About Cognitus Academy
Cognitus Academy is a private tuition provider serving families across Singapore on an islandwide basis. The academy holds KakiList verified status and is registered with ACRA, offering a degree of assurance for parents seeking academic support. It carries a Google rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 12 reviews — a promising signal, though the sample size is small and should be treated as directional rather than conclusive. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier.
Parents considering Cognitus Academy would typically begin by enquiring about syllabus alignment — whether the tutor covers the MOE curriculum, IGCSE, IB, or another framework — and the appropriate level for their child. It is worth clarifying whether sessions are conducted in a small group or on a one-to-one basis, as this affects both pacing and cost. Families should also confirm whether classes are held at the Goldhill Plaza centre or offered online, and whether a term commitment is required upfront. Asking about a trial class before committing to a package is a sensible first step to assess teaching style and level appropriateness.
To get started, reach out to Cognitus Academy via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to ask about current availability, syllabus coverage, and trial class options at their Goldhill Plaza centre.

I came to know Dr Daniel from a recommendation by my bestie who knew that my son needed more professional help than what regular tuition centre could provide. My son's English results was not consistent, ranging and yo-yo between C5 to A2 in Sec 1 & 2 under another popular tuition centre. He couldnt find the proper answering technique in compre until he joined Dr Daniel's class in the beginning of Sec 3. I love that Dr Daniel is a very caring teacher who sincerely wanted the best for his students. Every compo was marked with a grade and feedback and the students were to return with a 2nd draft for another round of marking. My son was not taught to copy paste from model essay, but to write & improve on his own. My son's essay-writing improved tremendously after dutifully listened to Dr Daniel. Dr Daniel also gave him a lot of additional support by marking additional exam papers that my son did, going thru his work and oral practices via Zoom, even when its late into the night at 10pm. With improved skills and boosted confidence, he managed to secure an A1 for O levels after 2yrs. Thank u Dr Daniel 🙏
I would like to share some feedback about the Jump Start Holiday Program. The first two days went well. However, she mentioned that today’s teacher seemed disengaged, and even rested her head on the table while the students were writing their composition. This is worrying, especially since we enrolled with the expectation of an active and guided learning session.
Forever Grateful to This Amazing Tuition Centre! We are incredibly thankful to Cognitus Academy for the tremendous impact they’ve had on our son’s education journey. With their dedicated guidance and unwavering support, our son achieved his dream grade for English in the PSLE—a goal he had worked so hard for and secured a spot in the IP route in secondary school. It was a proud and emotional moment for our family, and we know it wouldn’t have been possible without the centre’s expert teaching and encouragement. What sets this centre apart is not just their academic excellence, but the way they genuinely care about each student’s progress. The tutors are patient, passionate, and always go the extra mile. They helped build our son’s confidence, sharpen his writing skills, and develop a strong foundation in English that continues to benefit him now in secondary school. He’s still attending classes at the centre because he enjoys learning there and continues to grow. We’re so grateful to have found such a nurturing and effective learning environment. Thank you for being such a big part of his success!
I joined Dr Daniel’s class in Sec 2 and was able to have an engaging and educational time and learning English here. Since then, my English has improved from an E8 to an A2. Dr Daniel is very nice to us as students and also discuss with us about our future careers and also promoting to JC or Poly. I think that he is a great teacher and this is a recommendation to those looking for an English tuition. I just want to let whoever is reading this no that this was not a biased review and this all came from my heart as I want to give a Thank You for helping me improve my English.
My kid was in P6 under Dr. Daniel's guidance. He is a patient, fun, encouraging and effective teacher. I think his class was the only tution lesson my kid enjoyed attending. My kid has improved English grade and managed to do well for the psle. Look forward to the secondary English lesson with him again!.Thank you teacher Daniel!

Cognitus Academy displays a mid-range pricing tier, though specific per-session or monthly package rates are not publicly listed and should be confirmed directly with the academy. In the Singapore private tuition market, rates vary depending on whether sessions are one-to-one or group-based, the academic level covered, and the tutor's experience. One-to-one sessions for secondary or junior college levels can range from S$60 to S$150 or more per hour, while group sessions tend to be more affordable. It is also worth asking whether there is a separate materials fee, whether a term package offers a discount over pay-per-session rates, and whether a trial class carries its own charge. Sibling discounts may be available for families enrolling more than one child. See the full private tutors cost guide for Singapore →
Many tuition providers in Singapore offer a trial class — either at a reduced rate or as part of the first session fee — before parents commit to a term or package. It is worth asking Cognitus Academy directly whether a trial class is available and what it costs. During a trial session, pay attention to whether the tutor's explanations match your child's learning pace, whether the level of difficulty is appropriate, and whether your child feels comfortable asking questions. Teaching style varies considerably between tutors, and a single session usually gives a reasonable indication of fit before any longer commitment is made.
Cognitus Academy's specific tutor qualifications are not detailed in the publicly available listing. When enquiring, parents should ask whether tutors hold a degree in the relevant subject, whether any have NIE training or prior MOE school teaching experience, and how many years each tutor has been teaching the particular syllabus — whether MOE, IGCSE, IB, or otherwise. Syllabus alignment matters as much as general subject knowledge; a tutor familiar with the current MOE examination format and marking scheme is better placed to target exam technique. If your child sits an alternative curriculum, confirm this directly before booking. Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
