About "Fortitude BJJ"
Fortitude BJJ is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu school based at 18M Penhas Road, Singapore 208182, offering classes to students across the island. The school is KakiList-verified, meaning operating details and contact information have been confirmed by a real person. It holds a 5-out-of-5 rating across 130 Google reviews, a robust sample that provides a reliable signal of consistent student satisfaction. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier ($$), though specific per-session or monthly fees are not published and should be confirmed directly with the school.
Prospective students or parents can enquire via WhatsApp, phone, or the online contact form to discuss level and experience fit — whether that is complete beginner, recreational participant, or competitive practitioner. Fortitude BJJ offers both adult and, commonly at BJJ academies, youth programmes, though the specific age groups available should be confirmed at enquiry. It is worth asking about class structure (group format versus any small-group options), session frequency, and whether a trial class is available before committing to a term or monthly package. Confirming which syllabus or belt curriculum the school follows, as well as what gi and no-gi options exist, will help prospective students assess alignment with their goals.
To take the next step, reach out via WhatsApp or phone to ask about the current timetable, confirm whether a trial class is on offer, and clarify the fee structure before committing.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
Wrapped up their 7 days free trial, and this gym is a hidden gem! From the moment I walked in, the place felt welcoming no intimidating vibes, just a clean, spaceious where everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there. Professor Vinc, Kacie and the team has this calm way of coaching that makes the complex technique moves feel manageable. The crew here feels like family, zero ego, all fun, everyone’s friendly, supportive, and eager to help you grow. Whether you’re a newbie or a advanced grappler, Fortitude’s positive energy and killer coaching will hook you. Highly recommend dropping in 10/10. You’ll leave sweaty and smiling.
Great place to start training BJJ! It is important to me that the mats are clean, the gym is well air-conditioned, and you can tell they’re serious about the sport with all the medals on display. Coaches are super nice, welcoming and well experienced making it a perfect starting point for beginners! Definitely worth the visit!!
Super friendly gym. Always leaving with a positive feeling. The trainers and teammates are also super welcoming and helpful throughout each session!! Love our coach kacie, she’s super supportive and professional
I went for a 1 week trial and had such a good experience! The coaches, Prof Kacie & Prof Yazid were really welcoming and took the time to guide me through the basics, which made me feel comfortable even though I was completely new. The environment was friendly and supportive, and everyone was open to helping each other learn. The training itself was challenging but fun — I definitely broke a sweat while picking up techniques. Overall, I felt like it’s a great place for both beginners and experienced people. If you’re curious about BJJ or looking for a gym with a positive vibe and solid coaching, I’d definitely recommend checking them out! Thanks Kacie & Yazid!
Had an amazing time at Fortitude BJJ the team is friendly, incredibly welcoming, and impressively competitive. I’ll definitely be coming back every time I’m in Singapore.

Fortitude BJJ has not published specific per-session or monthly fees on its listing, so the exact cost should be confirmed by contacting the school directly via WhatsApp or phone. In Singapore, Brazilian jiu-jitsu classes typically run on a monthly membership model rather than a strict per-session rate, with group memberships commonly ranging from S$150 to S$300 per month depending on class frequency and the academy's positioning. It is worth asking whether a trial class is available and at what cost, whether there are separate fees for gi and no-gi sessions, and whether any registration or membership card fees apply. Some schools also offer student or family discounts. See the full Sport & Swimming Schools cost guide for Singapore →
Many Brazilian jiu-jitsu academies in Singapore offer a trial class for new students, either at a nominal fee or complimentary, as a way to assess fit before signing up for a monthly membership. It is advisable to contact Fortitude BJJ directly to confirm whether a trial is available and what, if anything, it costs. During a trial class, pay attention to how the coach explains techniques to beginners, the level of physical contact involved, and whether the class pace suits your current fitness and experience level. A good trial also gives a sense of the gym's culture and whether existing members are welcoming to newcomers — both are important factors for long-term commitment to a martial arts programme.
Instructor credentials are not listed in the available provider data for Fortitude BJJ, so it is recommended to ask directly about the lead instructor's belt rank, how long they have been training and teaching, and whether they hold any coaching or competition experience. In Brazilian jiu-jitsu, belt rank is the primary credentialling system — a black belt typically represents a minimum of eight to ten years of dedicated training. It is also worth asking whether instructors have competed at local or regional level, and whether the curriculum is aligned with any established BJJ association or competition ruleset (such as IBJJF). These details help gauge the quality and consistency of instruction, particularly if a student has competitive aspirations.
