About GP Tuition Ex Journalist

About "GP Tuition Ex Journalist"

GP Tuition Ex Journalist is an education provider offering General Paper tuition, operating islandwide from a centre at 855 Tampines Street 83, Singapore 520855. The listing is KakiList-verified, meaning operating details and contact channels have been confirmed by a real person. It holds a Google rating of 4.9 out of 5 across 63 reviews, which represents a moderate sample size and can be treated with reasonable confidence as a positive signal.

When enquiring, it is worth clarifying which level and syllabus the tuition covers — most GP tuition providers focus on JC1 and JC2 students sitting the A-Level examination. Ask whether sessions are conducted in a group format or on a one-to-one basis, as this will affect both pace and pricing. Prospective students should also confirm whether a trial class is available before committing to a term, and whether classes are conducted in person at the Tampines centre or online. Given the provider's background as a former journalist, it may be useful to ask directly how that professional experience shapes the teaching approach, particularly for essay writing and comprehension skills.

To take the next step, reach out via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to ask about current availability, the format of sessions, and whether a trial class can be arranged before signing up for a full term.

I feel that the crash course covering essay content was very useful. Mr Zach delved thoroughly into different skills like flow and tweaking which I think are very useful when it comes to producing logical high-scoring essays. Personally, the notes were very helpful as they were clear, straight to the point and covered a wide range of relevant examples. Attending the crash course has definitely expedited and deepened my revision for the A levels and I would really recommend it to anyone who wants to gain insight even during the last stretch :)

I joined Mr Zach’s crash course midway after my friend recommended it to me and his lessons turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. At first I was afraid of not being able to catch up with the content I missed, but Mr Zach was really thoughtful and broke down the recorded lessons and content into digestible segments that helped me to keep up. Content has always been my biggest struggle but through the course I learnt numerous examples that were really intriguing yet relevant! (he provides vocab bank as well and it has significantly helped me in improving my language too)The notes he provides are comprehensive and easy to understand which are very useful for studying and made studying for gp so much more enjoyable as well! I believe I’m a lot more confident in essay writing after having attended his lessons, thank you Mr Zach!! For those who wish to build their content and improve essay writing skills, I definitely recommend trying it out!

I think your lessons were really insightful and provided me with a lot of knowledge about current affairs! The examples shared each lesson were interesting, so much so that I would read up more about them after class and expand the depth of my understanding 😆 A skill that I really found helpful was Flow and I’ve been trying to apply that with every essay question I tackle. It provides a systematic way of structuring my body paragraphs and ensures that every argument is well-developed. I had an essay timed practice in school and my essay grade jumped from a D to a B, just after one crash course lesson! You’ve also provided us with a lot of resources, from the many sample essays, to the word banks and even a vast coverage of examples that can be tweaked for many essay topics. The lessons are easy to follow and at a comfortable pace too 😄

I found Mr Zach's lessons refreshing as he introduced new methods like the FLOW and ABC system, helping me construct strong links within and between paragraphs. This gave me a clearer and stronger logic flow in my essays. His examples are versatile and applicable to various essay types, and his model essays significantly expanded my vocabulary in the weeks leading up to A Levels. Mr Zach’s engaging teaching and passion for GP motivated me to read more widely. His coverage of unique topics, like "Individuals and values," was especially helpful in the A Level exam, boosting my GP from a constant C to an A!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does "GP Tuition Ex Journalist" charge per session?

Pricing has not been published in detail for this listing. In the Singapore market, GP tuition at the JC level typically ranges from around S$60–S$100 per session for group classes and S$100–S$200 or more per session for one-to-one tuition, depending on the tutor's background and class size. Some providers charge a separate trial class fee, which may or may not be credited against the first month's fees if you continue. Materials fees or printing charges may also apply on top of session fees. Ask whether the provider offers package rates for block-booking a term upfront, as discounts are common. See the full tuition cost guide for Singapore →

Can I try a class before committing?

It is worth asking "GP Tuition Ex Journalist" directly whether a trial class is available and what the cost is. A trial session allows a student to assess whether the teaching style, pace, and level of difficulty are a good fit before committing to a full term. During a trial, pay attention to how the tutor explains essay structure and comprehension strategies, whether the student feels engaged, and whether the class level matches the student's current abilities. GP tuition can vary significantly in approach — some tutors focus on argument frameworks while others emphasise language precision — so a trial is a useful way to gauge fit before any financial commitment is made.

What are the tutor's credentials?

The provider name indicates a background in journalism, which is a relevant foundation for General Paper tuition given the subject's emphasis on essay writing, argumentation, and current affairs comprehension. However, specific qualifications — such as a university degree, NIE training, or years of teaching experience — are not listed publicly. It is advisable to ask the tutor directly about their academic background, how long they have been teaching GP, and their familiarity with the current MOE A-Level GP syllabus. Asking to see past student results or testimonials can also help you make a more informed decision before committing to a term.
