About Amber Family Clinic

About Amber Family Clinic

Amber Family Clinic is a general practice located at Katong V on East Coast Road, serving patients across Singapore. The clinic is KakiList-verified, with operating details and contact channels confirmed. It holds a 4.7/5 rating across 64 Google reviews — a moderate sample that provides a reasonable indication of patient experience. No ACRA registration or MOH Healthcare Services Licence appears in the provider's submitted data, which limits the confidence of this listing.

For a first visit, patients typically present directly without a referral — this is a private GP setting where consultations are self-pay at standard market rates of S$25–60 for a general visit. The doctor manages acute presentations (fever, respiratory infections, skin conditions, minor injuries), chronic disease follow-up (hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia — conditions covered under the Chronic Disease Management Programme for MediSave withdrawal), and routine health screening. Planned investigations such as blood panels or X-rays are arranged on the day or referred. Follow-up visits for chronic conditions are typically scheduled at regular intervals, and prescriptions are dispensed at the clinic. Patients wishing to use their Integrated Shield Plan for specialist referrals or day surgery downstream should retain the GP's referral letter.

To book an appointment or enquire about consultation availability, contact Amber Family Clinic directly via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form before attending, particularly during peak hours.

I had a truly positive experience with Dr Wong at Amber Clinic. She is one of the most genuinely caring doctors I’ve met. From the moment I stepped into her consultation room, I felt safe, heard, and respected. Dr Wong is an exceptional listener. She does not rush through the consultation and takes the time to understand concerns properly before offering her advice. Her empathy and calm presence make a real difference, especially when you’re feeling vulnerable. It’s rare to find a doctor who combines professionalism with such warmth and attentiveness. I would also like to commend her clinic assistant, Shamini. She is polite, responsive, and follows up diligently. Her positive attitude and professionalism truly complement the experience at the clinic. It is without a question that this is a 5-star experience. They have earned every one of these 5 stars.

I live visited this clinic for 2 basic health issues. It was my first time after 6 years in Singapore when I was charged for items like generating medical report or writing a memo. Later I was told that filling claim forms for medical insurance companies goes at extra charge as well. That was a cultural shock. Based on the doctor’s consultation I was supposed to have a prescription for 2-3 medicine for basic health matters like sore throat and stomach ache. When I left the doctor’s cabinet, following doctor’s recommendation receptionist gave me 10+ medicines, the relevance provoked questions from my side which were not addressed. I understand that receptionist is not a doctor but I could not come back to the doctor - this is how the system in the clinic works. When I randomly excluded half of the items proposed, receptionist called to the doctor and it turned out that I really need only one drug out of all that I removed. I have a feeling that main purpose of this clinic is to push as much drugs as possible to increase total bill. I have zero trust to this clinic and write this review for other people to be aware and build their own judgement.

I am genuinely grateful for Dr. Wong’s compassionate care. She truly listens and understands, providing tailored medical recommendations that address my concerns. Additionally, Shamini, the clinic nurse at the front desk, is always comforting and incredibly helpful. I feel fortunate to have discovered this clinic; it’s reassuring to know I can count on them! =)

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Amber Family Clinic charge?

A standard GP consultation at a private clinic in Singapore typically runs S$25–60, with follow-up visits slightly lower. On top of the consultation fee, common add-ons include a blood panel (S$60–200 depending on scope), X-ray (S$80–150), and prescription medication — each billed separately. A basic health screening package starts at around S$150 for a fasting blood and urine panel and can run S$400–2,500 for comprehensive executive tiers. GST applies on private medical services. If you plan to use MediSave or an Integrated Shield Plan, confirm eligibility at the front desk before the consultation — not all GP visits qualify, and the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) allows MediSave withdrawals of up to S$700/year for listed conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and high cholesterol. Is Amber Family Clinic MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

Every legitimate private clinic in Singapore must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. Every practising doctor must appear on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm registration status, any specialist accreditation, and disciplinary history. No MOH Healthcare Services Licence or named SMC registration appears in the data submitted for this listing. This does not necessarily mean the clinic is unlicensed, but it does mean patients should verify both the clinic licence and the consulting doctor's SMC entry directly before booking. Neither alone is sufficient — a valid clinic licence with an unregistered doctor, or a registered doctor practising from an unlicensed premises, would each be a compliance concern. Contact the clinic directly to request their MOH licence number and the consulting doctor's full name for cross-referencing on the SMC register.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Amber Family Clinic?

MediSave can be used at approved GP clinics for outpatient chronic disease management under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), with a withdrawal limit of S$500/year for general outpatient conditions and S$700/year for CDMP-listed conditions including hypertension, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, asthma, stroke, and selected mental health conditions. Not all GP visits qualify — confirm CDMP participation with the clinic before your appointment. Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life generally cover specialist consultations, day surgery, and inpatient stays rather than routine GP visits, though some plans include a GP rider. For any planned investigation or procedure referred downstream, request pre-authorisation from your insurer and ask for a written financial counselling estimate that itemises the insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before proceeding. For specialist referrals via the public hospital subsidised outpatient clinic (SOC) pathway, a GP referral letter can reduce the first consultation fee to S$30–80 for Singapore Citizens, compared with S$120–250 for a direct private specialist walk-in.
