Singapore Citizens and PRs on the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) may be able to use MediSave to offset consultation and medication costs for listed conditions including hypertension, diabetes, and lipid disorders, within the S$500 or S$700 annual withdrawal limits. For conditions requiring specialist attention, the clinic can issue a referral letter to a public hospital Specialist Outpatient Clinic, which lowers the cost to S$30–80 per visit for subsidised patients versus S$120–250 for a direct private specialist walk-in.
To make an appointment, contact the clinic via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form listed on this page, and bring your NRIC, Integrated Shield Plan card, and a list of any current medications.
Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
Dr. Chua is one of the few doctors I’ve met who actually makes me feel assured, which is rare since I’ve always dreaded visiting clinics. However, what makes visits to this clinic truly unpleasant is the rude and condescending attitude of the staff at the counter. It’s unacceptable to be treated this way, especially when patients are polite and respectful. Before posting this review, I read through past reviews, and it seems this issue has persisted for years. I honestly don’t understand how there are any positive reviews regarding the staff. For comparison, I visited another clinic nearby recently where the staff, even when working alone, was friendly and professional. At Healthway Medical, is this the standard of training for staff - to be hostile toward patients and to chat and gossip loudly while on duty? On 2 occasions, the prescription instructions I received were incorrect, and when corrected, the staff merely edited the label without any apology. I don’t understand why the clinic continues to employ staff with such an attitude. Patients come here already feeling unwell; the last thing we need is to be treated disrespectfully. It’s a shame that while Dr. Chua is attentive and reassuring, the staff’s attitude is completely the opposite, making the overall experience frustrating.
Dr Chong is very good and detailed, been here many times. But the short hair front desk assistant is very rude. I told her I want to combine payment.. she screamed at me cannot do so.. Subsequently after I made the first payment, waiting to make second payment then she asked me what are you waiting for.. what are you talking about cannot combine payment. I juz made one payment only in the end..I think she worked until blurrrr.. Please.. if u don’t like ur job, just quit. Don’t throw temper to patients.. go find other job.
Dr Chong Bick Yew is hands down the most caring, detail-oriented and dedicated family doctor that I've ever seen. I've visited this clinic since I was a child! Waiting times can be long at the clinic, but her professional advice with a human touch makes it worth the wait.

GP consultation fees at private group clinics in Singapore typically run S$25–60 per visit, with the final figure depending on time of day, complexity, and any investigations ordered on the same visit. Common add-ons include blood tests (S$30–150 depending on panel), rapid diagnostic tests (S$15–40), X-rays, and prescriptions, each billed separately. For Singapore Citizens and PRs eligible for the Chronic Disease Management Programme, MediSave can offset outpatient costs up to S$500–700 per year. Patients with Integrated Shield Plans should check whether their policy covers outpatient GP visits, as many plans cover only inpatient or specialist care. GST applies on private medical consultations. See the full GP & 24-Hour Clinics cost guide for Singapore →
Every legitimate clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. No licence details were provided in this listing, so patients are advised to confirm the clinic's MOH licence directly before booking. Every practising doctor must be registered on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg — search by name to confirm registration status and any disciplinary history. Healthway Medical is a well-established group practice in Singapore, but confirming the individual consulting doctor's SMC entry at the time of your visit remains good practice, particularly if you are a new patient. Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life generally cover inpatient stays and day surgery at private hospitals, but outpatient GP coverage varies widely by plan and rider — check your specific policy before assuming a claim is possible. MediSave can be used for outpatient consultations and medication under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), covering listed conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, stroke, asthma, and COPD, up to S$500 per year (or S$700 for CDMP-enrolled patients). For any planned investigation or procedure, ask for a written estimate at the clinic that breaks down the consultation fee, investigation costs, and out-of-pocket portions clearly. Skipping this step is the most common reason patients are caught off guard by the final bill. If you are unsure whether a specific service is MediSave-claimable, the clinic's front desk can advise before the consultation begins.
