About EC Family Clinic Geylang

About EC Family Clinic Geylang

EC Family Clinic Geylang is a general practice clinic located at 8 Eunos Crescent, #01-2667, serving the Geylang and Eunos area. The clinic carries a 2.8/5 rating across 165 Google reviews — a robust sample size, though the rating sits notably below the Singapore GP average and warrants careful consideration before booking. No MOH Healthcare Services Licence or SMC registration details are available in the public listing data, and ACRA registration could not be confirmed; prospective patients should verify these directly before attending.

For a first visit, patients typically present with an acute or chronic concern, after which the doctor conducts a consultation, orders investigations where indicated, and issues a prescription or referral. GP clinics under the Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) accept MediSave and CHAS cards for eligible conditions under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), covering conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, and asthma. Patients without a referral letter may access the clinic directly on a walk-in basis, though calling ahead to confirm current waiting times is advisable.

Contact EC Family Clinic Geylang by phone to confirm the clinic's operating hours, CHAS and MediSave acceptance, and the consulting doctor's name and SMC registration before attending.

Rarely comment nor get angry cause always tell myself to be in others’ shoes but this clinic really got to go. Been to this clinic several times cause no choice as this is one of the clinic that’s nearest to our house. Helper went for MMR second dose, appt at 10.45am and we even went early at 10.30am to register. Here I am typing this at 12.30pm without any updates from the clinic. Had to call the clinic myself and was told Dr Heng has some last min procedure until now still hasn’t attend to my helper. What’s the point of scheduling an appointment if it doesn’t make any difference to how long you wait? The clinic has no regard for their patients’ time or commitments. At the very least clinic can do is to let us know and my helper could’ve go for her lunch or come back home first. Not the first time clinic gave such excuses. THIS IS A CLINIC, NOT HOSPITAL WHO HAVE PEOPLE WAITING FOR MORE THAN 2 HOURS, NOT ONCE BUT MORE THAN THRICE. The clinic should seriously review their protocols and stop earning our hard earned money so easily. MOH, please tighten your regulations for such clinic licensing. For your review and actions please.

My family and I have been coming to Dr Heng’s clinic since I was young. He is a very patient, kind, knowledgeable and thoughtful doctor. He remembers us everytime we visit him as well as the issues we had. He puts in lots of effort to explain everything to us and he takes the time to listen to us as well. I commend and respect him for executing his duty as a responsible father by balancing work and family. He puts in the time for his children despite having to settle his work as well. He has even a piano for anyone to play and a Milo machine. He is definitely one of the best in the area! The new counter staff is also very friendly, hardworking and helpful!

I give one star because zero is not an option. The front counter staff wearing protective clothing was unprofessional. Previously, a medicine spoon was placed directly on the counter, which raises hygiene concerns. Walk-in patients are frequently rejected. Even after making an appointment as instructed, I had to wait nearly 4 hours, which is unreasonable. Today, I was rejected again as a walk-in. Patients come to see a doctor because they are unwell, not for casual visits. This experience was very disappointing and needs improvement.

This clinic has no empathy for people. I fell from bicycle across the road of this clinic ( 5 mins Away) and my both knee caps are bleeding . Called the Clinic at 5:53 pm that I need to have a dressing and I will reach the clinic in 5 mins before clinic closes . I was told the y cannot attend to me as there are a few more patients they haven’t seen . I said my knees are bleeding how can they showed no empathy and flexibility to treat people in this profession. Disappointed

Not sure how good Dr Heng is, but it will be in vain if patients are not able to meet him. Tried calling to make an appt in the morning at 9 am but there is no one picking up. Went to the clinic at 9 15 am and was told next appt is at 2 pm. Then received a call to say that the appt is changed to 4 pm. Then another call to say it's changed to 5 30 pm. Reached clinic at 5 15 pm and only overheard the staff talking to each other at 6 pm that the doc car broke down and is taking a train to the clinic. Confronted the counter about the hearsay, no one knows what time the doc will really reach. Staff was Reluctant to check in w doc for time and bluntly gave a guess of 30 mins. Left the clinic at 6 pm feeling despaired.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does EC Family Clinic Geylang charge?

GP consultations at private and CHAS-subsidised GP clinics in Singapore typically run S$25–60 per visit before subsidies. Patients holding a CHAS Blue, Orange, or Merdeka card may pay significantly less for chronic and acute conditions covered under the CHAS framework. Investigations billed on top of the consultation fee include blood panels (S$60–200), urine tests, and X-rays (S$80–150) where clinically indicated. Prescriptions are billed separately and GST applies on private medical services. For any planned investigation or procedure, ask for an estimate of the out-of-pocket cost before proceeding. Is EC Family Clinic Geylang MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

Every legitimate GP clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. Every practising doctor must appear on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm the doctor's registration status, specialty, and any disciplinary history. No licence information is recorded in this listing for EC Family Clinic Geylang, and ACRA registration could not be confirmed. Patients should search the MOH and SMC registers using the clinic address and the consulting doctor's name before attending. This step takes under two minutes and is the most reliable safeguard available.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at EC Family Clinic Geylang?

MediSave can be used for outpatient treatment of chronic conditions covered under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) — including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, asthma, stroke, COPD, and selected mental health conditions — up to S$500–700 per year depending on the condition and withdrawal tier. CHAS-enrolled clinics also allow direct subsidy deduction at point of payment for eligible Singapore Citizens and PRs; confirm whether this clinic is CHAS-enrolled before your visit. Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life generally cover inpatient stays and day surgery rather than routine GP visits. For any planned procedure or referral requiring a Letter of Guarantee from your insurer, request financial counselling at the clinic in advance. Contact EC Family Clinic Geylang by phone to confirm current CHAS, MediSave, and insurance acceptance before attending.
