About Etern Medical Punggol Sumang
Etern Medical Punggol Sumang is a general practice clinic located at 308C Punggol Walk, Waterway Terraces I, serving residents across Punggol and the broader north-east corridor. The clinic holds a 4.8/5 rating across 615 Google reviews, a robust sample that provides meaningful confidence in patient experience. No regulatory licences are recorded in the current listing, and ACRA registration has not been confirmed — patients are encouraged to verify the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and the consulting doctor's SMC registration before attending.
For a first visit, patients typically walk in or book via phone or the online enquiry form. A GP consultation covers acute presentations (fever, respiratory illness, skin conditions, minor injuries), chronic disease follow-up (hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia under the Chronic Disease Management Programme), and referral letters where a specialist or polyclinic pathway is needed. MediSave outpatient withdrawal under CDMP conditions and Integrated Shield Plan claims for subsidised outpatient care should be clarified at registration. For planned health screening, confirm fasting requirements and the scope of investigations included before the appointment.
To make an appointment or check same-day availability, contact Etern Medical Punggol Sumang directly by phone or through the enquiry form on their listing.
Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
The lousiest and most unprofessional clinic ever. Lousy queue system and screwed up staff with a self entitled doctor named Timothy Hart. Made an appointment, there was no indication of having to register at the queue counter with NRIC to validate registration. Another patient went in. Fine!! Then the nurse told me that it will be my turn next, waited another 20 mins and to my horror, another number was called. The nurse is slow in rectifying the problem and the Caucasian doctor was unapologetic and unprofessional in handling the situation. Will never go back to this place. Part 2: Just to rebuke you on your official reply. As I mentioned in my earlier review, Timothy Hart was unapologetic. He came out with an authoritative attitude telling me that he has a patient inside and it’s unacceptable for him to ask the patient out. I questioned him if it’s acceptable for me to be squeezed out like practically non existence. He then tried to be a thug by saying that he will settle this one on one with me in the room. Don’t believe? Check back your cctv. It should have the voice recordings as well. As for your bigger sized receptionist, the issue started from her “I don’t give a damn” attitude and simply have no sense of urgency to rectify any mistake. No one ever apologize about anything that day. That’s why I take this experience badly on your Sumang branch clinic.
My first time at Etern Medical Clinic, and brought my unwell 1 yr old along. Dr Lye Tin Fong attended to my child and I’ve zero complains. Dr Lye was very professional and friendly. He explains and advised accordingly without rushing me or brushing me off. Staff were friendly too. Overall, it’s a clinic I’ll visit again, even if my company insurance doesn’t cover.
Dr. Lye Tin Fong was the physician who was on duty the time i was sick. He is very kind and he explained throughly what's my sickness. Prescribed some medications and even gave me advises on what I should be doing and avoiding. The entire staffs were also very friendly and accommodating.
Used to bring my kids to Etern Medical to see the resident doctors when they are sick. But recently due to Locum doctors most of the time, we seldom visit this clinic. However, my daughter started having high fever and flu symptoms on the 8th Dec evening. We went to see the Locum doctor the next morning. My daughter refused to take the flu test and the doctor cannot prescribe Tamiflu, even though I told him we are leaving on a trip. On the 10th morning my daughter’s temperature is still very high at 40degree. I managed to buy a test kit and get her tested. I have to bring the Influenza A positive result kit to the clinic to show the doctor then Tamiflu can be prescribed for my daughter before leaving for our trip the next day. I’m not sure if this is the usual protocol for the clinic but if Tamiflu can be prescribed and taken earlier it may have help to shorten the duration or reduce the severity of the sickness especially we are traveling.
Today I went to the clinic and had a great experience with Dr. Lye. He's an amazing doctor who takes the time to explain your conditions and helps prevent future recurrences. The clinic staff is also very friendly, thanks Dorothy.

GP consultation fees at private general practice clinics in Singapore typically run S$25–60 per visit, with after-hours or Sunday surcharges of S$10–30 on top. Common add-ons billed separately include investigations (blood panel S$60–200, urine dipstick S$10–20, swab tests S$30–80), prescriptions, and a certificate fee for medical certificates or specialist referral letters. For chronic disease management under the CDMP (hypertension, diabetes, lipid disorders, asthma, and others), MediSave outpatient withdrawal of up to S$500–700 per year may apply at participating clinics. Health screening packages, where offered, typically start from S$150 for a basic fasting panel. GST applies on private medical services. See the full GP & 24-Hour Clinics cost guide for Singapore →
Every legitimate clinic in Singapore must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. No licence details are recorded in the current KakiList listing for Etern Medical Punggol Sumang, so patients should confirm the clinic's licence directly before attending. Every practising doctor must also appear on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg — search by the consulting doctor's name to confirm active registration, specialist accreditation if applicable, and any disciplinary history. Both the clinic licence and the named doctor's SMC entry should be verified; neither alone is sufficient as a trust signal. If the clinic participates in CHAS (Community Health Assist Scheme), eligible Singapore Citizens and PRs may access subsidised GP visits — confirm participation at the point of booking.
MediSave can be used for outpatient consultations at GP clinics participating in the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), covering conditions such as hypertension, type 2 diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, asthma, COPD, stroke, and selected mental health conditions. The outpatient withdrawal limit is S$500 per year (general) or S$700 per year under CDMP, shared across all CDMP-accredited providers you visit in that calendar year. For Integrated Shield Plan (IP) holders, most outpatient GP visits at private clinics are not covered by IP unless the plan includes a rider for private outpatient benefits — check your policy schedule before assuming coverage. IP coverage is more relevant if a GP referral leads to a specialist consultation, day surgery, or hospitalisation. Confirm whether the clinic accepts your specific insurer's panel or direct billing arrangement at the point of booking, and keep receipts for manual claims if direct billing is unavailable.
