About Healthmark Family Clinic Sims
Healthmark Family Clinic Sims is a general practice clinic located at 48 Sims Place, #01-167, Singapore 380048, serving patients across the island. The clinic holds a 4.7-star rating across 39 Google reviews — a moderate sample that provides reasonable directional confidence. No regulatory licences appear in the listing data, and ACRA registration has not been confirmed, so patients should verify the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and the consulting doctor's Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration directly before booking.
For a first visit, patients typically walk in or contact the clinic by phone or online form to confirm availability. At a GP practice, the consultation covers presenting complaints, examination, investigations where indicated (blood tests, urine, and basic diagnostics), prescriptions, and a referral letter to a polyclinic or specialist if the condition warrants it. Patients with chronic conditions — hypertension, diabetes, lipid disorders, asthma, and others — should ask whether the clinic participates in the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which allows MediSave withdrawals of up to S$700 per year for outpatient management of listed conditions. Singaporeans and PRs should also confirm whether the clinic is a Screen for Life accredited provider for subsidised health screening.
To make an appointment or check walk-in queue availability, contact Healthmark Family Clinic Sims directly by phone or through the enquiry form listed on this page.
Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
Our family doctor. Dr Derek and his staff are very friendly and helpful. The clinic can get pretty busy. Try booking appointment online.
Recently I caught the flu and decided to get my flu vaccination. I decided to give this clinic a try instead of my typical go-to at the polyclinic. Before giving the flu vaccination, Dr. Leong was professional to check that I have recovered and to brief on the type of flu vaccination. Doctor is friendly which helped me from not feeling tense, and also highly proficient in administering the needle. It was a quick and painless experience. Waiting time to seeing the doctor is short and the staff at the receptionist area are very caring and friendly. Highly recommended clinic for a professional and pleasant experience.
New clinic in the neighbourhood. Was told during registration that their CHAS application with the government was just approved. So, not able to use CHAS now, but they are very nice to give some discounts on their end. (CHAS can be used only 1-2weeks later). Very nice experience with Dr Derek. Very patient and professional to the point that he himself explain how to apply the medication. Or maybe because I'm the only one in the clinic? 😅 Saw a lot of toys in the room. Probably for kids to play if they are afraid of seeing the doctors.
Dr Derek was very patient and caring. He is very thorough in his check-up, and takes his time to explain his diagnosis to you, not like other big chains where you only got a few mins face time with the doctor. He would give just the right amount of medications for you. Very patient with my little one too. Our whole family + helper goes to him. Thank you Dr Derek!
Accompanied my partner(foreigner) for cough, prescribed 5 medications. When my partner asked which medicine is for what purpose, he rushed through his words which even I didn't manage to catch. When asked to repeat for clarity, he just replied "Later outside will tell you, I repeated 3 times already". When I asked whether it's necessary to take all 5 medication, he replied "you can take all or don't take at all, you come see doctor is for medicines right?".... I mean we are not medical professionals, just asking politely but got such response, very bad experience.

GP consultations at private family clinics in Singapore typically range from S$25 to S$60, with follow-up visits usually at the lower end. Common add-ons billed separately include blood panels (S$60–200), urine tests, X-rays (S$80–150), and prescriptions. GST applies on private medical services. Patients holding MediShield Life with an Integrated Shield Plan (IP) should note that GP consultations at non-panel clinics are generally not claimable under the IP, though CDMP-eligible conditions allow MediSave withdrawals of up to S$700 per year. For any planned investigation or procedure, request a written cost estimate upfront. See the full GP & 24-Hour Clinics cost guide for Singapore →
Every legitimate clinic in Singapore must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. No licence details appear in the current listing for Healthmark Family Clinic Sims, so patients should request to see the licence at the clinic or search the MOH directory directly. Every practising doctor must also be registered on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg — searchable by name to confirm registration status and any disciplinary history. Confirm both the clinic's MOH licence and the consulting doctor's SMC entry before your first visit. Neither alone is sufficient as a verification step.
MediSave can be used for outpatient consultations under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) — up to S$700 per year — for listed conditions including hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, asthma, stroke, COPD, and selected mental health conditions. Standard GP consultations for acute conditions are generally not MediSave-claimable on an outpatient basis. Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) primarily cover hospitalisation and day surgery rather than routine GP visits. If a referral leads to a specialist consultation or planned procedure at a private specialist clinic or hospital, confirm pre-authorisation with your insurer and request a written financial counselling estimate that clearly splits insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before proceeding. Skipping this step is the most common reason patients are surprised by their final bill.
