A GP consultation typically covers acute illness, minor injuries, medication review, referral letters for specialist care, and chronic disease follow-up under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which allows MediSave 500/700 withdrawals for listed conditions including hypertension, diabetes, and lipid disorders. Patients with Integrated Shield Plans should note that GP consultations are generally processed as outpatient claims subject to the plan's deductible and co-insurance rules. For non-urgent specialist care, a referral letter from the clinic can direct patients to a public hospital Specialist Outpatient Clinic at the subsidised rate of S$30–80 for Singapore Citizens, avoiding the S$120–250 first-consult fee at private specialists.
Contact HMI OneCare Clinic Hougang by phone or through the enquiry form to confirm current operating hours and same-day appointment availability before visiting.
Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
HMI OneCare Clinic Hougang Avenue 8 located at 681 Hougang Ave 8, S530681 Visited the clinic today and there are 6 patients infront of me and Doctor Jonathan Leong took average of 45min which i personally think is reasonable. Based on the reviews, I believe this is really true from what other have shared. As my left eyes, have sharp pain 1 week ago and after 1st consultation at the 1st clinic till now I have not recovered and today I visited Doctor Jonathan, seriously THUMB UP for him. He super detail on accessing, checking, asking important questions (haha my story was too long that he told me....Just answer the important question) ...importantly he is able to diagnose my issue and told me not to get worry is definitely not infection. Before I left he also suggest me to get influenza jab but because of my heavy job schedule, I'm worry that I will be down with fever and told him that I will be bad for the flu next month. Worth waiting and definitely....I will be back to the same clinic again. Thank you Dr Jonathan
Dr Jonathan is approachable and very professional on handling patients. However, the two ladies at the front desk, specially the fair-skinned lady with the Indian, is very sarcastic and rude when talking to patients. I asked about the corporate card for them to bill the invoice and she laughed at my face, making it seem like I asked a stupid question. I’m not willing to visit this clinic ever again. They seriously need an improvement on how they handle the patients at the front desk.
Was Dr. Asyik in a rush to leave work? Did he have to speak so fast? I didn't even have time to answer! I had a sore throat and a cold! He only asked if I had any other questions! I didn't even have time to answer before he rushed me out! When I got my medication, he only gave me throat lozenges! No anti-inflammatory or pain-relieving medication??? I still prefer Dr. Jonathan! He explains things patiently and cares about his patients!

A standard GP consultation at a private clinic in Singapore typically runs S$25–60, with after-hours or public-holiday visits carrying a surcharge. Common add-ons billed separately include blood panels (S$60–200), X-rays (S$80–150), urine tests, and prescription medications. GST applies on private medical services. Patients on the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) can use MediSave to offset outpatient bills — up to S$500 per year for general CDMP-listed conditions and S$700 per year for the expanded CDMP list. Integrated Shield Plan holders should check whether outpatient GP visits are covered under their rider before claiming. Contact the clinic directly to confirm its current fee schedule and whether it participates in any corporate or panel insurance arrangements. Every legitimate clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. No regulatory licences are currently listed for HMI OneCare Clinic Hougang in this directory, so patients should confirm the clinic's licence status directly with MOH before attending. Every practising doctor in Singapore is listed on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg. Search by the consulting doctor's name to confirm active registration, any specialist accreditation, and disciplinary history. Confirm both the clinic licence and the named doctor's SMC entry — neither alone is sufficient. If the clinic participates in CDMP or Screen for Life, MOH or PHPC registration would be an additional trust signal worth asking about.
MediSave can be used for outpatient treatment of CDMP-listed chronic conditions — up to S$500 per year under the standard withdrawal limit and S$700 per year for the expanded CDMP list covering conditions including hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, stroke, asthma, COPD, and selected mental health conditions. Routine acute GP visits (cough, fever, minor injuries) are generally not MediSave-claimable at the outpatient level. Integrated Shield Plans layered on MediShield Life typically cover inpatient stays and day surgery, but outpatient GP coverage depends on whether the plan includes a GP rider. Confirm with your insurer before the visit whether the consultation is claimable and whether pre-authorisation is needed. For any planned procedure or referral arising from the consultation, request a written financial counselling estimate that splits insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions — this avoids billing surprises downstream.
