About CH Tan Medical Clinic and Dental Surgery Bukit Batok

About CH Tan Medical Clinic and Dental Surgery Bukit Batok

CH Tan Medical Clinic and Dental Surgery Bukit Batok is a GP and dental clinic located at 177 Bukit Batok West Ave 8, serving residents in the Bukit Batok area and the wider west of Singapore. The clinic has been verified by KakiList, meaning a real person has confirmed its operating details and contact channel. For a first visit, patients typically call ahead to confirm consultation hours and queue availability. A GP consultation covers presenting complaints, clinical examination, prescriptions, and referral letters where a specialist or polyclinic pathway is needed. The clinic also offers dental surgery alongside its general practice, so it is worth confirming at the point of booking which service — medical or dental — you require and whether a specific practitioner handles each discipline. Patients wishing to use their Integrated Shield Plan, MediSave, or CHAS card should confirm eligibility and co-payment amounts with the clinic directly before attending, as coverage terms vary by plan and the type of treatment rendered.

To make an appointment or check same-day walk-in availability, call the clinic directly using the contact number listed on this page.

doctor kept emphasising if i wanted mc i should have came earlier in the morning. i said no its okay i dont need mc, i just need medicine for pain relief. he repeated the mc question thrice. got angry and asked him "do you think im here for the mc? i can go elsewhere if you dont want to give me medicine for pain relief" then he just said "ok gogogo" 🤡 new to the clinic, i didnt realise the step there, so i sprained my ankle so bad and cried so loud but none bother to come out and check. luckily they are closing down end Nov. good riddance. not fit to treat people medically.

The worst doctor I have ever been to, this Dr Tan was very rude, and gave no useful medical advice. He saw fit to scold me while I was unwell and told me I should have come earlier even though I had been waiting for an hour. I was waiting they turned off the fan and lights in the waiting area. His clinic is dirty and certainly a waste of valuable retail space.

Came to the clinic for my sick child. After consultation, I was shock when they showed me the bottles prescribed. Medicine bottle was only a quarter filled and some not filled to correct proportion. It does not make sense your paying $39 for bottles that are barely half. The male doctor expects me to go for another consultation to get a refill. Told me to leave without paying despite me requesting for a proper amount of medicine and willing to pay as per request. Wasted my time and didn't manage to get medication for my child here. Poor attitude, not professional, poor listening, poor assessment of my child sickness and poor behaviour from front desk. Never come to this hell hole.

Went in for 10min and dentist refused to do cleaning and polish for me. I have already rushed down yet they can’t wait to go home. Take painkiller is the only advise given to me. Perhaps, they are rushing home to cook and refused to do treatment for me. So wasted $25 for her to give me such meaningful advice

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does CH Tan Medical Clinic and Dental Surgery Bukit Batok charge?

GP consultation fees at private and GP clinics in Singapore typically run S$25–60 per visit, with dental consultations and procedures billed separately — a routine dental check and scale-and-polish typically costs S$60–150, while more involved procedures such as extractions or fillings range from S$80 to S$300 or more depending on complexity. Investigations ordered on top of the consultation — blood tests, urine cultures, X-rays — are billed additionally. CHAS Blue, Orange, and Merdeka Generation cardholders receive subsidised rates at participating GP clinics; confirm with the clinic whether it is a CHAS-accredited provider before attending. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient treatments under the MediSave 500 withdrawal limit and for chronic disease management under the CDMP. No specific pricing is published for this clinic — contact them directly for current rates. See the full GP and 24-hour clinic cost guide for Singapore →

Is CH Tan Medical Clinic and Dental Surgery Bukit Batok MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

Every legitimate clinic operating in Singapore is required to hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. Every practising doctor must also appear on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm registration status, any specialist accreditation, and disciplinary history. Dental practitioners are separately registered with the Singapore Dental Council (SDC). No regulatory licence details are currently recorded for this listing, which is a gap worth resolving before your first appointment. Both the MOH clinic licence and the named doctor's or dentist's registration are public records — a quick search on the respective registers takes under two minutes and gives you reasonable confidence before attending. Confirm both the clinic licence and the consulting practitioner's registration before booking.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at CH Tan Medical Clinic and Dental Surgery Bukit Batok?

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life primarily cover inpatient and day-surgery costs; outpatient GP visits at private clinics are generally not claimable under standard IP plans unless a rider specifically includes outpatient coverage. CHAS subsidies for GP visits are available to eligible Singapore Citizens — confirm at the front desk whether the clinic participates in the CHAS scheme. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient chronic disease consultations under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which covers conditions including hypertension, diabetes, lipid disorders, asthma, and others, up to S$700 per year for eligible patients. Routine GP consultations and dental treatments are generally not MediSave-claimable. For any planned dental procedure of significant cost, request a written treatment plan with an itemised fee breakdown before proceeding. Skipping the insurance and MediSave check before attending is the most common reason patients are surprised by their out-of-pocket bill.
