About Clifford Dispensary Shaw House Orchard

About Clifford Dispensary Shaw House Orchard

Clifford Dispensary Shaw House Orchard is a general practice clinic located on the 15th floor of Shaw House on Orchard Road, serving patients across Singapore. The clinic is KakiList-verified, confirming that operating details and contact channels have been checked. With 57 Google reviews and a rating of 2.9 out of 5, the review sample is moderate in size, though the rating sits below the typical range for well-regarded private GP clinics and warrants attention before booking.

For a first visit, patients typically walk in or call ahead to confirm waiting times. A GP consultation covers presenting symptoms, examination, prescriptions where indicated, and referral letters to specialist outpatient clinics or private specialists if a higher level of care is needed. As a general practice, Clifford Dispensary is well placed for acute illness, minor injuries, routine prescriptions, and medical certificates. Patients with chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, or hyperlipidaemia may enquire about Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) coverage, which allows MediSave withdrawal of up to S$700 per year for qualifying outpatient visits. Integrated Shield Plan (IP) holders should confirm whether the clinic is a recognised panel provider before attending, as this affects reimbursement.

Contact the clinic directly by phone to check current consultation hours, queue status, and whether your specific insurance panel is accepted before making your way to Shaw House.

We had a very positive experience with Dr Lee. He was extremely patient, took the time to go through my dad's medical records in detail, and explained everything clearly without rushing the consultation. I really appreciated how thorough and attentive he was, which made my dad feel reassured and well taken care of. The Malay nurse was also wonderful. She was kind, warm, and had a lovely sense of humour that made the visit much more comfortable.

Very terrible during registration. Was there previously and I entered the Clinic but was told off by the nurse to stand outside and wait for registration. Today I came first and waited outside around 0825 because the door says close but some ppl just enter and register at the counter. By then there were already 5 ppl ahead of me. I waited for more than an hour and was standing outside for about 20 minutes. Anyways, I don't think the clinic cares but I still want to leave my review. Food for thoughts...

I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for Dr. Lee. Dr Lee is truly one of the best doctors I've ever encountered—empathetic, caring, and always willing to listen. Dr. Lee makes every appointment a positive experience with his genuine approach to patient care. However, I do have to mention that the front desk staff could do some improvement. I’ve encountered some rude and unsympathetic interactions that detract from the overall experience. It’s unfortunate because Dr. lee's exceptional care deserves to be matched by a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the staff. Overall, I highly recommend Dr.Lee & Dr Wong for their outstanding medical care, but I hope that the clinic can address the front desk lack of customer service issues to enhance the experience for all patients.

terrible experience, went because it was the panel doctor nearest to my house. for context i went twice because i have a had a cold for about a week and everytime i go she only gives me 1 day mc, she doesn’t listen to anything the patient says and gives me prescription medication that i have taken for one week and are still uneffective, on my second visit i tried to tell her the cough syrup makes me sick and she just gave me another one of the same brand. won’t be visiting again

Doctor wong is really nice and helpful. The front desk admins all have serious attitude problem though. They need to change out their admins because it’s such an unpleasant experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Clifford Dispensary Shaw House Orchard charge?

GP consultations at private clinics in Singapore typically run S$25–60, with variations depending on the complexity of the visit, time of day, and whether it falls outside standard hours. Common add-ons billed separately include investigations such as a blood panel (S$60–200), throat or nasal swabs, urine tests, and prescriptions. GST applies on private medical services. Patients using the Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) at an enrolled clinic, or attending via a polyclinic referral to a public hospital SOC, would pay less, but private GP clinics charge at private rates unless they are CHAS-enrolled. Confirm whether CHAS is accepted when you call ahead. For any planned investigation, request a cost estimate in writing before proceeding. Is Clifford Dispensary Shaw House Orchard MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

No regulatory licences are currently listed for Clifford Dispensary Shaw House Orchard on this listing. Every legitimate clinic operating in Singapore must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act, verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. Every practising doctor must be registered with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) — searchable by name at smc.gov.sg, which also shows specialist accreditation and any disciplinary records. Before booking, verify both the clinic's MOH licence and the consulting doctor's SMC registration independently. The absence of listed licences in this directory does not necessarily mean the clinic is unlicensed, but it does mean you should confirm directly with the clinic and cross-check both registers before attending. Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Clifford Dispensary Shaw House Orchard?

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life can cover private specialist consultations, day surgery, and inpatient stays, subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. For GP visits at a private clinic, IP coverage is generally limited unless the visit leads to an inpatient admission. Confirm with your insurer whether the clinic is on their outpatient panel before attending. MediSave can be withdrawn for selected outpatient conditions under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) — up to S$700 per year for listed conditions including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, asthma, stroke, and selected mental health conditions. For general acute GP visits outside CDMP, MediSave cannot typically be used for outpatient claims at private clinics. Ask the clinic staff at the point of registration which payment methods and insurance panels are accepted, and request an itemised receipt for any insurance or MediSave submission.
