A first consultation usually involves an intake assessment covering personal history, current symptoms, and therapeutic goals, after which the therapist proposes a treatment approach (which may include cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic work, or other modalities) and an estimate of session frequency. It is worth confirming whether the practitioner is a registered psychologist (Singapore Psychological Society) or holds another clinical credential, and whether sessions are claimable under MediShield Life, integrated shield plans, or your employer's mental health benefit.

To take the next step, reach out via WhatsApp or the contact form to arrange an initial consultation and confirm the therapist's credentials, session format, and fee structure before committing to an ongoing engagement.

Geetika has been amazing on this journey. She has led me to realize many things that I may not have thought about before and how they have impacted many aspects of my life. She always listens patiently and suggests very effective tips for me to manage the various aspects of my life. She hears me out, empathizes and is able to share her honest views such that I can continue to work on being better in many areas. It was a very comfortable, insightful and encouraging journey with her!

Geetika has been a true gift. I I was carrying a lot of pain from a traumatic event and honestly, I felt pretty lost. She didn’t just give me textbook advice; she met me right where I was with so much warmth and patience. She created a space where I finally felt safe enough to face the hard things, helping me put the pieces back together without ever making me feel broken. I am deeply grateful for her, and I can't recommend her enough.

Geetika has been an incredible source of support during one of the most difficult and heavy periods of my life. She helped me navigate profound grief, betrayal, and feelings of abandonment with so much kindness and empathy. She has given me a safe space to open up and share my struggles. Her ability to truly listen, validate my experiences, and gently help me see things from a different perspective made a huge difference in my healing. Through her reassurance and compassion, I’ve been able to find clarity, strength, and the confidence to move forward with my life. I’m deeply grateful for her guidance and would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a therapist who is both insightful and genuinely caring.

Geetika has helped me navigated through multiple stressors and grief issues that were happening concurrently in my life. Her approach was empathetic and practical, and it gave me clear applications to work on after each session. This allowed me to progressively work through the complex issues that covered multiple aspects of my life, from personal, to family and work.

Geetika wasn’t the first therapist I have been to but her approach was extremely unique and kind. She made me open up in a completely different way but also very healthy so I deal with the baggage’s and trauma. I don’t believe I was ever able to deal with these things before and it was only with her and her soft approach I felt safe and she helped me to open things without reliving them, her approach was extremely healthy. Geetika has truly changed my life and equipped me with more kindness and understanding towards me and the child in me. As a parent herself she also was able to connect and gave me perspective on how to balance things without linking it to my childhood trauma. She has really shaped my understanding of myself and the family around me. It has been a journey but I’ve been blessed to have came her way to finally be able to put things into perspective between me, my inner self and the people surrounding me

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Balanced Life Psychotherapy & Counselling charge per session?

Balanced Life Psychotherapy & Counselling displays a mid-range price indicator but has not published a specific per-session rate in its listing. For context, counselling and psychotherapy sessions in Singapore typically run S$100–250 per 50-minute session at private practices, with initial assessments sometimes priced separately. Some practitioners offer package rates for a fixed number of sessions, which reduces the per-session cost modestly. Confirm the current fee, any first-session assessment charge, and the cancellation or no-show policy before booking. Also ask whether sessions are claimable under your integrated shield plan, employer's Employee Assistance Programme, or any CHAS subsidy you may be entitled to. Do I need a referral or assessment first?

No formal referral is required to approach Balanced Life Psychotherapy & Counselling directly — you can enquire via WhatsApp, phone, or the online form. The first session is typically a structured intake conversation covering your presenting concern, relevant personal and medical history, and what you are hoping to achieve through therapy. This helps the therapist assess fit and propose a suitable treatment approach. A GP referral is not mandatory but can be useful if you intend to make an insurance or integrated shield claim, as some policies require a referral letter. If your concerns involve psychiatric medication, a concurrent consultation with a psychiatrist or GP may be recommended alongside therapy. Bring any prior diagnosis letters or assessment reports to the first session if you have them.

Is the practitioner at Balanced Life Psychotherapy & Counselling licensed?

Psychotherapists and counsellors in Singapore are not yet regulated under a single statutory licensing framework, which means the onus falls on clients to verify credentials directly. Registered psychologists can be checked on the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) register; counsellors may hold accreditation from the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC). Practitioners who are also clinical psychologists or hold a doctorate in psychology may additionally appear on the SPS full membership list. Before booking, ask the practice for the therapist's qualification (degree level and institution), any professional body registration number, and their area of specialisation. Confirm whether professional indemnity insurance is held. This is standard practice when engaging a mental health professional and any reputable practitioner will provide this information readily.
