About Dog Listener Consultancy
Dog Listener Consultancy is a pet training service operating islandwide across Singapore, listed as KakiList verified and registered with ACRA. It holds a Google rating of 4.9 out of 5 across 370 reviews — a robust sample that provides meaningful confidence in the rating. The service is priced at a moderate level (indicated by $$), though specific per-session fees are not publicly listed and should be confirmed directly with the provider.
When reaching out, it helps to share your dog's size, breed, and general temperament upfront, as these factors can influence the approach to training and the recommended programme. If your dog has any known behavioural concerns — such as reactivity, anxiety, or aggression — noting these at the outset allows the trainer to assess fit before a session is booked. Vaccination records are typically required before training begins, so have these ready. Clarify whether sessions are conducted at your home, at a fixed location, or through drop-off arrangements, and ask about recurring schedules if you are looking for ongoing support rather than a one-off consultation.
To take the next step, reach out to Dog Listener Consultancy via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form. Describe your dog's profile and your training goals so the team can recommend the most suitable programme and confirm availability.
Visit the facility, check the vaccination policy, and confirm insurance before drop-off.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! First engaged Ricky (a long-time idol for what he has done with ASD haha) for private classes to tackle my dog's separation anxiety. Within DAYS of Ricky's diagnosis, my dog stopped the incessant barking and whining whenever he was alone. Ricky was literally our life saver!!! Couldn't stop singing his praises to everyone. So impressed we were that we signed my dog for group basic obedience class. The 6 weeks were again filled with passionate teaching, practical lessons and valuable socialistion with other dogs. Each dog was given the appropriate time and attention for individual issues, and we could always stay back after class or text for further queries. For our specific issues we were given unique advice on how to "treat" the issue. Ricky doesn't teach just normal obedience commands but includes nutrition, feeding, socialisation, all using positive reinforcement methods and with the dog's welfare in mind. My dog is now better behaved, can walk nicely without pulling on the leash, is less reactive towards other dogs, and can do commands, all brought about by his respect towards me, nurtured by wisdom from Ricky. 😃
We’ve had a great experience with Ricky as our dog obedience trainer over the last 6 weeks. He worked with our dog, Toffee, and we’ve seen real improvements in his behavior, focus, and confidence. Ricky is patient, knowledgeable, and explains things in a way that’s easy for both dogs and owners to understand. The classes were well-structured and practical, and Ricky always took time to answer questions and give helpful tips. We’d highly recommend him to anyone looking for effective and positive dog training.
We’re very happy with the dog obedience training provided. The trainer was professional, patient, and explained everything clearly, making it easy for us to continue training at home. Our dog is now calmer, more responsive, and better behaved during walks. The training was practical and effective—definitely worth it. Would recommend to any dog owner!
Ricky is an exceptionally knowledgeable dog trainer who really taught life-long dog owners like me so many new things. His teaching techniques were great and really helped develop our puppy’s behaviour into a well rounded and structured dog. Thank you for all your help.
Ricky is an experienced, loving instructor. His course has helped my puppy become a more calm furfriend and a great member of the family! He also has a soft spot for shelter dogs!

Dog Listener Consultancy does not publicly list its per-session rates, so you will need to enquire directly for a quote. In the Singapore market, dog training sessions typically range from S$80 to S$250 per session depending on whether the programme is one-to-one or group-based, the trainer's experience level, and whether sessions are conducted at your home or at a fixed venue. Package pricing across multiple sessions generally offers a lower per-session cost than booking individually. Additional costs to clarify include any transport charges if the trainer travels to your location, and whether an initial behavioural assessment is billed separately. For dogs attending training sessions — particularly in group or facility-based settings — trainers in Singapore commonly require proof of up-to-date DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, and parainfluenza) vaccination as well as rabies vaccination. Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccination is frequently requested when dogs will be in close contact with other animals, such as in group classes or shared spaces. Vaccinations are generally expected to have been administered within the past 12 months. Bring your dog's vaccination booklet or a letter from your veterinarian to the first session. If your dog's records are not current, arrange a vet visit before booking to avoid any delay in starting the programme.
Dog Listener Consultancy is registered with ACRA and has been verified by KakiList, confirming that its operating details and contact channels are genuine. In Singapore, the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) under the National Parks Board administers licensing requirements primarily for boarding and grooming facilities. No AVS boarding licence is listed for this provider, which is consistent with its focus on training rather than boarding. Before your first session, it is reasonable to ask the provider directly about professional indemnity or liability insurance, and to understand the protocol in place should your dog sustain an injury or become unwell during a session. Visit the facility or session venue, check the vaccination policy, and confirm insurance before drop-off.
