It is worth asking about the clinic's approach to treatment planning, the range of services offered (including whether cosmetic or orthodontic treatments are available), and the accepted payment methods. Medisave may be claimable for certain approved procedures such as surgical extractions and selected oral surgeries under the Flexi-Medisave or CHAS scheme for eligible Singapore Citizens and PRs. Patients with CHAS (Community Health Assist Scheme) cards should confirm accepted card tiers before booking.

I went there for a deep cleaning, and it was one of the best dental experiences I’ve had. Dr Ong is very patient and knowledgeable. He chats with you during the procedure and takes the time to help you understand any discomfort or pain. He never rushes to finish the treatment and makes sure you feel comfortable throughout. Highly recommended

No referral is required to book a routine dental consultation at Heartsland Dental (Hougang). For a first visit, expect to complete a brief medical history form covering any medications, allergies, and relevant systemic conditions (such as diabetes, heart conditions, or blood-thinning medication) that may affect dental treatment. For more complex concerns — such as implants, orthodontics, or oral surgery — the general dentist may carry out an initial assessment and then refer to a specialist, or complete treatment in-house depending on the clinic's scope. If you are planning to use insurance or Medisave, bring your insurance card and NRIC, and confirm coverage with both the insurer and the clinic before the appointment.
Dental practitioners in Singapore must be registered with the Singapore Dental Council (SDC) under the Dental Registration Act. This applies to both dentists and dental specialists. You can verify any dentist's registration on the SDC's public register at sdc.gov.sg before booking. Dental clinics operating as premises must also hold a valid clinic licence issued by the Ministry of Health (MOH). No regulatory licences have been listed for Heartsland Dental (Hougang) on this KakiList profile — contact the clinic directly to confirm the practitioner's SDC registration number and the clinic's MOH licence status before proceeding with treatment.
