Doctor is very practical and has a wholistic POV on overall wellbeing. He is very straightforward type and deep dive into my personal life, history briefly before suggesting any tests. A little bit old-school but packed with lifetime if experience. His treatment suggestions was also effective. Instead of medication, he suggested alternative traditional treatment such as meditation and how to combat stressed which triggered my migraine. Now post 3 months, I said my migraine attacked has reduce significantly and he gives me medication on standby in case I couldn't handled it. He also explain about. How it rates to my genes. And ask about family history. Overall my kind of doctor, realist
Highly NOT recommended. Never had such a terrible consultation experience before. The doctor was confrontational from the get-go. I'm not sure if that's just his personality, but his bedside manner left much to be desired. I felt like a suspect in an interrogation with the bad cop. He'd cut me off or interrupt with rapid fire questions. I wasn't able to give a full description of anything and had to rush through my statements as he seemed so impatient. He appeared uninterested and dismissive of any information, getting things wrong even after corrections. He also made assumptions of my condition, for example focusing on my period migraines, ignoring my regular migraines and telling me that they are caused by stress so just "don't be stressed and I'll be fine". Oh, okay then. People pay money for this? I tried to tell him about my smell or motion triggers but he just ignored them. To him, it had to be either stress and/or my period, end of story. Felt like he already made his own conclusions due to my age or gender and nothing I said made a difference. He booked an MRI for me even though he said it will probably show that I'm fine, but (to paraphrase) "if I keep worrying about my brain, it will make me more stressed and trigger more migraines". I was frustrated with this as I'd not worried about my brain before and it was NOT the cause for the escalation of my condition. It was also not why I had even come for this consultation. I was constantly feeling like I had to be on the defensive, which is insane because this is a doctor's appointment, not a debate. He did a few routine neurological tests, blood pressure, eyes etc. Those were fine. The counter staff are nice. Too bad about the doctor. I'm only glad this was covered under insurance because I 100% would not recommend and would not pay for anything here. I'd rather wait a few months to get way better service at the government hospital. Will definitely not come here again.
I am thankful that Dr Yeow took the time to explain and let me decide if I should perform a head-scan. Truth is I didn’t think there is anything in my head, and he agreed my symptoms are not indicative of something serious. However he did mention that if doing the scan would reassure me , we can do it. He is a practical doctor , don’t over diagnose or over sell and he is not rude at all. A little old Skool but still friendly . He took the time to explain the difference in the prescription that I was taking from the Gp and the ones he was giving . Stress was part of the conversation and I believe everyone deals with it differently . ( he is not a shrink btw) The previous comments did scare me and I was gonna cancel my appt but thankfully I didn’t and decided to give it a shot. The whole consultation was like okay for me.
