About 4Paws Dog Training

About 4Paws Dog Training

4Paws Dog Training is a pet training provider operating islandwide across Singapore, listed at the S$$ price range and verified by KakiList, meaning a real person has confirmed their operating details and contact channels. They hold a 5-out-of-5 rating on Google, though this is based on 12 reviews, so it is best treated as a directional signal rather than a statistically robust measure.

When engaging 4Paws Dog Training, it helps to have your dog's basic details ready — breed, size, age, and temperament — as these will inform which training programme is appropriate. Vaccination records are typically required before any in-person sessions begin, so ensure your dog's DHPP and rabies jabs are current. It is worth asking whether an initial assessment or trial visit is available so the trainer can observe your dog's behaviour before committing to a programme. Clarify whether sessions are conducted at your home, at a fixed location such as their Kim Seng Road address, or at a suitable outdoor space, and whether a recurring schedule suits your availability.

To get started, reach out to 4Paws Dog Training via WhatsApp, phone, or their enquiry form to discuss your dog's specific needs, confirm session format and scheduling, and ask about vaccination requirements before the first visit.

I engaged Theresa’s help as my adopted dog has leash reactivity and used to lunge at other dogs during walks. Theresa patiently taught us pattern games to manage the reactivity and training strategies to help my dog learn and gain more confidence. She also taught me how to do cooperative care for my dog. She is a very patient and knowledgeable trainer. And if my dog, Kara can give the rating, she will give 10 stars instead! My dog and I truly enjoyed all our training sessions.

Theresa is a warm, generous and experienced trainer. When I first got this puppy he was a handful of energy with a not much attention span. He would get distracted and be sniffing out a trail. Once training started with Theresa, his behaviour improved in leaps and bounds. He really learnt to focus through Theresa’s training exercises. His behaviour also improved during his walks out in the park and around the house. Theresa is a trainer who gives you with the fundamentals and reasons behind the training. My puppy really loved the training sessions and was always keen to learn more and do more with Theresa. I would recommend Theresa to dog owners who want to build a good foundation of training with their dogs, and have the tools to continue with their own training even after the end of Theresa’s training sessions.

Theresa was very patient and professional and taught great skills to set us up for success with our 5mo cavapoo puppy. We engaged her soon after we brought our puppy home and through each weekly sessions we can see how much our puppy has been building confidence and improved! Theresa gave us the confidence as new puppy owners to help our puppy start right with her generous sharing of tips, materials and troubleshooting with our queries. If you are looking to engage a professional to help you and your puppy start right, Theresa from Paws In The City is definitely highly recommended!

Theresa is an absolute joy to work with. I got in touch with her even before I brought my puppy Kishmish home. I wanted to make sure my Poodle-Chihuahua mix gets the right training from the get go and I couldn't be happier. A massive thanks to Theresa, my puppy Kishmish LOVED the training sessions and always wanted to learn more. Both Kishmish and I used to look forward to our Sunday sessions because it was so much FUN! As a first time puppy owner, I was clueless about so many things. Theresa not only allayed my fears but taught me so much - from de-sensetizing my puppy to different sounds and scenarios and teaching her foundational cues, to leash walking and paying attention to the body language of my pup. Most importantly, Theresa made me realize that training need not be stressful. It's one of the most effective ways to learn your pup's language and communicate better with your fur kid! Theresa was always available to answer any questions and used to send valuable reading material before sessions, which helped me help my puppy. I am grateful that Kishmish received positive training from day 1 and she got such a lovely teacher! Kishmish's training is now over but had there been more sessions, I would have signed up asap.

Paws in the city designed a bespoke curriculum for my special needs dog, Bronte. Bronte is a senior dog, rescued from a puppy mill. She had a lot of issues with reactivity and is also deaf. Theresa created a sign language for Bronte- which is incredibly effective. We did a wide range of exercises and each session was impeccably prepared. I received follow up notes and homework assignments and Theresa gladly received my progress reports. She was so kind, patient and understanding, Bronte absolutely loves her. Initially, Bronte was more a problem for me than a pleasure, I had found it so hard to bond with her, I’m writing this review with her asleep on my lap, my best little friend and star pupil. Thank you, Paws in the city!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does 4Paws Dog Training charge?

4Paws Dog Training is listed at the S$$ price range, which typically reflects a mid-market positioning for pet training services in Singapore. Per-session training fees in the Singapore market generally vary based on whether you opt for group obedience classes or private one-to-one sessions, with private sessions commanding a premium. Additional variables can include the complexity of the behaviour being addressed, the breed and size of the dog, and the number of sessions in a package. It is advisable to confirm the full fee structure directly with 4Paws Dog Training before committing, including whether there are separate charges for travel if sessions are conducted at your location. What vaccinations does 4Paws Dog Training require?

Most reputable dog training providers in Singapore require proof of core vaccinations before any in-person sessions, whether group or private. For dogs, this typically means an up-to-date DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza) vaccination and a valid rabies jab. Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccination is also commonly required for group class settings where dogs are in close proximity. Vaccination records are generally expected to be current within the past 12 months. Bring your dog's vaccination booklet or a vet-issued certificate to your first session. Confirm the exact requirements with 4Paws Dog Training directly, as their policy may differ slightly depending on the session format.

Is 4Paws Dog Training licensed and insured?

4Paws Dog Training is verified by KakiList, meaning their operating details and contact channels have been confirmed by a real person. However, no regulatory licences are currently listed on their profile. In Singapore, the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) under the National Parks Board administers licensing for certain pet-related facilities, particularly boarding and grooming operations; training services are not subject to the same mandatory AVS licensing framework. It is nonetheless prudent to ask 4Paws Dog Training directly about their insurance coverage and what protocol they follow in the event a dog is injured or distressed during a session. Visit the facility or training venue, check the vaccination policy, and confirm insurance before drop-off.
