About Dr Garys Family Clinic

About Dr Garys Family Clinic

Dr Garys Family Clinic is a general practice located at Blk 77 Indus Rd, #01-519, in the Tanjong Pagar / Kreta Ayer area. The clinic has been verified by KakiList and holds a 4.8-star rating across 66 Google reviews, which represents a moderate sample. No regulatory licence information has been provided to KakiList at this time, so prospective patients are advised to confirm the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and the consulting doctor's Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration directly before booking.

For a first visit to a GP clinic, patients typically walk in or call ahead to check waiting times. The GP will take a brief history, carry out a physical examination, and — where indicated — order investigations such as a blood panel or urine test, or refer to a specialist at a polyclinic or private hospital. Common presentations handled at family clinics include acute illness (fever, respiratory infections, gastroenteritis), chronic disease management under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) for conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidaemia, and routine health screening. MediSave can be used for outpatient CDMP-listed conditions up to S$700 per year, and Integrated Shield Plan coverage may apply for specialist referrals that follow from the consultation.

Comprehensive manner in explaining condition both acute and chronic, therapeutic way of approach in diagnosing a certain ailment, properly elaborated medical jargons as well. Its my first time but Im totally pleased and impressed. I appreciate you Doctor Gary!

I visited the doctor today for flu symptoms and a sore throat after OTC medication proved ineffective. During the consultation, I was instructed to blow my nose, but there was no mucus as I had already cleared it before arriving. I was then told the condition would only be considered serious if I had green mucus throughout the day, which felt like an oversimplified assessment of my symptoms. The consultation was also frustrating, as the doctor repeatedly asked me what medication I needed. If I already knew what treatment was required, I would not have sought medical advice in the first place. His conclusion—that my condition was not serious simply because no mucus appeared at that moment—did not feel thorough or reassuring. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. I do not visit a clinic unnecessarily, and if I wanted a superficial assessment or fake an mc, I could have opted for a teleconsultation instead.

Dr. Gary is a very good physician. He would explain you the cause of illness. Has been helpful twice in treating my 2y old but the women at the reception keeps a very straight face and never answers the phone and gets irritated if you ask her anything more than once.

Dr Gary is thorough, knowledgeable and experienced. I'm pleased that he's my SG Healthier doctor. I'd recommend him as a family doctor.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Dr Garys Family Clinic charge?

GP consultations at private family clinics in Singapore typically run S$25–60 per visit, with additional charges for investigations (blood panel S$60–200, urine dipstick S$10–20, throat swab S$20–40), prescribed medications, and any minor procedures. Follow-up visits for chronic disease management under CDMP are usually priced similarly to a standard consultation. GST applies on private medical services. For planned investigations or referrals, ask for an itemised breakdown of consultation, diagnostics, and medication costs before you pay. MediSave can offset selected outpatient charges under the S$500 general withdrawal limit or S$700 for CDMP-listed conditions. See the full GP & 24-Hour Clinics cost guide for Singapore →

Is Dr Garys Family Clinic MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

Every legitimate GP clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. Every practising doctor must be registered on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg — search by name to confirm registration status and any disciplinary history. No licence details have been provided to KakiList for Dr Garys Family Clinic at this time. Before your first visit, look up the clinic on the MOH licensee directory and confirm the consulting doctor's name on the SMC register. Both checks take under two minutes and are the baseline standard for any private medical provider in Singapore.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Dr Garys Family Clinic?

MediSave can be used at GP clinics for outpatient treatment of CDMP-listed chronic conditions — hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, stroke, asthma, COPD, and several others — up to S$700 per patient per year (or S$500 for general outpatient use). Confirm at the clinic whether your condition qualifies and whether the clinic is a CDMP-accredited provider. Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life generally cover inpatient stays and day surgery rather than routine GP visits, though some plans include an outpatient rider — check your specific plan's terms with your insurer. For any specialist referral arising from your GP visit, pre-authorise with your IP insurer before the specialist appointment to avoid post-treatment claim disputes.
