About Gentle Touch Dental

The listing has been verified by KakiList and holds a 5/5 rating across 181 Google reviews — a robust sample that provides a reliable signal of patient experience. New patients typically begin with an initial consultation and examination, during which the dentist assesses oral health, discusses concerns or goals, and outlines a treatment plan. Whether you are attending for a routine scale-and-polish, restorative work, or a more involved procedure, it is worth asking about appointment availability, the dentist's areas of focus, and the clinic's approach to anxious or nervous patients — the practice name suggests a focus on patient comfort. Clarify fees for the consultation and any proposed treatment upfront, and check whether your Medisave or dental insurance covers the procedures recommended.
To get started, contact Gentle Touch Dental by phone or via the enquiry form on their listing to book an initial appointment or to ask about current availability.
Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the Singapore Dental Council's public register before treatment.
Dr. Austin Chan did an amazing job with my wisdom tooth surgical removal. I have a very strong gag reflex, and he truly did his 100% to calm me down and make me feel comfortable throughout the whole procedure. Together with his assistant (I unfortunately forgot to ask her name), they were incredibly patient and supportive. He even used some acupuncture techniques to help me relax, which I really appreciated. The whole experience was much smoother than I expected. Outstanding work. I’m so happy and feel blessed to finally get this done. I’m very thankful to Dr. Chan and his assistant. Highly recommended!
We brought our 1‑year‑old in for her very first dental visit, and the experience was wonderful. Dr. Melissa was incredibly patient and gentle, making our little one feel at ease right away. She has a natural way with children and explained dental care clearly, giving us practical advice we can follow at home. We left feeling reassured and confident about our baby’s dental health. Highly recommend!
I had the most wonderful experience here. I’ve always been fearful of going to dental but the staffs and especially Dr JD were really friendly and made my dental journey a very pleasant one. I recommend all my family and friends to come here. Thank you so much and I’m so glad I found Dr jd!
Brought my 5yo kid to see Dr Joanne Ou today who used to scream and kick when she saw dentists. Surprisingly, she feels very relaxed with Dr Joanne’s soft and gentle explanations and can get the tooth filings done! She even said Dr Joanne is the best dentist in Singapore and in the world. Most importantly, she is not scared of seeing dentist anymore because of Dr Joanne!
I have been doing invisilign treatment with Dr Melissa. Amazingly patient doctor who is compassionate and understanding. I used to dread having to go to the dentist but Dr Melissa and the team try their best to make it a comfortable experience by always checking on me to ensure I am alright throughout the treatment.

Dental fees in Singapore vary considerably by procedure. A routine consultation typically runs S$30–80, scale-and-polish S$80–150, tooth extraction S$80–300, fillings S$80–250, and more involved work such as root canal treatment or crowns S$800–2,500 or more. Medisave can be used for certain procedures such as surgical extractions, periodontal treatment, and some oral surgery under the Medisave-accredited scheme. No referral is needed to attend a private dental clinic in Singapore. New patients are generally seen on a walk-in or appointment basis, and the first visit typically includes a clinical examination, X-rays if indicated, and a discussion of any presenting concerns or planned treatment. If you have a complex medical history — for example, you are on blood thinners, have a heart condition, or are undergoing chemotherapy — it is worth informing the clinic when booking so the dentist can prepare appropriately. Patients with significant dental anxiety should also flag this in advance, as some clinics offer sedation options or extended appointment slots.
Dentists practising in Singapore must be registered with the Singapore Dental Council (SDC) under the Dental Registration Act. No regulatory licences are recorded on this KakiList listing, so patients should verify the consulting dentist's registration directly on the SDC's public register at healthprofessionals.gov.sg before booking. Specialist dentists — in areas such as orthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, or prosthodontics — hold an additional specialist registration with the SDC and should be listed on the specialist register. Confirm the practitioner's credentials and any specialist qualifications directly with the clinic, particularly if you are seeking treatment beyond general dental care.
