Families enquiring about holiday camps should clarify the age range and skill level covered, as chess programmes typically span complete beginners through to competition-track students. It is worth asking whether camps run as group sessions or include any individual coaching time, how many children are in each group, the duration of each daily session, and whether materials or equipment are provided. Parents should also confirm whether camps follow school holiday schedules and what the registration and payment process entails, including any deposit required to secure a place.
To find out about upcoming holiday camp dates and availability, contact Chess at Three directly via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form on their listing.

Teacher Sebastian is really patient with the children and my kid is enjoying all his classes for the past year. The teachers are well trained, the administration is responsive. They run a tight ship in the limited space they have at Novena. They know what they are doing and how to get to the kids. Maybe chess really can be taught at 3!
Teacher Kevin is a gem! My child has been learning chess with Teacher Kevin at Three Chess Singapore, and the progress has been amazing. He’s incredibly patient, encouraging, and explains strategies in a way that’s fun and easy to grasp—even for young beginners. You can tell he truly cares about each student’s growth, not just as chess players but as thinkers. The sessions are always engaging, and my child looks forward to every class. Thank you, Teacher Kevin, for making chess such a meaningful and enjoyable journey!
Signed my child for the chess class and he enjoyed it tremendously. They make it fun for children to learn. Recommended!
We have two children attending this program. Chess at Three does an amazing job keeping kids engaged in the game with fun stories and variant games to keep things fresh for the kids while also teaching core chess knowledge. The staff not only knows their chess, but also know how to help kids learn universal values like handling loss, perseverance, thinking creatively/outside the box, and also how to get along well in groups during competitive play. My kids come away with actual tactical knowledge for real chess tournaments while also telling me stories about the different chess “characters” and what adventures they had during the class. In the past, we had gone to a traditional chess school (which was great!) but the kids could be engaged/disengaged depending on the day. With this program, the kids are always excited to go and view it as fun rather than a form of tutoring/homework. Creating a love for the game I think makes it more likely they will stick with it and become proficient with their skills. Plus they have a fun ‘Birchguard’ quest (separate from the chess lessons), which is like a role playing critical thinking adventure that the kids love. The camps and tournaments are also lots of fun. Highly recommended!
It is more of a storytelling class rather than chess. If you’re looking for your child to learn chess this is not the place, the coaches can barely play chess. If you’re looking for a very fun story telling session this is it, the coaches are really good at their craft at storytelling. I guess we didn’t read the fine print.

Chess at Three displays a '$$' price indicator but does not publish specific session or camp fees publicly. Holiday camp fees in Singapore for structured enrichment programmes typically range from S$200 to S$600 for a multi-day camp, depending on duration, group size, and materials included. It is worth asking whether there is a registration or materials fee on top of the camp fee, and whether sibling discounts or package deals are available for multiple camps in the same holiday period. Chess at Three's trial class policy is not publicly stated, so it is worth asking directly whether a single introductory session is available before signing up for a full holiday camp. When assessing fit, look at whether the child engages with the material, whether the pace matches their current level, and whether the coach explains concepts in a way that holds their attention. For holiday camps specifically, confirm whether the programme is structured for complete beginners, returning students, or a mixed-ability group, as this will significantly affect how much your child gets out of the experience.
Chess at Three's coaches' credentials are not listed publicly. When enquiring, it is reasonable to ask about each coach's competitive chess background, experience teaching children in the relevant age group, and familiarity with the Singapore National Chess Federation's grading system if your child is interested in competitive play. For holiday camps, also ask about the coach-to-student ratio, as smaller groups generally allow for more individual feedback. If credentials are not readily provided, request a short profile or the opportunity to speak with the lead coach before booking.
