About All That Jazz Dance Academy

About All That Jazz Dance Academy

All That Jazz Dance Academy offers holiday camp programmes in dance and related performing arts, based at 36 Prinsep Street in the Bras Basah area and serving families islandwide. The academy is KakiList-verified and ACRA-registered. It holds a Google rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 8 reviews — a small sample, so treat this as directional rather than conclusive. Pricing is positioned in the mid-range ($$), though specific fee details are not publicly listed and should be confirmed directly.

Families interested in enrolling a child will want to enquire about which holiday camp runs suit their child's age group and dance experience, whether the camp is structured around a specific style (jazz, contemporary, ballet, hip-hop, or a mixed syllabus), and whether places are capped per intake. It is worth asking whether a trial session is available before committing to a full camp, what the group size looks like, and whether the curriculum leads to any showcase or end-of-camp performance. Clarify the session schedule, duration, and what, if anything, children need to bring or wear.

To check availability and reserve a place for an upcoming holiday camp, contact All That Jazz Dance Academy directly by phone or through the enquiry form on their listing.

We moved to Singapore in August 2023, and our daughter Colette fell in love with ATJ after her very first trial! She auditioned soon after and has since been part of the All Stars, Musical Theatre, Ballet, and Commercial teams across two incredible seasons. From the beginning, the admin and teaching staff have been nothing short of supportive. They genuinely care about the dancers, not just filling classes. They often reminded me that Colette could scale back, but she absolutely loves it and refuses to drop any genre or solo! Even as a newcomer, she was given opportunities to shine based on her effort, not seniority. When she was offered a solo, the solo development sessions and performance opportunities helped her grow with confidence. It meant so much to us that the owner, Vicky, even took time out of her busy schedule to support Colette with some clean up sessions. That level of personal care really stood out to us as first-time comp parents. Now, as we prepare to return to Canada, the support we’ve received from ATJ has only reinforced what a rare and wonderful place this is. Several teachers even reached out to their contacts to help us find a new studio for Colette. We’ve felt nothing but encouragement and kindness throughout. The icing on the cake is that she was accepted into every program she auditioned for, ATJ provided her with exceptional training! ATJ has been so much more than a dance school, it’s been a second home, and truly the highlight of our time in Singapore. We’re deeply grateful to have been part of this community! Thank you for everything!

Kids love dancing with ATJ! Admin does the best they can to communicate schedules and arrangements across large scale recital, exam, and competition opportunities. Management has always been open to feedback. Teachers are caring and encouraging of young dancers, never overly critical, always encouraging creative expression and giving allowances for individual development.

Both my daughter and son joined the ATJ competition team, and we’ve seen such amazing growth in them — not just in skills, but in confidence and attitude as well. The teachers are passionate and truly inspiring, and the admin team has always been warm and supportive. ATJ feels like a second home and school for our kids. It’s a wonderful example of how children can grow, learn, and thrive in a joyful and encouraging environment. We’re so grateful to be part of this community!

ATJD Academy offers strong dance training, but several ongoing issues have impacted the overall experience for many families: 1.Inconsistent Communication: Information about fees, events, and policies varies between branches. Parents asking the same questions often receive different answers, creating unnecessary confusion and stress. 2.Unpredictable Timing of Cost Notifications: Fees for costumes and competitions are not consistently communicated. For example, recently many parents were only informed of the several hundreds dollars of competition fee after the event. Costume charges have also been applied post-fitting without prior discussion. These surprises can add $500 or more in a single month—on top of already high monthly fees. 3 Favoritism in the Competition Team: The same dancers are repeatedly placed in front or chosen for feature in group dances—while others with potential are left in the background. If exclusions are due to absences or technique, those standards should be applied consistently and shared openly. Without constructive feedback on how to improve, many students are left discouraged and unsure how to grow. This favoritism has been a repeated concern and is especially hard on younger dancers who may negatively internalize as unfair treatment. Every parent has invested significantly in their child’s dance education, and each child deserves an equal opportunity to grow and shine. If a student isn’t placed at the front, selected for a solo, or included in a particular routine, they should receive clear, constructive feedback on how they can work toward those goals. It cannot always be the same faces in front which sadly we have seen a lot at ATJD be it competition or recital even if they are talented—because without the chance to try or understand what’s needed to improve, other children will never have the opportunity to reach that level. This creates a discouraging environment that stifles growth and motivation. 4.Lack of Team Spirit Culture: Some students display passive-aggressive or unhelpful behavior toward peers, with no apparent consequences. Teachers do not consistently promote a collaborative or inclusive environment, which is essential for team-based performance activities. It feels like ATJD has grown into a larger, profit-driven operation. Recitals are poorly scheduled and split across multiple show sections across the entire day, meaning parents may need to buy tickets for two or three separate shows just to see their child perform. At $50 per ticket, a family of four could easily spend $400 just on admission—excluding recital and costume fees. With clearer communication, fairer policies, and a stronger commitment to inclusivity and student growth, ATJD has the potential provide a more supportive environment to all .

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does All That Jazz Dance Academy charge per session?

All That Jazz Dance Academy prices its holiday camp programmes in the mid-range ($$), but specific per-session or per-camp fees are not publicly listed at the time of writing. Holiday camps in Singapore typically range from S$30–80 per day for half-day formats and S$80–180 per day for full-day programmes, depending on the provider, duration, and activity intensity. When enquiring, ask for a full fee breakdown — including whether materials, costumes, or a closing showcase are included in the camp fee, and whether a deposit is required to secure the place. See the full holiday camp cost guide for Singapore →

Can I try a class before committing?

Holiday camps at All That Jazz Dance Academy are typically booked as a block — one full camp run rather than individual drop-in sessions — so a standalone trial class may not always be available in the same format as a regular term-time programme. It is worth asking directly whether the academy offers an introductory or taster session, or whether your child can observe a class before you commit to a full camp booking. When assessing fit, consider whether the teaching style suits your child's temperament, whether the level is appropriate for their experience, and whether the group size allows for individual attention. Visiting the studio at 36 Prinsep Street before booking is a reasonable step.

What are the instructors' credentials at All That Jazz Dance Academy?

Specific instructor credentials for All That Jazz Dance Academy are not listed in the available provider data. When enquiring, ask about each instructor's dance training background, performance or teaching experience, and whether they hold any formal qualifications such as a RAD (Royal Academy of Dance), ISTD, or CSTD certification — these are the most widely recognised benchmarks for dance instruction in Singapore. Also worth clarifying is how long the lead instructors have been teaching holiday programmes specifically, and whether the same instructor leads the camp throughout rather than rotating between sessions. If unknown, contact All That Jazz Dance Academy directly to ask.
