For a first visit, patients typically contact the clinic by phone or through the enquiry form to describe their concern — whether a routine check-up and scaling, a toothache, or a cosmetic or restorative procedure — and to confirm appointment availability. It is worth asking at the point of booking what the consultation fee covers, whether X-rays are included or billed separately, and whether the clinic processes insurance or Medisave claims for eligible procedures such as surgical extractions or periodontal treatment. Patients with dental anxiety or specific clinical needs (orthodontics, implants, or paediatric dentistry) should confirm the clinic's areas of practice before attending.
To take the next step, call the clinic directly or submit an enquiry through the contact form on the listing to book an appointment and confirm what to bring to your first visit.
Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the Singapore Dental Council's public register before treatment.
Dr. Austin Chan did an amazing job with my wisdom tooth surgical removal. I have a very strong gag reflex, and he truly did his 100% to calm me down and make me feel comfortable throughout the whole procedure. Together with his assistant (I unfortunately forgot to ask her name), they were incredibly patient and supportive. He even used some acupuncture techniques to help me relax, which I really appreciated. The whole experience was much smoother than I expected. Outstanding work. I’m so happy and feel blessed to finally get this done. I’m very thankful to Dr. Chan and his assistant. Highly recommended!
We brought our 1‑year‑old in for her very first dental visit, and the experience was wonderful. Dr. Melissa was incredibly patient and gentle, making our little one feel at ease right away. She has a natural way with children and explained dental care clearly, giving us practical advice we can follow at home. We left feeling reassured and confident about our baby’s dental health. Highly recommend!
I had the most wonderful experience here. I’ve always been fearful of going to dental but the staffs and especially Dr JD were really friendly and made my dental journey a very pleasant one. I recommend all my family and friends to come here. Thank you so much and I’m so glad I found Dr jd!
Brought my 5yo kid to see Dr Joanne Ou today who used to scream and kick when she saw dentists. Surprisingly, she feels very relaxed with Dr Joanne’s soft and gentle explanations and can get the tooth filings done! She even said Dr Joanne is the best dentist in Singapore and in the world. Most importantly, she is not scared of seeing dentist anymore because of Dr Joanne!
I have been doing invisilign treatment with Dr Melissa. Amazingly patient doctor who is compassionate and understanding. I used to dread having to go to the dentist but Dr Melissa and the team try their best to make it a comfortable experience by always checking on me to ensure I am alright throughout the treatment.

Gentle Dental Group is positioned at a mid-range price tier ($$), though specific treatment fees were not published at the time of this listing. Singapore dental fees vary significantly by procedure: a routine consultation and scaling typically runs S$80–180, tooth extraction S$80–300 (surgical extractions higher), a single dental implant S$3,500–6,000, and orthodontic treatment S$3,500–8,000 depending on the appliance type. X-rays, fluoride, and polishing are commonly billed as separate line items. Medisave can be used for approved surgical procedures (e.g. surgical extractions, implants) up to a withdrawal limit. Some employer dental insurance plans cover basic restorative work. Confirm the clinic's fee schedule and payment options at the time of booking. See the full Dental cost guide for Singapore →
No referral is required for a general dental visit — you can book directly by phone or through the enquiry form. Your first appointment will typically include a consultation, a visual examination, and any X-rays the dentist considers necessary to assess your presenting concern. If you have a complex medical history (blood thinners, bisphosphonates, immunosuppressants, or uncontrolled diabetes), bring a current medication list and, where relevant, a letter from your treating specialist — this helps the dentist plan treatment safely. Patients seeking specialist procedures such as orthodontics, implants, or oral surgery may be referred to a specialist if the general dentist determines that is the appropriate pathway.
Dental clinics and dentists in Singapore are regulated by the Singapore Dental Council (SDC) under the Dental Registration Act. Every practising dentist must hold a valid SDC registration, which is verifiable on the SDC's public register at nehr.gov.sg or sdc.gov.sg. The clinic premises must also hold a Private Hospital and Medical Clinics (PHMC) licence under MOH — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory. No regulatory licences were listed in this provider's submission, so it is advisable to ask the clinic directly for the consulting dentist's SDC registration number and to verify it before your appointment. Confirm the practitioner's practising certificate is current and ask whether the clinic holds full professional indemnity insurance.
