About British Council Singapore

About British Council Singapore

British Council Singapore is a holiday camp and English-language enrichment provider operating from its centre at 30 Napier Rd, Singapore 258509, with programmes available islandwide. The listing is KakiList verified and ACRA registered. It holds a 4.2/5 rating across 360 Google reviews, a robust sample that gives reasonable confidence in the rating signal.

Families typically begin by enquiring about the specific holiday camp programme that fits their child's age group, level, and the upcoming school holiday period. British Council runs structured short-form programmes, so it is worth confirming whether sessions are grouped by ability or age, what the class size looks like, and whether materials or activity resources are included in the stated fee. Before committing to a programme, ask about the teaching approach and how it aligns with your child's current syllabus or learning goals. For families considering multiple holiday periods, enquire about early-bird booking windows, as popular cohorts can fill quickly.

To take the next step, contact British Council Singapore directly by phone or through the enquiry form on their website to ask about upcoming holiday camp dates, age-group eligibility, and current availability before places are taken.

Decided to do my ielts test at the British Council since its reputation is solid one. First time taking IELTS computer test but everything set up properly and headphones working good, no issue. Staff also very friendly keep reminding what to do step by step so it's quite easy.

I needed ielts for a UK work visa. A friend recommended that I take it at the British Council, since her experience was good. I’m super stoked that I did as the staff is very professional and facilities are well set-up. On test day, security is quite strict but it’s understandable lah since it’s an examination. Ohh, it was also near the Napier mrt, just a quick walk. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to take IELTS.

I took my IELTS at the British Council and I was actually happy with the overall experience. It was near the Napier MRT and also there’s quite a few food options, important to keep my tummy fuel on exam day. Staff is so chill and explain the step, place is good as well. Like other reviews mentioned, the room was cold tho, so I make sure to bring jacket 😎

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does British Council Singapore charge per session?

British Council Singapore is listed at a mid-range price point ($$), though specific per-session or per-programme fees are not published in this listing. Holiday camp programmes are typically priced per camp block rather than per individual session, and the total cost will depend on the duration of the camp, the age group, and whether any materials or resources are included in the fee. It is worth asking directly about sibling discounts, early-bird rates, and whether a deposit is required to secure a place. Can I try a class before committing?

British Council Singapore does not publish a formal trial class policy in this listing, so it is worth contacting them directly by phone or enquiry form to ask whether a taster or introductory session is available for any of their holiday camp programmes. When assessing fit, look at whether the programme level matches your child's current ability, whether the teaching style keeps them engaged, and whether the group size allows for meaningful interaction. Holiday camps are typically short-duration by nature, so the commitment per programme is lower than a full-term course, which itself reduces the risk of misalignment.

What are the tutors' credentials at British Council Singapore?

British Council Singapore is an internationally recognised English-language and cultural organisation. Its teaching staff are generally qualified English-language educators, though specific tutor credentials — such as CELTA, DELTA, degree discipline, or years of classroom experience — are not detailed in this listing. If the qualifications of individual camp facilitators matter to your decision, it is reasonable to ask British Council directly about the teaching team assigned to the specific programme you are considering, including their experience with the relevant age group and any syllabus alignment (such as Cambridge English frameworks).
