group class really well to make sure all dancers felt comfortable. she cultivated a strong consent culture from day 1, but also encouraged dancers to explore the beauty of the close hold. i really appreciated her philosophy and passion around the dance. very beginner-friendly and a wonderful introduction to zouk! :)
Joined the Zouk Foundations series having no experience or expectations. Was very pleasantly surprised with how well structured and gradual the teaching was! It really made us feel comfortable taking each baby step towards understanding Zouk from the bottom up
Just completed a zouk foundations course with Jean and looking forward to continuing classes with her. She's an awesome instructor. She breaks complex movements into small steps making it less overwhelming. The class community is friendly and encouraging especially for a newbie.
Jean is an incredible Zouk teacher! Despite it being a Friday night and feeling tired with a chronic backache, her infectious energy and clear methodology made the class truly enjoyable. For the first time, I experienced the magic of communicating with a partner 'beyond words” (pun intended) through dance, which was both exhilarating and enlightening. Her teaching style is easy to follow, allowing everyone to connect deeply with their partners and have a great time while learning this beautiful dance.
I had an amazing experience last night! Jean, my dance instructor, was so patient and approachable. She was able to cater to all of us even though we had different levels of dancing experiences. The lesson was fun and engaging. I highly recommend this class for anyone who needs an introduction to Brazilian zouk. Thank you so much Jean!

Zouk Dance Academy displays a mid-range pricing indicator ($$), but specific per-session or monthly package fees are not publicly listed. Dance schools in Singapore typically charge S$20–60 per group class session or S$80–150 per one-to-one session, with monthly packages often offering a modest discount over pay-per-class rates. Term fees, trial class costs, and any materials or attire requirements are best confirmed directly with the academy before enrolling. Ask whether sibling discounts or multi-class bundle rates apply, and clarify the policy on missed classes and make-up sessions. See the full Dance Schools cost guide for Singapore →
Many dance schools in Singapore offer a trial class — sometimes at a reduced fee or as part of the first session — so it is worth asking Zouk Dance Academy whether this is available before signing up for a full term. A trial gives you the opportunity to assess whether the teaching style, pace, and class level are a good match, and to see how the instructor engages with students of varying experience. When attending a trial, pay attention to whether the content is appropriately challenging, whether corrections are given clearly, and whether the atmosphere suits the student's learning style. Wear comfortable, flexible clothing and confirm in advance if any specific footwear is required.
Specific instructor credentials for Zouk Dance Academy are not publicly listed. In the dance school context, relevant qualifications may include formal dance training, performance experience, competition backgrounds, or certifications from bodies such as the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) or equivalent organisations, depending on the style taught. It is advisable to ask the academy directly about the lead instructor's training background, years of teaching experience, and familiarity with any specific syllabus or examination pathway if that is relevant to your goals. For younger students especially, understanding the instructor's approach to teaching children is an important part of assessing fit.
