We went in with an open mind, just wanting to hear what Fineline Design could offer but we ended up signing with them on the spot because they were not pushy at all. Their costing was clear and transparent. Also their design was aesthetic yet practical. What we appreciated the most was their quick response every time we reached out, the open communication and trust built throughout the renovation journey, and how they would clearly line up the path forward at every meeting, so we always knew what the next steps were. They also kept us updated on timelines and renovation progress promptly. Many homeowners mention needing to chase their IDs, but for us, it was the complete opposite, they were always proactive and one step ahead. Thank you Carine and Moon from Fineline Design for being on board with us for our Home 1.0.
We completed our renovation in January 2025, with costs exceeding $100,000. While we were initially happy with the design, we deliberately waited almost a year before writing this review so we could provide an honest and fair assessment. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this ID firm. Throughout the year, we had to repeatedly look for themβalmost every two monthsβto rectify issues caused by poor workmanship, which took up our time and disrupted our daily lives. The most recent incident involved a leak under the kitchen sink, caused by plumbing that was not properly tightened. Just this month, we experienced another leak from the dishwasher. These are basic installation issues that should never happen, especially after such a costly renovation. While the firm claimed they would rectify the problems as soon as possible, the reality is that no homeowner should have to deal with recurring defects in a newly renovated home. Constant repairs are stressful and unacceptable, regardless of how quickly the issues are addressed. Update: We initially agreed that a plumber would come at 11:00am. After waiting 20 minutes with no one showing up, I called Raymond (the ID). He then told me, βYou gave me this Google review, why should I still send someone to rectify your issue.β There was no prior notice, no update, and no attempt to communicate that they would not be coming. This incident clearly shows how they handle customers once a negative review is given. Leaving a Google review is a basic right of any customer. It should never be used as a reason for a business to refuse rectification of issues arising. I have done two renovations with Darwin Interior previously and have never encountered such customer service issues. This experience has made me realise the importance of engaging established ID firmsβthey remain in business for many years for good reasons, including accountability and professionalism.
Decided on Fineline Design and James as my ID after meeting many others as he is always very responsive, accomdating to my needs and open to discussion. As expected, the entire renovation process is well organized and he always keeps me updated on the status. Design wise, it is practical and functional without losing the aesthetics. Requests for changes/rectifications are also promptly answered. Even though it is only renovation for a small 2 room flat, the service rendered is really good and meet all my needs. Overall, am happy with how the house looks!
Elvis was recommended to me by a satisfied friend as the interior designer for my resale flat, and engaging him turned out to be one of the best decisions I made for this renovation. After meeting and comparing several interior designers, Elvis stood out for his clear, transparent, and highly competitive pricing. He took the time to walk me through each cost component in detail, patiently explaining the rationale behind his recommendations and ensuring that all my requirements and expectations were clearly aligned from the very beginning. Throughout the project, Elvis consistently demonstrated his vast experience and strong project management capabilities. He provided practical and thoughtful insights that helped me make informed decisions, often highlighting potential issues early and proposing effective solutions before they became problems. His ability to coordinate different aspects of the renovation seamlessly ensured that the project progressed smoothly and stayed on track with the agreed timelines. What gave me the greatest peace of mind was Elvisβs meticulous attention to detail. From careful quality checks to precise measurements at every stage of the renovation, he maintained a high standard of workmanship and never compromised on quality. His proactive updates and hands-on involvement reassured me that the project was being closely monitored and well managed. Overall, working with Elvis was a stress-free and positive experience, and I felt confident throughout the process that my home was truly in good hands.
The reason i wrote a late review (project completed 4 months ago) is because I value after-sales service. We are thankful to Fevien and Elvis! The experience is not perfect but superb. Details in design on point. Regular engagements on point. Thorough explanation on point. Prompt follow ups on point. Anyone who believes in the same values as me should engage them.
