About Bethesda Medical Toa Payoh
Bethesda Medical Toa Payoh is a GP clinic located at 500 Lorong 6 Toa Payoh, #04-33, Singapore 310500. The clinic is KakiList-verified, meaning operating details and contact channels have been confirmed by a real person. It holds a 3.2/5 rating across 71 Google reviews — a moderate sample size, though the below-average score is worth noting before you book. No regulatory licences are listed in this directory entry, and the clinic is not ACRA-registered on this profile; patients should confirm the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and the consulting doctor's Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration directly before attending.
For a first visit, walk-in GP consultations typically cover acute illness, minor injuries, chronic disease follow-up (hypertension, diabetes, and other conditions under the Chronic Disease Management Programme), and referrals to specialist outpatient clinics where needed. Bring your NRIC or FIN, a list of current medications, and your Integrated Shield Plan details if you intend to claim. Consultations are billed at point of service; MediSave can be used for selected outpatient items under the MediSave 500 or CDMP withdrawal limits for eligible chronic conditions. If you require onward specialist review, ask the GP for a referral letter, which can reduce the cost of a public hospital SOC visit substantially.
To make an appointment or check waiting times, contact Bethesda Medical Toa Payoh by phone or through the enquiry form listed on this page.
Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
I recently (just yesterday) completed my annual health screening at Bethesda Medical at Toa Payoh, and I'm thoroughly impressed with the service. Having visited various health screening centers over the past 10 years, I can confidently say that Bethesda Medical stands out for all the right reasons. The team's professionalism and attentiveness were evident from the moment I arrived. The entire process was seamless and well-organised, making what is typically a routine medical appointment feel genuinely caring and personalized. The staff were efficient yet warm, ensuring I felt comfortable throughout. What truly sets Bethesda Medical apart is their cohesive team approach – everyone worked together smoothly, and it showed in the quality of care I received. This level of coordination and service excellence is rare, and it's clear they prioritize patient experience. If you're looking for a reliable and patient-focused health screening center in the Toa Payoh area, I highly recommend Bethesda Medical. They've earned my trust and my return visit next year.
Today, my family and I completed a medical exam for our upcoming relocation to the Middle East. Despite our unique circumstances & request, the clinic staff went above and beyond to make the entire process smooth and stress-free. A special thank you to Cassandra, who showed exceptional care to my daughters — she made them feel at ease during the blood draws, allowed us to stay together where possible, and offered constant reassurance. Her kindness and efficiency truly eased what could have been a stressful experience. We’re very grateful and highly recommend this clinic.
Staff were friendly. Queue was short on a Saturday morning and health screening was efficiently completed within 50 minutes including ECG, x ray, seeing the doctor etc. clinic was small but well equipped.
The good rating is only for the reception staff cassandra she was very pleasant helpful and some one who will make sure to get the work done fr you
Wasn’t the best experience at this clinic. Only came to the Toa Payoh branch for an ultrasound referral. Otherwise, would’ve gone to the Yishun branch, where the service has always been much better. Tried calling ahead but no one picked up. When we arrived, the reception staff weren’t busy but were just chatting loudly among themselves. I even thought, ‘Why are you talking so loudly?’ especially with patients around. They made rude comments about people after they left, which felt really unprofessional. Being a HCW myself, this isn’t the kind of service I would expect from fellow staff. Honestly, if you’re not happy to work or serve patients, maybe it’s time to reconsider the role.

GP consultations at private clinics in Singapore typically run S$25–60 per visit, with follow-up visits on the lower end and acute or complex consultations on the higher end. On top of the consultation fee, expect to pay separately for any investigations (blood panel S$60–200, X-ray S$80–150), prescription medications, and procedures such as wound dressing or minor excision. GST applies on private medical services. MediSave can offset selected outpatient costs under the MediSave 500 withdrawal limit (S$500 per year for general outpatient use), or up to S$700/year under the Chronic Disease Management Programme for eligible conditions including hypertension, diabetes, and lipid disorders. Confirm the exact consultation fee with the clinic directly, as pricing varies by doctor and complexity. See the full GP & 24-Hour Clinics cost guide for Singapore →
Every legitimate GP clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. Every practising doctor must also be on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm registration status, any specialist accreditation, and disciplinary history. No licences are listed in this directory profile for Bethesda Medical Toa Payoh, so patients are strongly advised to verify both the clinic's MOH licence and the consulting doctor's SMC entry directly before attending. Neither the clinic licence nor the doctor's SMC registration alone is sufficient — both should be confirmed. If the clinic participates in the Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) or is a Screen for Life partner, this also appears on the MOH and Agency for Integrated Care directories and is a useful secondary trust signal.
MediSave can be used for outpatient GP visits under the MediSave 500 withdrawal limit (S$500/year for general outpatient) or up to S$700/year under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which covers hypertension, diabetes, lipid disorders, stroke, asthma, COPD, and selected other chronic conditions. Confirm with the clinic whether the consulting doctor is a CDMP-accredited provider, as only accredited providers can facilitate MediSave claims for chronic disease management. Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life generally cover hospitalisation and day surgery rather than routine GP visits, though some riders extend partial coverage to outpatient specialist consultations. For any planned procedure — even a minor one — request a written financial counselling estimate splitting insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket cost before proceeding. Skipping this step is the most common reason patients are surprised by their final bill.
