About HL Family Clinic and Surgery Bedok
HL Family Clinic and Surgery Bedok is a general practice clinic located at 89 Bedok North Street 4, serving residents in the Bedok area and the broader east of Singapore. KakiList has verified the operating details and contact channel. The clinic holds a Google rating of 2.7 out of 5 across 71 reviews — a moderate sample size, though the below-average rating warrants attention before booking. No MOH Healthcare Services Licence or SMC practitioner registration details have been provided to KakiList at this time, so patients are advised to confirm these directly with the clinic. Pricing is positioned at the mid-range tier for a general practice setting.
For a first visit to a GP, patients typically walk in or call ahead to check queue length. A standard consultation covers symptom assessment, diagnosis, and prescription where appropriate. For patients managing chronic conditions under the Chronic Disease Management Programme — covering hypertension, diabetes, lipid disorders, asthma, and others — MediSave 500 or 700 outpatient withdrawal limits may apply, and it is worth confirming whether the clinic is a CDMP-accredited provider. Patients who require a specialist referral will receive a referral letter for either a public hospital Specialist Outpatient Clinic or a private specialist; the referral pathway affects both wait time and cost substantially. Integrated Shield Plan coverage does not typically extend to GP outpatient consultations, so most visits are self-pay.
To arrange a consultation, contact HL Family Clinic and Surgery Bedok by phone to confirm current operating hours and queue availability before making your way to the clinic.

Dr. Michael Chong, I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your exceptional care. Your consistent efforts to thoroughly investigate my symptoms, your attentiveness to my concerns, and your responsible approach to finding the right solution have truly made a difference. I appreciate how you take the time to explain everything and ensure I fully understand the plan moving forward. Your dedication to my well-being means a lot. Thank you for being such a caring and knowledgeable doctor
I am not sure about the credibility of the bad reviews posted so far. But HL Clinic has always been my go to clinic when I am down with something. The doctors are professional and nice, and the clinic staff are professional enough (sure they might not smile that often but they definitely do not scowl). The only bad experience I got was when there was a relief doctor a long time ago. Anyways, the queue system has also been improved. So definitely worth the trip down. Dr Ho and Dr Chong are professional and friendly too.
I have been with Dr Cheong from HL clinic for 30 over years .where ever they shifted it will be around bedok n Dr Cheong is a friendly person.
The nurse in specific Malissa is very rude and impatient. The first time I came to enquire of my booster shot, her respond was “If you haven’t make a booking online you don’t walk in” In a harsh tone. Secondly I came in to visit the doctor , I heard she shouted at one old woman to not sit near to the seats that I’m unsure of the reason. We were not informed about where to Q and she shouted at both me and my brother to Q at the appointed line. I mean she can talk to us nicely. If she doesn’t know how to handle pressure and talk to the patients politely or serve us with respect. I don’t think that she’s fit to be working under customer service line. I’m surprised that the clinic have such a Low rate of service and yet this one day lady just being rude to us. Please educate her some manners and if training on how to serve the patients are not provided, please assist her with it. It may not look good and it’s not a good impression at all for the clinic. Thank You
Dr Ho is very friendly and experienced. This clinic is not so bad at all. A bit crowded at peak hours.

GP consultations at private family clinics in Singapore typically run S$25–60 per visit, with the fee covering the consultation itself. Common add-ons billed separately include medications and prescriptions, which can add S$10–40 depending on the drugs dispensed, as well as any diagnostic tests such as a blood panel (S$60–200), swab tests, or urine tests. GST applies on private medical services. For patients on approved Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) conditions, MediSave withdrawal of up to S$500–700 per year is available for outpatient treatment — confirm with the clinic whether it participates in CDMP. HL Family Clinic and Surgery Bedok has not published a specific fee schedule with KakiList, so call ahead to confirm the current consultation rate before your visit. Every legitimate clinic in Singapore must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory online. Every practising doctor must also appear on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm their registration status, any specialist accreditation, and disciplinary history. HL Family Clinic and Surgery Bedok has not provided licence or practitioner registration details to KakiList. Before attending, search the MOH licensee directory for the clinic premises and the SMC register for the named doctor. Both checks take under five minutes and are the baseline verification every patient should perform at any private clinic. Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life generally do not cover standard GP outpatient consultations — they are primarily designed for inpatient stays and day surgery. For GP visits, most patients pay out of pocket. However, if you have a chronic condition listed under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), MediSave outpatient withdrawal limits of S$500 (individual) or S$700 (per account, for family use) per year may apply, provided the clinic is a registered CDMP provider. For any specialist referral arising from your GP consultation, confirm with your IP insurer whether pre-authorisation is required before attending the specialist — this avoids claim disputes after the fact. Patients who are Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents and hold a polyclinic or GP referral letter to a public hospital Specialist Outpatient Clinic will access subsidised rates of S$30–80 per visit, typically with a wait of four to twelve weeks for non-urgent appointments. Confirm CDMP participation and MediSave eligibility directly with HL Family Clinic and Surgery Bedok by phone before your visit.
