A few days ago, my mother was unwell. As all family members were at work, she asked our domestic helper to accompany her to the clinic for a consultation, without our prior knowledge. During this visit, Dr. Chin administered a pneumococcal vaccine. We were later informed that this was done without consultation with our family and, to our understanding, without adequate verification of my mother’s known allergy history. My mother has a documented allergy to the pneumococcal vaccine. When I contacted Dr. Chin to seek clarification, I did not receive a response until several days later. During our conversation, Dr. Chin explained that she had checked the National Electronic Health Record (NEHR) system and that it did not indicate any pneumococcal vaccine allergy. She also stated that my mother was aware of the vaccine being administered. I would like to clarify that my mother is illiterate and does not fully understand medical terms or the names and purposes of vaccines. She understood only that she was receiving an injection and assumed that the doctor had reviewed her medical records and determined that it was appropriate. Based on our previous experiences, even the polyclinic nurses were aware of her pneumococcal vaccine allergy, and last year we were shown records indicating that this allergy was documented. We are very concerned about this incident, as administering a vaccine to a patient with a known allergy poses significant safety risks. We respectfully request a review of this matter to understand how this occurred and to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Dr Lim is a very meticulous and caring doctor. He took time to listen and explain everything clearly, and I felt very well looked after. Siti, the clinic assistant, is so nice and helpful – she was patient, kind, and made the whole visit smooth. Highly recommend this clinic. Sybil

Bad experience TWICE. Both were similar incidents. At registration, I asked if the doctor is able to prescribe a specific type of meds and on both incidents (these happened many months apart btw) they said yes. So, both times I waited over an hour, then when it was my turn, they told me that no, the doctor cannot prescribe the meds. The fact that this happened twice is astounding. I wasted my time there when I could have gone elsewhere to a more capable clinic.

Dr Samuel Kana Anak Lis was extremely impatient. My symptoms have been going on for about 5 days and I have been taking medications at home. He did not care. All he did was to throw me a bunch of medicine which are all the same that I had at home. He was extremely unwilling to give me medical certificate too. Consult did not last 60 seconds and it costed 23 dollars. With medications it was $75.

Google doesn’t allow 0 stars, otherwise that would be my rating. I visited the clinic on 6 Sept at around 6:30pm as my 1-year-old son was running a fever. The nurse was very kind and helpful, patiently assisting us with my son’s weight and height. Unfortunately, my experience with the doctor was extremely disappointing. When we explained the sequence of events, he appeared inattentive and at times even twisted our words. As parents of a sick child, we were not there to be scrutinized—we were seeking medical advice and reassurance. Instead, the doctor seemed dismissive. At one point, he impatiently forced a tool into my son’s mouth, almost causing him to gag. I have seen interns at restructured hospitals show more care than this. To make matters worse, we left the clinic without any proper advice on how to manage the fever. All we were told was that it “could be viral” or “maybe HFMD,” with no clear guidance. He did not even address whether we should alternate between paracetamol and Brufen, which our previous doctor had advised. Despite leaving the clinic feeling helpless and with my baby still distressed, we still had to pay for the consultation. To add on, I believe the doctor’s name was Dr. Loh or Dr. Low.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Braddell Medical Clinic charge?

GP consultations at private and polyclinic-adjacent GP clinics in Singapore typically run S$25–60 per visit, with medications, investigations, and medical certificates billed separately. Common add-ons include blood panels (S$60–200), urine tests, X-rays (S$80–150), and any prescribed medications. GST applies on private medical services. Braddell Medical Clinic does not publicly list its exact fees, so it is advisable to ask for an itemised breakdown before the consultation — particularly if you plan to claim via MediSave, CDMP, or an Integrated Shield Plan. For CDMP-listed chronic conditions, MediSave 500/700 outpatient withdrawal limits may partially offset the bill. See the full GP & 24-Hour Clinics cost guide for Singapore →

Is Braddell Medical Clinic MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

No MOH Healthcare Services Licence or SMC doctor registration currently appears in Braddell Medical Clinic's listing on KakiList. Every legitimate GP clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory — and every practising doctor must be registered on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg. Patients should search the named consulting doctor on the SMC register to confirm active registration and check for any disciplinary history before booking. Confirm the clinic's MOH licence directly with staff if it is not displayed on-site. Neither licence alone is sufficient — both should be verified.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Braddell Medical Clinic?

MediSave can be used for outpatient consultations under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which covers conditions including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, stroke, asthma, COPD, and selected mental health conditions, up to the S$500/year (or S$700/year CDMP) withdrawal limits. Confirm with the clinic whether they are a CDMP-accredited provider before your visit. If you hold an Integrated Shield Plan layered on MediShield Life, check whether Braddell Medical Clinic is on your insurer's GP panel — panel visits typically attract lower co-payments. For any planned procedure or referral, request a written financial counselling estimate that separates insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before proceeding. Skipping this step is the most common reason patients are surprised by their final bill.
