The clinic holds a 2.9/5 rating across 27 Google reviews — a moderate sample size, though the below-average score warrants attention before booking. For a GP visit, patients typically walk in or call ahead to confirm consultation hours and queue availability. A standard GP consultation covers presenting symptoms, examination, prescription where appropriate, and referral to a specialist or public hospital if the condition requires further investigation. Frankel Clinic East Coast is contactable by phone — it is advisable to call ahead to confirm opening hours, panel insurer acceptance (including MediShield Life Integrated Shield Plan coverage and CHAS card eligibility), and whether MediSave can be used for chronic disease management under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP). Patients with a polyclinic or GP referral letter may be directed to a public hospital Specialist Outpatient Clinic for subsidised specialist care.
Call the clinic directly on the listed phone number to confirm current consultation hours, CHAS and panel insurer acceptance, and queue arrangements before making your way down.
Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
Dr. Gan has been our trusted family doctor for years, and we couldn’t be in better hands. In an era of high-tech medical groups, Dr. Gan is a refreshing return to what healthcare should be: personal, attentive, and deeply compassionate. While the clinic maintains some traditional practices—such as accepting cash payments and providing clear, handwritten instructions on medication—these quirks only add to the charm and authenticity of the experience. It’s clear that his focus isn't on fancy systems, but on the well-being of his patients. He is a caring physician who takes the time to listen and diagnose with precision. You aren't just a number at Frankel Clinic; you're family. If you value a doctor who is honest, reliable, and has a heart for his patients, I cannot recommend Dr. Gan highly enough.
Clinic is living in stone age where they only accept CASH, not even paynow/lah. Sent our helper there for emergency as she’s having a high fever and she has only our debit card and no cash on hand. We were still at work hence we cant hand over the money. Still no consideration and asked her to walk far to withdraw CASH. Called them I can transfer online but refuse…They should close this shop and doctor find another clinic to render service where its more friendly and flexible.
My parents brought me to see Dr Gan when I was still in primary school. More than 30 years later and now being a father of 3 kids, I can safely say Dr Gan is still my preferred family doctor, after shifting back to the east. Down-to-earth and unpretentious. Because of my kids I’ve been to many more doctors in recent years, and seen my fair share of those that are in it for the money. Dr Gan is still one of the most caring and professional doctors I’ve even met.
This is my second visit since I have not been ill for some time. 🙌 In any case, we know he is grandfatherly and well-intetioned. My first visit surprised me because he was very chatty. Today, however, I had brought the family helper who had been coughing for a few days and Dr Gan was fairly brief. Doc listened with some sympathy, but in an upbeat fashion, had words of encouragement for us, especially our helper. Advice is advice. In the end, one has to make a decision whwther to follow it or not. And, while we do feel there are days when you steele yourself up for meeting someone and other days when his service is spectacular, I must say I am thankful that Dr Gan and his clinic and staff are present. Perhaps we were especially gifted to have a short queue because of some of the other less generous reviews? Haha... well, we're all human. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I am grateful that his meds are super effective. I am glad that he shows thinking and restraint when prescribing meds like anti-depressants or sleeping tablets. (There is no shame in needing some help sometimes.) It shows he is doing his due diligence. And, yes, this was a thankfully quick visit. All done in 40 minutes whereas it would have taken me nearly 2h elsewhere (1.5h of waiting at least) upstairs... on a Monday... which, to me, is fantastic. Plus the Consult came to under $50. All good. 😇
Worst experience at a clinic ever. Doctor came in over 1 hour late!!! Clinic opens at 9.15am, doctor STROLLED in at 10.25am. Doctor Gan showed NO sense of urgency or remorse. First thing he did when he came, despite being late, was still check letter box. Staff also didn't inform that doctor is not here! Your sick patients are waiting! Strolled in so complacently somemore. Wasted my time. Will never go there ever again. Boycotting this clinic.

GP consultation fees at private clinics in Singapore typically run S$25–60 per visit, with variations depending on the complexity of the consultation, medications dispensed, and any investigations ordered. The price display for Frankel Clinic East Coast is listed as '$$', suggesting mid-range positioning, but an exact consultation fee has not been confirmed in the listing data — call ahead to ask. Common add-ons billed on top of the consultation include medications and prescriptions, certificates (MC, fitness-to-work), and any basic investigations such as urine dipstick or rapid antigen tests. GST applies on private medical services. CHAS cardholders (Blue, Orange, or MerdekaCare) may be entitled to subsidised consultation rates if the clinic participates — confirm this when calling. No MOH Healthcare Services Licence or Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration details are listed for Frankel Clinic East Coast in the current public record. Both are mandatory for a legitimate private GP clinic operating in Singapore — the clinic premises licence is verifiable on the MOH licensee directory, and the consulting doctor's registration and specialist accreditation can be checked on the SMC public register at smc.gov.sg. Patients are encouraged to verify both before booking, particularly given the absence of confirmed licence information in this listing. If the clinic is unable to provide its MOH licence number or the consulting doctor's SMC registration number on request, that is a significant concern worth escalating to MOH's Healthcare Regulation Group.
For GP visits, MediSave can be used for outpatient chronic disease management under the CDMP, which covers conditions including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, stroke, asthma, COPD, and selected mental health conditions, up to the MediSave 500/700 withdrawal limits per year. Routine acute GP consultations (cough, cold, fever) are generally not MediSave-claimable on an outpatient basis. Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life cover inpatient and day-surgery admissions and, in some plans, selected specialist outpatient visits — GP consultations are typically not covered by IP riders unless the policy specifically includes a GP rider. Confirm with Frankel Clinic East Coast whether they are a CHAS-participating clinic, and check your insurer's panel list before attending if you intend to make an insurance claim. For any planned referral or procedure, request a written financial counselling estimate that clearly separates insurance, MediSave, and out-of-pocket portions before proceeding.
