About Excel Family Clinic
Excel Family Clinic is a general practice clinic located at 21 Hougang St 51, serving patients across Singapore. The clinic has been verified by KakiList and holds a 4.9/5 rating across 507 Google reviews, a robust sample that suggests consistently positive patient experience. For most patients, the journey begins with a walk-in or appointment for a GP consultation. Common presentations include acute illnesses (fever, cough, sore throat, gastroenteritis), chronic disease management under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) covering conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidaemia, and referrals to specialist outpatient clinics when a higher level of care is needed. A polyclinic or GP referral letter can reduce the cost of subsequent public hospital specialist visits substantially for Singapore Citizens. Patients with Integrated Shield Plans should confirm whether the clinic is on their insurer's panel, as this affects outpatient claim eligibility. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient treatments under the S$500/year general withdrawal limit and the S$700/year CDMP limit for listed chronic conditions.
Contact Excel Family Clinic directly to confirm current consultation hours, same-day appointment availability, and accepted insurance panels before your visit.
Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
I’ve been visiting Dr Albert Soh Yew Chye at Excel Family Clinic since I was young, and I still come back whenever I’m sick. he’s a very experienced and patient doctor who takes time to listen and explain things clearly. the consultation and medicine can be a bit expensive compared to some clinics, but the treatment and prescriptions have always worked well for me. because of that, I trust his diagnosis and don’t mind coming back. overall, a very reliable family doctor that I’ve trusted for many years.
Has been visiting this clinic since 2002 and Dr Soh is currently now our family doctor for the young and old. Dr Soh gives very careful examinations and consultations for all his patients which might take up to 30 minutes for each patient depending on their symptoms, which would result in long waiting time and early closure of registration. The clinic assistants are also very careful and caring explaining the medication or any prescription to the patients, often in dialect to the elder patients. Both the clinic assistants and doctor remembers their patients well, and their records. The fees are slightly on the higher side, but medications and consultations are definitely better than other clinics as well. So if you are someone who are not able to wait or will complain for that, you might want to go for other clinics.
Premium doctor with premium medicine . Friends recommended this clinic to us . I bring my 91 year old mum to see Dr soh as he is very skilled and caring . He is very senior and good . Do note Clinic close registration very early . More costly as he is very senior and this is not a GP clinic but a senior family physician clinic . So do take note and must come early to register .
Doctor is very knowledgeable and kind. On the other hand, the receptionist was very aggressive and sarcastic. Kept turning sick people away when they needed a checkup, what’s the use of a clinic when you choose your customers? as if she can play God. Along with the high prices in a NEIGHBOURHOOD area. She has absolutely no professionalism whatsoever, kept yelling about the prices making sure we could afford to even see the doctor. Might as well move this clinic to Orchard Rd since your prices are sky high🤣
Very good clinic, as I help my dad to book his pneumococcal vaccination using the health appointment system. It's easy to use and he didn't waited long for his queue. Injection is not expensive as government has given subsidy. Dr Soh was good in giving injections as my dad didn't complain of any pain.

No regulatory licences were listed for Excel Family Clinic in our records at the time of publication. Every legitimate clinic is required to hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory online. Every practising doctor must appear on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can search by name to confirm registration status, specialist accreditation, and any disciplinary history. We recommend confirming both the clinic's MOH licence and the named doctor's SMC registration directly before booking. The absence of these details in our records reflects a data gap rather than a definitive finding, but verification is advisable.
MediSave can be used at approved GP clinics for selected outpatient treatments under the S$500/year general withdrawal limit, rising to S$700/year for conditions covered under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which includes hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, stroke, asthma, COPD, and selected mental health conditions, among others. Confirm with the clinic whether it is a CDMP-accredited provider before assuming MediSave is claimable. Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life primarily cover inpatient stays and day surgery, with limited outpatient cover depending on the plan and rider. Some IP riders include GP or specialist outpatient benefits — check your policy documents or call your insurer. For any planned procedure or referral, request a written financial counselling estimate that clearly splits the insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portion before proceeding.
