About Hougang Family Dental
Hougang Family Dental is a dental clinic located at Hougang Capeview on Upper Serangoon View, serving patients across Singapore. It is KakiList-verified, meaning a real person confirmed its operating details and contact channel. The clinic holds a 4.7-star rating across 335 Google reviews, a robust sample that provides a reliable indication of patient experience. No regulatory licences are listed in the KakiList record, so prospective patients should confirm the consulting dentists' registration with the Singapore Dental Council directly before booking.
Patients typically begin by calling the clinic or submitting an enquiry via the contact form to check appointment availability and describe their presenting concern — whether a routine check-up and scaling, a toothache, a chipped tooth, or a cosmetic consultation. At the first visit, the dentist will conduct an oral examination and may take X-rays to assess underlying issues before discussing a treatment plan and associated fees. Enquire upfront about CHAS, Medisave, or company insurance coverage for applicable procedures, as accepted schemes vary by clinic and procedure type.
To book an appointment, contact Hougang Family Dental by phone or through the online enquiry form on their listing, and confirm the scope and estimated cost of your visit before attending.
Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
Really happy with my experience here. The dentist (Dr Chuah) is very knowledgeable and explains things clearly, so you know exactly what’s going on. She works efficiently (fast and good) without compromising on the quality of her service. Her charges are fair and reasonable, no hard selling and no funny extra costs. You can really tell she cares about doing a good job and not just finishing quickly. Overall, all my visits have been smooth and comfortable. If you’re looking for a dentist who is reliable, skilled, and charges reasonably, I think you’ll be very satisfied here.
The dentist is extremely friendly and my son absolutely loves her. The clinic has a TV screen, which is a great distraction for kids during treatment. She even blew a glove balloon for him afterward. Overall, I highly recommend this dental clinic, especially for children.
Dr Chuah is very gentle and I had a painless surgery extraction 2 weeks ago.. I like when she ask if I'm OK every moment.. Staffs is accommodating, really happy. Strongly recommended..
Dentist was late for quite a while. The whole session felt like dentist need to keep upselling. I don’t mind paying but he should tell me that my toothache might come from my recent flu recovery . Because dentist said we don’t know what is wrong we have to take a xray . I only know it cost $110 when I saw the bill. I was informed of the gel that cost $40. I am ok with that . And some medicine which cost abt $28 I’m fine with that as well. So I did scaling and polishing, gel and took x ray my dentist visit cost close to $400 for a simple dental check up.
The dentist has been very helpful in identifying my dental issues and explained how to address it. The staffs are also very nice and accommodating. Thanks.

Dental fees in Singapore vary by procedure. A routine consultation and examination typically runs S$30–80, professional scaling and polishing S$80–200, a single tooth filling S$80–250 depending on material (composite or amalgam), a straightforward extraction S$80–200, and a root canal S$600–1,500+ per tooth. X-rays are usually billed separately at S$20–80 per film. GST applies to dental procedures. Patients holding CHAS cards (Blue, Orange, or Pioneer/Merdeka) may be entitled to subsidised rates at participating clinics — confirm with Hougang Family Dental whether they are a CHAS-accredited provider. Some Medisave-claimable procedures (such as surgical extractions and certain oral surgery) may be partially offset subject to CPF Board limits. See the full dental cost guide for Singapore →
No referral is required to visit a general dental clinic — you can book directly by phone or via the contact form. At the first appointment, the dentist will carry out an oral examination, review your dental history, and may take diagnostic X-rays before recommending a treatment plan. This initial assessment helps establish what procedures are needed and in what order. If you have a complex condition — such as advanced gum disease, impacted wisdom teeth requiring surgical extraction, or a need for orthodontic or implant treatment — the clinic may refer you to a specialist at a polyclinic or restructured hospital, or to a specialist dental practice. It is useful to bring any recent dental X-rays or records from a previous provider to avoid duplication.
All dentists practising in Singapore must be registered with the Singapore Dental Council (SDC) under the Dental Registration Act. You can verify any dentist's registration — including name, registration number, and any conditions on practice — on the SDC's public online register at sdc.gov.sg before your appointment. Dental clinics must also hold an MOH clinic licence under the Healthcare Services Act. No regulatory licences are currently listed in Hougang Family Dental's KakiList record. Prospective patients are advised to confirm the names and SDC registration numbers of the consulting dentists directly with the clinic before proceeding with treatment. Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
