Engaging a confinement nanny typically begins several months before your due date. Demand for experienced nannies is high, and popular practitioners are often booked six to twelve months in advance, so early contact is advisable. The standard engagement covers a 28-day period, though some families opt for a 56-day arrangement depending on recovery needs. Before confirming a booking, it is worth interviewing the proposed nanny to assess compatibility — covering dietary tradition (Cantonese, Hokkien, or other), herbal soup recipes, overnight newborn care duties, and any specific preferences around postpartum recovery. Confirm all terms in writing, including food responsibilities, overnight arrangements, and what happens if the nanny is unwell during the engagement.
To enquire about availability, reach Chilli Padi Confinement by phone or through their online contact form, referencing your expected delivery date so they can advise on current nanny availability and package options.
Interview the nanny before booking, agree the food and overnight terms in writing.

Did a 28 day dual confinement meal plan. Food is delivered on time and I look forward to my meals everyday. Quantity was more than enough, food is nutritious and tasty but the vegetables could be less oily. My favourite dishes were the pork trotter vinegar and anything with sea bass - it was so flavourful and well cooked. Service was great too, I contacted them a couple times via FB messenger and they reply promptly. Overall highly recommended for the nourishment and convenience!
I ordered from Chilli Padi Confinement (14 days) from 14 Nov 2025 to 27 Nov 2025 and overall had a positive experience. Customer service is excellent. I requested to start on Day 8 of the menu (Nourish menu) and change the white rice to brown rice. My meals were always delivered within the stated time frame of 10am–1pm, consistently arriving around 12 noon, which was very convenient as I could have my lunch on time without any delays. The food also came in a thermal container, so it was always warm upon arrival. However, the taste and texture of the food were not fully to my liking. The brown rice was too hard, some dishes were too bland and the vegetables were quite tough to chew. The longan red date tea was also too sweet for my preference. Still, the reliability of delivery and food temperature were great so I’m giving it 4 stars.
Getting confinement meal plan from Chilli Padi is one of the best decision we made. My wife loves it so much that she is even considering to extend the plan. - Every dish has its own unique taste yet healthy. - The portion is just nice - Delivery is right on time. - They come in insulated container which is a huge bonus. (Not in a single use plastic containers like others). Loves everything about this.
Highly recommended. High quality ingredients and well cooked. I don't eat Chinese dishes regularly for meals and was worried that I will be sick of the food but the menu has many variety. The portion is large for 1 pax and I sometimes share it with my hubby or my toddlers so great value for money. Also, I picked chilli padi because it comes in reusable containers.
2nd time ordering Chili Padi confinement as the experience the first time was pretty pleasant. Food always came hot and is still hot when i start to feast. Deliveryman was very polite to knock on the door instead of ringing the doorbell which i believe is to avoid disturbing the baby. In terms of taste, i would say overall 7/10. Variety can be repetitive for the vegetable dish (snow peas and kailan which was drenched in quite a bit of sesame oil - supposedly good for you), and there were a few soups that were 2 dimensional (or too spicy! for my liking). The meats / fish were pretty flavourful in general and variety is quite wide. Lastly, i like that they prepare the red date soup for both meals. Pretty much drinking that through the day, and flask keeps the drink warm. Overall, value for money for the price paid as it helps ease my load on food preparation / planning what to eat, especially when i do not have a nanny to help me out. Confinement nanny packages in Singapore typically range from S$3,500 to S$6,500 for a standard 28-day engagement, with 56-day arrangements available at a higher total cost. Chilli Padi Confinement operates on a package pricing model at the mid-range tier — contact them directly for the current quoted rate, as pricing can vary depending on the nanny's experience level and your specific requirements. Confirm what is included in the package: overnight newborn care, baby bathing, preparation of the mother's meals and herbal soups, and confinement food ingredients are sometimes bundled, sometimes billed separately. Ask about any surcharges for public holidays falling within the engagement period. See the full confinement nanny cost guide for Singapore →
Booking four to six months before your due date is the minimum recommended lead time, and families targeting experienced nannies should aim for six to twelve months ahead. Confinement nanny availability is constrained — a single nanny can only take one booking per 28-day period, so supply is genuinely limited during peak birth months. During the enquiry process, Chilli Padi Confinement will typically facilitate an interview between you and the proposed nanny before any deposit is paid. Use that conversation to discuss dietary tradition (Cantonese herbal soups versus other regional styles), overnight responsibilities, food allergies, and any special postpartum recovery requests. Agree all preferences in writing before confirming the booking.
Confinement nanny certification is not government-mandated in Singapore, but reputable agencies vet nannies for relevant experience, food hygiene awareness, and newborn care competency. Ask Chilli Padi Confinement specifically about the proposed nanny's years of experience, the number of confinements completed, and any formal training she holds. On replacement: agency-placed nannies carry the significant advantage of a defined replacement policy if a genuine mismatch arises — confirm the window during which a replacement can be requested and what circumstances qualify. Freelance nannies booked directly offer no such recourse. Clarify the agency's process in writing before paying any deposit, including what constitutes a valid ground for replacement versus a request the agency would decline.
