About DR+ Medical and Paincare Bishan
DR+ Medical and Paincare Bishan is a GP and paincare clinic located at 121 Bishan Street 12, serving residents across Bishan and the surrounding districts. The clinic holds a 4.0/5 rating across 143 Google reviews, which represents a robust sample and provides a reasonable basis for comparison. No ACRA registration or MOH Healthcare Services Licence has been confirmed in the listing data provided, and prospective patients are advised to verify both the clinic's MOH licensing and the consulting doctor's Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration before booking.
Patients typically contact the clinic by WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to confirm appointment availability and whether their condition falls within the clinic's scope of GP and pain management services. For straightforward acute consultations — fever, respiratory illness, minor injury — a walk-in is usually acceptable. For pain-related complaints, the clinic's paincare focus suggests a more structured first consultation covering symptom history, functional impact, and likely investigative steps such as blood work or referral imaging. If your condition requires a specialist referral, confirm whether the clinic issues referral letters to restructured hospitals or private specialists, and whether a CDMP arrangement is in place for chronic conditions covered under MediSave outpatient withdrawal limits. Integrated Shield Plan holders should check whether the clinic is on their insurer's panel for GP claims.
To proceed, contact DR+ Medical and Paincare Bishan via WhatsApp or phone to confirm current appointment slots, the consulting doctor's name and SMC registration, and whether your condition or insurance plan is supported before attending.
Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
Dr Xavier is the best doctor. He is very understanding and knowledgeable. He doesn’t rush you when it your turn to have the consult and he doesn’t rush take proper care of you. Today I went in as a follow up visit because I just needed a memo. He understood my situation and even waived off the consultation fee. I am really grateful. I will always go to Dr Xavier for all my GP needs. He is the best!
I had read previous review before writing review with my own experience and I can confirm this clinic has terrible receptionist. Just like the other negative reviews I had a really bad experience from this Clinic, staff were unfriendly, unwilling to help and show unhappy face “Malay staff” when I came down to check if my company medical claim eligible for this clinic or being part of the panel, I cannot show my e-card due to technical issue I just showed her part of the app indicates my name and company name or group Im representing she Answer me with high voice tone “WE NEED E-CARD!” I totally understand maybe thats your rules to present e-card first. But to show attitude like that is bad reputation for the clinic!
My in laws went to see Dr Xavier who helped her to remove stitches on her forehead. He was very careful and checked her records properly before removing the stitches. His consultation fee is also very reasonable and was patient with them. It is not easy to find a Doctor who knows how to remove stitches so really grateful to him.
Thank you, Dr. Xavier Chua, for being so kind and always making time to connect. Even though I don’t visit this clinic often, I always appreciate that Dr. Xavier takes a moment to really connect with me. A family physician is more than just treating a condition; it’s about trust and a human connection. Thank you for making me feel comfortable to chat. Great job. 👏
Dr Xavier has awesome bedside manners. He was very gentle and showed lots of concern for my child. Also listened patiently to the conditions without judgement. Clinic staff was also very professional, helpful and nice. Highly recommend.

GP consultations at private clinics in Singapore typically run S$25–60, with private specialist or pain-focused first consultations ranging from S$120–250. The listing shows a mid-range price indicator, but an exact fee schedule has not been confirmed in the available data — contact the clinic directly for current rates. Beyond the base consultation, common add-ons include investigations such as blood panels (S$60–200), X-rays (S$80–150), and any prescribed medications. For pain management, additional procedures or injections would be itemised separately. GST applies to private medical services. For any planned procedure or investigation, ask for a written cost estimate that splits what your Integrated Shield Plan, MediSave, and out-of-pocket portions will each cover before proceeding. No MOH Healthcare Services Licence or Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration has been confirmed in the listing data for this provider. Both are mandatory for a legitimate clinic operating in Singapore — the MOH licence applies to the clinic premises and is verifiable on the MOH licensee directory, while each practising doctor must appear on the SMC public register at smc.gov.sg. Before booking, search the consulting doctor's name on the SMC register to confirm active registration status, specialist accreditation if relevant, and any disciplinary history. Also check the MOH licensee directory for the clinic address at 121 Bishan Street 12. The clinic carries a 4.0/5 rating across 143 Google reviews, which is a robust sample and a useful signal of patient experience, but it does not substitute for verifying statutory licences. Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life cover most private specialist consultations, day surgery, and inpatient stays, subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. Confirm pre-authorisation and obtain a Letter of Guarantee from your insurer before any planned procedure to avoid claim disputes after the fact. Also check whether this clinic is on your insurer's GP panel, as panel status affects reimbursement rates for routine visits. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient items under the MediSave 500/700 withdrawal limits — S$500 per year for general outpatient conditions and S$700 per year for conditions covered under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which includes hypertension, diabetes, lipid disorders, asthma, and selected other chronic conditions. For pain management consultations, clarify with the clinic whether the presenting condition qualifies under CDMP. For any planned investigation or procedure, request a financial counselling session so the clinic can provide an itemised pre-treatment estimate splitting insurance, MediSave, and out-of-pocket amounts in writing.
