About Boon Keng Clinic and Surgery

About Boon Keng Clinic and Surgery

Boon Keng Clinic and Surgery is a general practice clinic located at Upper Boon Keng Road, serving the surrounding residential neighbourhood and the broader island. It is KakiList-verified and holds a 4.6-star rating across 221 Google reviews, which represents a robust sample and provides reasonable confidence in the rating. No ACRA registration has been confirmed for this listing, and no regulatory licences appear in the available data; prospective patients should verify the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and the consulting doctor's SMC registration independently before attending.

For a GP visit, patients typically walk in or call ahead to check queue times. The consultation covers presenting symptoms, medication prescription, medical certificate issuance where applicable, and referral to a polyclinic or specialist if the condition warrants it. Chronic disease management — covering conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and lipid disorders under the CDMP — may allow MediSave 500/700 withdrawal limits to offset out-of-pocket costs for eligible patients. Integrated Shield Plan holders should note that most GP visits are not covered under IP riders, which are designed for inpatient and day-surgery claims; check your plan terms before assuming reimbursement.

To attend, call the clinic to confirm operating hours and current queue availability before making your way to Upper Boon Keng Road.

Hi, Boon Keng Clinic is my regular go-to neighbourhood clinic everytime I get sick. Always have smooth visit due to all kind doctors but I think I should give feedback this time about receptionist lady who has been working there for like more than 4 years. We all are tired & vulnerable patients when we go down to clinic. She should behave politely and have some respect when she talks. She can’t expect all patients will know how the clinic visiting experience will work whether we can direct approach them or we need to wait until the other person ahead of me finish conversation with them. At least, she can nicely tell us to start our registration or any other things. Thanks!!

Found this clinic as it is covered my company’s insurance policy. During my first time there, registration was quick. Receptionists are friendly, helpful and efficient. I have visited them a few times since. Doctor is observant, knowledgeable, listens, asks questions and then explains why he is asking those questions. He also explains what medicine he will be prescribing. Also, what was prescribed for me was effective. It is nice to have a pleasant experience when I’m feeling not so pleasant. Thank you Boon Keng Clinic & Surgery!

Unlike what the clinic name suggests, Dr Christopher Lim is an experienced young doctor who is invested in his patients’ health. He took note of my detailed medical history and prior interventions before considering the best treatment plan forward, and also gave advice on adjusting my lifestyle habits to manage my condition for the time being. He was also mindful about additional considerations I had as a breastfeeding mother, which I really appreciate. To add on, wait times are short and the charges for both consultation and medication are affordable! I had been charged 80% higher for similar medicine at a nearby clinic for reference.

I was feeling sick and visited iDoc Clinic (Boon Keng) which is near to my workplace and this is my first time. I was attended by Dr Christopher so I explained that I had been coughing and feeling feverish for a week and I had already visited a clinic near my house but the medication they gave didn’t help with my cough. As a patient, we just want our sickness to cure and to receive medication that actually works for us but the doctor there only issued a cough mixture which can be bought at any pharmacy and even said, “You try this cough syrup first.” So I decided to visit iDoc Clinic (Boon Keng). Dr Christopher consulted me and really listened. He prescribed the medication that I usually take and didn’t add unnecessary meds since I already had some. He was really a nice doctor and even gave advice on taking care of my health. The front desk staff were also very nice. Consultation fees were affordable too! Definitely a good clinic. Thank you so much!! 😊

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Boon Keng Clinic and Surgery charge?

GP consultations at private clinics in Singapore typically run S$25–60, with follow-up visits often at the lower end of that range. Common add-ons include blood tests (S$60–200 depending on panel), urine tests, X-rays (S$80–150), prescriptions, and medical certificates — each billed separately. GST applies on private medical services. For Singapore Citizens and PRs registered under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), MediSave can offset up to S$500–700 per year for qualifying outpatient consultations. Screen for Life subsidised health screening is available at participating CHAS GP clinics. Confirm directly with the clinic whether they participate in CHAS, Screen for Life, or MediSave CDMP before your visit, and request an itemised receipt for any insurance or MediSave submission. Is Boon Keng Clinic and Surgery MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

No MOH Healthcare Services Licence or SMC registration appears in the available data for this listing. Every legitimate clinic is required to hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act, verifiable on the MOH licensee directory. Every practising doctor must be listed on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg — search by name to confirm registration status, specialist accreditation, and any disciplinary history. Patients are encouraged to verify both the clinic licence and the named doctor's SMC entry before attending. This is particularly relevant for any consultation involving chronic disease management, referrals, or procedures where MediSave or insurance claims will be submitted. Neither the clinic licence nor the SMC entry alone is sufficient — confirm both.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Boon Keng Clinic and Surgery?

Most standard GP consultations are paid at the point of service and are not claimable under Integrated Shield Plans (IPs), which are structured for inpatient admissions and day surgery. However, patients enrolled in the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) can use MediSave to withdraw up to S$500 per year (or S$700 for CDMP-listed chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes, asthma, stroke, and selected mental health conditions) to offset qualifying outpatient consultation and medication costs at registered CHAS GP clinics. Confirm with the clinic whether it is CHAS-registered and whether the consulting doctor is enrolled in CDMP before the visit. For any planned investigations or procedures, request a written estimate that separates the MediSave-claimable portion from the out-of-pocket balance. Skipping this step is the most common reason patients are surprised by their final bill.
