For a first visit, patients typically present at the clinic directly without a referral. A GP consultation at a private clinic in Singapore generally runs S$25–60, with investigations such as blood panels, swabs, or X-rays billed on top. If your condition warrants a specialist, the GP can issue a referral letter to a public hospital Specialist Outpatient Clinic, which reduces your specialist visit to S$30–80 for Singapore Citizens, though non-urgent waiting times of four to twelve weeks are common. For chronic conditions — hypertension, diabetes, lipid disorders, and others — the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) allows MediSave withdrawals of up to S$700 per year toward outpatient treatment at participating clinics. Enquire whether Boon Lay Clinic and Surgery participates in CDMP before your visit.
Contact the clinic directly via phone, WhatsApp, or the online form to confirm current consultation hours, queue availability, and whether your condition or chronic disease management needs can be addressed on your intended visit.
Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.

My family and i had visted this clinic for more than 25 years before they changed the clinic name to DR+Medical & Paincare Boon Lay. Was happy to get treated by Dr Cynthia today. Loved consulting Dr Cynthia as she is very friendly and patient, very knowledgeable and take time to address my concerns and doubts. She is precise and sharp in all her diagnosis. Sharing from my parents, although her clinic is busy most of the time, she still willing to hear and explained in details to those elderly patients on the treatment and medication. Highly recommended this clinic.
What a wonderful experience from start to finish! The receptionist lady was extremely friendly and guided me through the registration process with a smile on her face. As for Dr. Chao, not only did she give me a pain-free influenza jab, she also walked me through potential influenza complications as well as ways to address or avoid them! Hands down one of my best clinic experiences in Singapore ❤️
Went there a couple of times for chronic hives,Wich in my case can last for many months, Dr Cynthia proscribed me with some antihistamines for my hives and told me that if needed I could come to the counter and buy it, I have already bought it off the counter 3 times, today I went to get it again but the girl at the counter for some reason was not happy asking me how come so fast finish? This and that like she's a doctor, if you Google up chronic hives you might know the reason why it finish quick did not like her attitude it was disgusting the doctors are good I have been there many times before just the lady in the front desk needs to go to some customers service class or course

A standard GP consultation at a private clinic in Singapore typically runs S$25–60, with follow-up visits slightly lower. Investigations are billed on top: a basic blood panel runs S$60–200, a urine test S$15–40, and a throat or nasal swab S$30–80. Prescribed medications are itemised separately. GST applies to private medical services. If you are managing a chronic condition under the CDMP, you may be able to offset some outpatient costs using MediSave (up to S$700/year for CDMP-listed conditions). Confirm the clinic's CDMP participation and Medisave acceptance before your visit. See the full GP and 24-Hour Clinics cost guide for Singapore →
Every legitimate clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory. Every practising doctor must be listed on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm registration status and any disciplinary history. No regulatory licences are currently listed in this directory entry for Boon Lay Clinic and Surgery; contact the clinic directly to request their MOH licence number and the consulting doctor's full name for independent verification on the SMC register. Note that ACRA registration is also not confirmed in this listing. Verify both the clinic licence and the named doctor's SMC entry before booking. Listing data is incomplete — contact Boon Lay Clinic and Surgery directly to confirm details.
Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life generally cover private specialist consultations, day surgery, and inpatient stays, but most standard GP visits are not claimable under an IP — check your plan's outpatient rider terms. MediSave can be used for outpatient treatment of chronic conditions under the CDMP (up to S$700/year for listed conditions including hypertension, diabetes, and asthma), provided the clinic is a registered CDMP participant. For any planned procedure or referral, request a financial counselling session and a written estimate that itemises the insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before proceeding. Confirm the clinic's MediSave and insurance acceptance directly, as participation varies by clinic.
