About ChiefTutor

About ChiefTutor

ChiefTutor is a tuition centre operating islandwide from its premises at 6001 Beach Road, #15-01, Singapore 199589. It holds KakiList verification, meaning operating details and contact channels have been confirmed by a real person. The centre carries a Google rating of 4.8 out of 5 across 60 reviews, which represents a moderate sample and can be treated with reasonable confidence. Fees are displayed at the moderate ($$) price range; prospective families should enquire directly for exact session or monthly rates.

When considering ChiefTutor, begin by enquiring whether the centre covers your child's current level and the relevant syllabus — whether that is the standard MOE curriculum, PSLE preparation, O-Level, A-Level, IB, or IGCSE. Ask whether the format available is group tuition or one-to-one, as this affects both pace and price. Clarify whether a trial class is available before committing to a full term, and confirm the term length and any advance payment required. If travel is a consideration, the Beach Road location is accessible by public transport, though the centre's islandwide coverage should also be discussed to determine whether any other arrangements are possible.

To take the next step, reach out to ChiefTutor via phone or the online enquiry form to check availability for your child's level, ask about a trial class, and request a full breakdown of fees before committing to any term.

Building Apps with AI was a fun workshop. Really practical and really rewarding to see how to prototype rapidly, especially for someone who’s not from a tech background.

I completed the UX Design course Singapore offered by CuriousCore’s Career Accelerator. It really helped me get up to speed on industry-standard practices — which was exactly what I was looking for. The hands-on experience working with real clients was especially valuable and gave me practical skills I could apply immediately.

I was part of a 4-month UX Accelerator program. I found the course instructors helpful and approachable, but I didn’t feel sufficiently prepared for the job market. There was only one instructor for my cohort, who frequently gave feedback that told students their work was good enough. I wish the course had been more intense and the feedback more critical, given how competitive the market is now. There was also little emphasis placed on UI skills, which are what many prospective employers look for in junior designers. Furthermore, the instructor encouraged the idea that course graduates could apply for mid-level UI/UX design roles after graduation, especially for career transitioners, which is hardly the case. I’m not sure if my frustrations stem from the oversaturation of UI/UX designers in the job market, the economy, my expectations, or something else. Many of my course mates were working full-time, which understandably left them tired during class, though this added to my frustrations. The client portfolio projects were the most interesting parts of the course and could help pad your portfolio with some recognizable brand names and real projects. There were also guest lectures, an alumni network, and some career counseling offered as part of the package. Overall, the program has its strengths, but I feel it could benefit from being more intense, with a stronger focus on UI skills, and more rigour to better prepare students for the job market. Posting this anonymously as the course lead has a lot of connections in the design community

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does ChiefTutor charge per session?

ChiefTutor displays pricing at the moderate ($$) range, but exact per-session, monthly package, or term fees are not publicly listed and should be confirmed directly with the centre. Tuition centres in Singapore typically charge on a per-session or monthly basis, with group classes generally more affordable than one-to-one sessions. Ask whether a trial class is available and whether it is charged at the standard rate or offered at a reduced fee. Also check whether there are additional costs for materials, workbooks, or mock examination papers, and whether sibling or multi-subject discounts apply. Some centres require a deposit or advance payment for a full term. See the full Tuition Centers cost guide for Singapore →

Can I try a class before committing?

Many tuition centres in Singapore offer a trial class, sometimes at a reduced or waived fee, before a family commits to a full term. It is worth asking ChiefTutor directly whether this option is available and what it costs. During a trial class, observe whether the pace suits your child's current level, whether the teaching style encourages participation, and whether the class size allows adequate individual attention. Use the session to gauge how well the tutor explains concepts your child finds difficult, and how your child responds to the environment afterwards. A single trial class may not reveal everything, but it is a practical first filter before committing to a term fee.

What are the tutors' credentials at ChiefTutor?

Tutor credentials are not listed in the publicly available information for ChiefTutor. When enquiring, ask directly whether tutors hold NIE training or have prior MOE teaching experience, what their academic qualifications are in the subjects they teach, and how many years they have been teaching at this level. Also confirm which syllabuses they are aligned to — for example, MOE, IB, IGCSE, or AP. If your child is preparing for a high-stakes examination such as PSLE, O-Levels, or A-Levels, syllabus familiarity and recent exam paper experience are particularly important. Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
