About Academia
Academia is a private tuition provider operating islandwide from its address at 20 College Road, Singapore 169856. The listing is KakiList verified, meaning operating details and contact channels have been confirmed by a real person. It holds a Google rating of 4.4 out of 5 across 48 reviews — a moderate sample that offers a reasonable directional signal. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier ($$), though a specific per-session or monthly fee has not been published.
Families considering Academia would typically begin by enquiring about level and syllabus fit — whether the tutor covers Primary, Secondary, JC, or other streams, and whether the approach aligns with MOE, IGCSE, IB, or another curriculum. From there, parents usually ask about class format (group tuition or one-to-one), session frequency, and whether lessons are conducted at the centre or online. It is worth clarifying term commitment expectations and any trial class arrangements before signing up, so that both teaching style and pacing can be assessed against the child's needs.
To take the next step, use the phone or enquiry form listed on this page to ask about available slots for your child's level, confirm the session format and fees, and request a trial class to assess fit before committing to a term.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
I went for an event at this place, and actually lost my visitor pass. I thought I was cooked but turns out, the security and housekeeping team was AMAZING. They didn't scold me, instead were highly professional in solving the issue and was so friendly and warm. Big shoutout to Mr Manjeet (I think he is team lead) he was so warm, forgiving for my mistake, and helped me with the necessary actions when I misplaced my card. I will definitely come back here again! Thank you to the housekeeping and security team again!
A venue equipped for conferences and workshops.
Recently, the building management banned bicycle parking in unused and out-of-sight areas outside the building. Employees are now forced to park in an open, unsecured area where locking bicycles is impossible. The location is also on a slope and without proper support, making it difficult to keep bikes upright instead of falling on ground, especially in windy conditions. This decision disregards the needs of employees who rely on cycling for their commute and shows how little the management cares about the working class.
Quiet place to have coffee and food. Recommended for visitors who wants a place to chill
Review : August 2022 Great building to talk about medical adventures and play sick 😷 🙂 for others to learn how to work 🙃 🙂 professionally. Fees and charges are charged according to impressive set-ups. That's the vital importance of such infrastructure Have witnessed good medical care in the past decades unlike now with huge impressive infrastructure but unlike the past modest professional work 👏 Hope you'll understand what's the Academy Academia is meant for.

Academia displays a mid-range pricing indicator ($$) but has not published a specific per-session or monthly fee. In the Singapore private tuition market, group sessions typically range from S$30–80 per session depending on level and subject, while one-to-one tutoring can run S$60–200 or more per session. Some providers bundle fees into monthly or term packages rather than per-session rates. Beyond the base tuition fee, it is worth asking whether there are charges for materials, worksheets, or assessment papers, and whether a registration or administrative fee applies. A trial class, if offered, may be free or charged at a reduced rate. See the full Private Tutors cost guide for Singapore →
Many private tuition providers and tuition centres in Singapore offer a trial class so that parents and students can assess fit before committing to a monthly or term package. It is worth asking Academia directly whether a trial session is available, whether it is complimentary or charged at the standard rate, and what the cancellation or make-up policy looks like. During a trial, pay attention to whether the tutor's explanations are pitched at the right level, how the student responds to the teaching style, and whether the pace matches your child's learning needs. A single session is usually enough to judge engagement and teaching approach before making a longer commitment.
Academia has not published specific tutor credentials on this listing. When enquiring, it is reasonable to ask whether tutors hold a degree in the relevant subject, whether any have NIE training or prior MOE teaching experience, and how many years they have been teaching at the relevant level. For syllabus alignment, confirm whether the tutor is familiar with the specific examination board your child is sitting — MOE SEAB, Cambridge IGCSE, IB, or otherwise — as this affects both content coverage and exam technique. If Academia deploys different tutors for different subjects or levels, ask to know the credentials of the specific person who will be teaching your child.
If Academia isn't the right fit, these are other private tutors providers on KakiList worth shortlisting. All are independently listed — no affiliate fees, no "featured" sponsorships.
