When enquiring about a holiday camp, it helps to clarify your child's age group and the specific programme or theme you have in mind, as camp offerings typically vary by school holiday period. Ask whether sessions are structured as single-day drop-ins or multi-day blocks, whether the group size is capped, and what the instructor-to-child ratio looks like. It is also worth confirming what materials or equipment are included in the fee, whether a trial or taster session is available before committing to a full camp block, and what the policy is if your child cannot attend on a particular day due to illness.
To check availability and secure a place for the next school holiday period, reach out to Chalk N Pencils directly via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form on their listing — places at popular holiday camps tend to fill quickly once school-term dates are confirmed.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
We really enjoyed the parent–child painting session here. My daughter and I had such a meaningful bonding time—lots of laughter, especially since we both had zero experience! With the guidance of the supportive and encouraging mentors, we managed to complete our paintings and now proudly hang them at home. The experience taught us to appreciate our effort and focus on the good aspects of our work. These are memories we will always cherish. Highly recommended for parents and children looking to create something special together. 🎨💛
I started my beginner oil painting in May, and right before relocating in early Nov to another country I was able to complete 3 oil paintings. I’ve loved going to the studio in New Bahru every Sunday and spend those 3 hours learning from Pris on blending colors and small little details of knowledge to paint better. It was a bitter sweet to end my oil painting journey, and lessons were extremely affordable as well and the studio has positive environment conducive for both adult and children learning. I would highly recommend adults and parents looking to embark on a creative learning with Chalks and pencils!
Pris was a very patient teacher and is a skilled artist who guides me and my wife in developing understanding of color, composition and different painting mediums such as oil and watercolor. She demonstrate the methods step-by-step before letting us try by ourself. Very fulfilling to be able to complete the art piece🤗
I did the four-hour trial and it was a fabulous and rewarding experience! My instructor Priscilla is a great artist and seasoned teacher. She knows how to explain techniques in a way laymen like me can understand! She's patient, and she let me try and learn from my mistakes. She always managed to rescue me at just the right moment! I did an oil and learnt a lot about mixing colours, which is an integral part of oil painting. I am so so happy I went to Chalk n Pencils New Bahru for lessons. The studio is warm and welcoming. And it's so inspiring to see what other "painters" were doing. If anyone of you out there is wondering whether you have any artistic talent in you, stop thinking! Go to Chalk n Pencils and you'll find your potential!
It was our very first time doing an outdoor painting session together with my child at Chalk n Pencil. It turned out to be a delightful and meaningful experience—we had so much fun! The instructor was incredibly patient, explaining and demonstrating everything clearly. We even learned a few new techniques in drawing and coloring. Such a precious memory for us both. ❤️

Pricing for holiday camps is typically structured as a per-day rate or a multi-day block package rather than a standard per-session fee. The cost will vary depending on the programme theme, duration, and age group. It is common for providers to charge separately for materials or consumables used during the camp, so confirm upfront whether these are bundled into the stated price. Sibling discounts or early-bird rates for booking ahead of the holiday period are worth asking about. Chalk N Pencils displays a mid-range price indicator, but for exact figures, contact them directly via WhatsApp or the enquiry form. See the full Holiday Camps cost guide for Singapore →
Trial or taster sessions are not always offered for holiday camps, since programmes are often designed as cohesive multi-day experiences where skills build across the week. However, it is worth asking Chalk N Pencils whether a single-day drop-in option exists for first-time participants, or whether there is a refund or transfer policy if the camp turns out not to be the right fit. When assessing fit, consider whether the activity level and content match your child's interests and current abilities, and whether the group size allows for meaningful engagement with the instructor. Reading through the 159 Google reviews — rated 4.9 out of 5 — may give you a good sense of how past participants experienced the camps.
Chalk N Pencils has not published specific instructor credentials in the current listing data. For holiday camps, relevant background typically includes experience working with children in structured programme settings, relevant subject-matter expertise (arts, sports, STEM, or similar depending on the camp theme), and a valid Working with Children clearance or equivalent safeguarding awareness. It is advisable to ask Chalk N Pencils directly about the qualifications and experience of the instructors running the specific camp your child will attend, the adult-to-child ratio, and any safeguarding or first-aid certifications held by the team before booking.
