About First Ambulance & Healthcare

About First Ambulance & Healthcare

First Ambulance & Healthcare is a medical escort provider operating islandwide from its base at King George's Building on King George's Avenue. The service has earned a 4.8 out of 5 rating across 163 Google reviews, a robust sample that lends meaningful weight to its reputation. Pricing is positioned in the mid-range for Singapore's medical escort market, though specific rates are not publicly listed and should be confirmed directly. No regulatory licences are currently recorded on this listing, which is worth clarifying before engagement.

Families typically engage a medical escort service when an elderly or recovering relative needs supervised transport to hospital appointments, specialist consultations, day surgery, or discharge from a facility. The process usually begins with a phone call or enquiry form to discuss the care recipient's mobility level, medical equipment needs (wheelchair, stretcher, oxygen), the pickup and destination addresses, and whether a trained escort or paramedic-level attendant is required. It is worth confirming the scope of clinical support provided en route, whether a qualified nurse or first-aider accompanies the patient, and the protocol if the patient's condition changes during transit. Families with multiple recurring appointments should ask about package rates versus per-trip pricing.

Contact First Ambulance & Healthcare by phone or through the enquiry form on their listing to discuss your relative's specific needs, confirm the level of clinical supervision available, and obtain a written quote before confirming the booking.

Needed an ambulance for my mum when my usual provider was fully booked, and First Ambulance really came through! Dianne on the hotline was super clear and helpful, and even kept me updated on WhatsApp so I always knew what was happening. Big thanks to Ari Sufyan, Wawa, Daud, and Syaaban who transported my mum—they were so polite, patient, and careful. Loved that they even checked in with the nurses to make sure everything was smooth during pick-up. Everything was hassle-free, communication was prompt, and I felt completely taken care of. Highly recommend!

I engaged them for a private ambulance service during an important event, and their team was truly outstanding. The staff were impressive, dedicated, prompt, and willing to go the extra mile to ensure everything ran smoothly. A special thanks to Philip for his exceptional attention to detail and top-notch service. He made sure every aspect was handled perfectly and presented in the best possible way. Very highly recommended!

Service beyond and above expectations with very reasonable fees. Patient transfer via ferry at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. I was before hand told by ferry operator and TMFT operations that, base on their previous exp, ambulance services were late and caused multiple operational delays. However, the team at FIRST AMBULANCE changed this perspective. They were not only PUNCTUAL, but came early, to clear the TMFT security such that they were standing by off the jetty upon ferry arrival. Kudos, to Dianne, Ude and Irwan for providing such top notch service, even on a short notice. Much appreciated! Jazakallah khair.

Philip has been very helpful throughout the day of transportation of my Grandmother. He helped linking me to their China counterparts. We are grateful of his help.

I can easily say that First Ambulance is a very reliable and trustworthy service I ever found when I had emergency need for medical transfer of my dad from overseas. Mr. Philip, who’s my main contact, never stopped contacting related authorities/airlines to ensure we just wait for the good news without worrying, given that it was during Christmas time when everyone should be busy on their vacations. It turned out Mr. Philip didn’t let us down and settled everything, and at last my dad was safely brought back to my home country under his and his team and the doctor’s care during the whole process from hospital to the plane. Once again, thank you so much for your great service which I treated it as my last gift for my dad.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does First Ambulance & Healthcare charge?

First Ambulance & Healthcare does not publish a fixed price list publicly, and rates for medical escort services in Singapore vary considerably depending on the level of clinical support required, the distance travelled, and whether specialist equipment such as a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, stretcher, or portable oxygen is needed. As a general market reference, basic medical transport with a trained escort typically starts from S$80–150 per trip, while stretcher-level or paramedic-accompanied transfers can run S$200–500 or more. Public holiday and after-hours surcharges are common. Families with recurring appointment schedules should ask whether a package rate is available, as per-trip pricing adds up quickly. Confirm the full breakdown — including any waiting-time charges, equipment fees, and GST treatment — in writing before the first booking.

Live-in or visit-based — which does First Ambulance & Healthcare offer?

First Ambulance & Healthcare operates as a medical escort and transport service rather than a residential or live-in care provider. The service is visit-based and trip-specific: a trained escort accompanies the care recipient from pickup to destination and, where arranged, waits and returns with them. This model is well-suited to families who manage day-to-day caregiving at home but need reliable, clinically supervised transport for hospital appointments, specialist visits, or post-discharge journeys. It is not a substitute for round-the-clock home nursing or live-in caregiver arrangements. Families requiring ongoing residential or nursing support should engage a separate home care agency in parallel. Confirm the waiting-time policy directly — some providers charge by the hour if the appointment overruns, while others offer a fixed waiting allowance.

Is the caregiver trained and insured?

Medical escort providers in Singapore are expected to field staff with relevant first-aid or emergency-care training, and reputable operators carry insurance covering caregiver injury and client incidents during transit. However, no regulatory licences are currently recorded on First Ambulance & Healthcare's KakiList listing, and it is not clear from publicly available information whether clinical staff hold formal nursing, paramedic, or emergency medical technician (EMT) qualifications. Before confirming a booking, ask specifically: what is the clinical qualification of the escort assigned to your relative, does the company carry public liability and professional indemnity insurance, and what is the protocol if the patient's condition deteriorates during transit. If a higher level of clinical cover is required — for example, for a patient with complex medical needs — confirm whether a registered nurse or paramedic can be arranged. For home-based clinical care, look for providers registered with the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) or the Ministry of Health.
