About Bridging the Gap

About "Bridging the Gap"

Bridging the Gap is a special needs school based in Rochester Mall, serving families islandwide across Singapore. The listing has been verified by KakiList, confirming operating details and contact information. The school holds a perfect 5-out-of-5 rating across 55 Google reviews, which represents a moderate sample size and can be treated as a reasonably reliable signal of parent satisfaction. Fees are listed at the mid-range price tier; families are encouraged to enquire directly for the current monthly fee schedule.

The process of securing a place at a special needs school typically begins with a diagnostic report from a developmental paediatrician, MOE Psychological Service, or registered psychologist — this documentation is essential before a formal application can proceed. Once an initial enquiry is made, Bridging the Gap will likely arrange an observation visit or intake assessment to determine whether the school's programme is a suitable fit for the child's diagnosed condition and developmental profile, whether that involves autism spectrum disorder, global developmental delay, physical disability, or other needs. Families should expect a therapist-integrated day programme, a low teacher-to-student ratio, and a transition pathway conversation covering longer-term options in mainstream education, vocational pathways, or continued SPED placement.

To take the next step, contact Bridging the Gap directly by phone or via the enquiry form on their listing. Have your child's diagnostic report ready, and ask specifically about current placement availability, the school's intake assessment process, and the monthly fee structure.

BTG is a great early intervention centre with amazing teachers who are very dedicated to their job. You can see their passion for children and they are genuine in helping all the special needs children. My daughter has been attending BTG for about 1.5years now. She has made a lot of improvements in terms of speech, motor skills, behaviour and many more. She always look forward for her classes at BTG. Whenever she is unwell, she will feel sad just because she is unable to attend class. That's how much she loves going to BTG! Highly recommend BTG if you're looking for an early intervention centre!

Bridging the Gap is a wonderful early intervention school with a caring and professional team. The principal and teachers are kind, friendly, and genuinely passionate about teaching the children. The occupational and speech therapy classes are well-structured and effective. There are also regular check-ins to give parents great peace of mind. My child has benefitted immensely from the programme. We are truly grateful for the support and dedication of the staff.

We began our journey with Bridging the Gap last August 2022 when our son’s Child Development Pediatrician had suggested us to enrol him for early intervention program due to him being at risk of autism. From then on, we had observed significant improvements from him being able to respond with his name, giving eye contact, able to point and better fine motor skills. As our son is also enrolled at a preschool, the teachers and even the principal have also feedback that they have seen him improved a lot since attending with BTG three times a week. The centre is also very welcoming and vibrant, our son enjoys going there. We still have a long way to go as a family in this journey but glad we have the help and expertise of BTG in caring and understanding our son.

My son has attended BTG at buona vista since last year. I've searched through all the EIPIC and EIPIC P available closer to the west and had chosen BTG after looking at the good reviews. He was around 2.5 when he attended and had speech delays as well as signs of Asd. Within a month there were significant improvements in speech. His Pre-school teachers also highlighted to us that he was able to speak and understand more. His attention also improved and he actually listens in class. Overall we've seen improvements in all areas after attending for close to a year. The teachers are friendly and supportive and most importantly our son actually loves attending it. We're so glad to have chosen BTG as early intervention centre for our son.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does "Bridging the Gap" charge per month?

Fees at special needs schools in Singapore vary widely depending on the type of institution and the child's citizenship status. MOE-gazetted SPED schools charge Singapore Citizens approximately S$150 per month, with higher tiered rates for Permanent Residents and foreigners. EIPIC early intervention centres typically fall in the S$150–S$800 per month range, with income-tested subsidies available. Private special needs schools generally charge S$1,500–S$4,000 or more per month. Bridging the Gap is listed at a mid-range price point; contact the school directly to confirm the exact monthly fee applicable to your child's circumstances. Budget for likely extras such as therapy top-up sessions, a transport shuttle, diagnostic assessment fees at partner clinics, and school uniform or materials. Fees for registered special needs schools are generally GST-exempt. See the full special needs school cost guide for Singapore →

What subsidies and funding can I claim at "Bridging the Gap"?

Funding options depend on the type of school and your child's profile. For MOE-gazetted SPED schools, Singapore Citizens pay a low flat monthly fee, while Permanent Residents and foreigners pay higher government-set rates. For early intervention and EIPIC programmes, ECDA administers an income-tested Additional Subsidy that can substantially reduce out-of-pocket costs. NCSS also provides means-tested financial assistance, typically coordinated through the school's social worker. SG Enable offers targeted support including the Assistive Technology Fund for equipment and devices. MediSave may be used to partially cover therapy components delivered at approved partner clinics. Do note that the Basic Childcare Subsidy and Working Mother Subsidy are for mainstream childcare only and do not apply here. Funding quantum and eligibility criteria are subject to change. Contact MOE's Special Education Branch and SG Enable directly for the most current figures before making financial plans.

How do I secure a place at "Bridging the Gap"?

The first requirement is a diagnostic report from a qualified professional — a developmental paediatrician, registered psychologist, or MOE Psychological Service assessor. Without this documentation, formal placement cannot proceed. Begin gathering this as early as possible, as assessment waiting times can themselves be lengthy. For MOE-gazetted SPED schools, placement is coordinated through the MOE Special Education Branch rather than directly with the school. For EIPIC centres and private special needs schools such as Bridging the Gap, families apply directly, and the school will typically conduct an intake assessment or observation session to confirm that the programme fits the child's specific needs and learning profile. Waiting lists at popular schools can run from several months to over a year. It is strongly advisable to start the referral and application process as early as possible, and to maintain a second-choice option while awaiting confirmation of a place.
