Have emailed them since Wednesday and no acknowledgment since then when they are the ones to ask us to email them to discuss further. Lapses in clinical management: Our cat was found moaning in pain and a hit and run accident was suspected. We sent to Beecroft for emergency and she was attended by Dr Jo Wang. However, she refused to touch/examine her, explaining that she was afraid of being scratched, and does not want to risk the safety of their staffs unless sedation was done. Despite us indicating our suspicion of underlying heart issues and worried the cat may collapse during sedation, she just refused to touch her. Nothing could be done, not even pain medicine when the cat was in great pain until sedation was given. In the end, we signed the agreement for the cat to be sedated as that is the only way Dr Jo would intervene. However, later, we realised that the examination was not adequately performed. After we decided on the surgery option and prior to the surgery, Dr Tom informed us that he had detected a pelvic fracture with urethral tear which was a severe issue. If this had been discovered on the 1st night when she was sedated, we would have made a proper decision and not having to rush to a decision just prior to the surgery (3rd day). Proper physical examination is the basic and first line of detection of any issues. How can this be missed when it was so obvious? Lack of empathy: We were not given the opportunity to see her before and after surgery at all! Dr Jo being the night Dr on duty, fail to call the main carer after cat surgery to update on the status. Citing due to 3 emergency cases. Is this the treatment of a community cat vs house pet? Hospital not showing a single form of empathy during the 3 nights cat was admitted. Cat passed away on 4th day morning. This is truly a medical negligence case!!!
This is a long overdue review of my visit to Beecroft on 6 September 2025 (Saturday). My white albino cockatiel was involved in a freak accident at home around 9am. Truthfully, I knew it was likely too late for him due to the severity of his injuries, but my parents still hoped for a glimpse of hope and insisted that we send him for immediate medical attention. I searched for a clinic that specialises in avian care with A&E services, which was very difficult to find. That was when we came across Beecroft. The receptionist who took our call was calm and prompt in gathering the necessary information about our cockatiel and reassured us that a doctor would be available to attend to him. Upon arriving at the clinic about 25 minutes later, Dr Ellen Rasidi (if I recall correctly) rushed out immediately to receive our cockatiel and brought him straight into the treatment room with great urgency. Although we were later required to sign a consent form regarding emergency treatment and associated costs, this was done only after Dr Ellen had already prioritised attending to our cockatiel. This truly reflected the clinic’s stance on prioritising saving a life over profits. Shortly after, Dr Ellen invited us to sit down and gently explained that our cockatiel had already passed before we arrived, and that his injuries were too severe. Throughout the conversation, she was sincere and extremely compassionate. While we were heartbroken by our cockatiel’s passing, her kindness brought us a great deal of comfort during a very difficult moment. While waiting for our bill, the receptionist approached us and informed us that we were able to leave the clinic without making any payment. Although we were unaware of the internal considerations that led to this decision, we were truly grateful for this gesture. Although this was an unfortunate and painful day for us, I would like to sincerely thank Dr Ellen and the team for their professionalism, compassion, and humanity.
A very comforting experience despite having stressed over two weeks of Basil's (Beagle) injury. We were assured by Dr Tom's professionalism and experience; and the surgery went very well. We were glad to see Basil running towards us on discharge. We were well informed of his condition during his stay at Beecroft by the attentive staffs. The post-ops care and recovery were well managed with clear points on how to make Basil most comfortable. Overall, we were most happy with the services and hope to Basil up and running again in the next few weeks. Special compliments to Mr Dexter Presto for taking care of Basil and attending to our queries; an invaluable member of the team. Dr Tom Anderson and Mr Dexter Presto were awesome.
