Families typically begin by reaching out via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to discuss level and syllabus fit — whether that is the MOE primary or secondary curriculum, IP, IGCSE, or another track. From there, it is worth asking about group tuition versus one-to-one sessions, the availability of a trial class, and whether lessons are held at the Novena centre or conducted online. Term commitment expectations and any materials fees should also be clarified before enrolment.
To take the next step, contact illum.education directly through WhatsApp or the enquiry form to confirm subject availability, class size, and scheduling options, and to arrange a trial class before committing to a term.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
After taking GP lessons at Illume, I felt much more confident when doing the papers and had a better understanding of how to tackle the questions that seemed tricky at first. Ms Zeqin has been incredibly patient and helpful, always ready to help me go through my work and provide detailed, constructive feedback. She’s also very supportive and friendly, and I really enjoyed her GP lessons :))
I’ve had a very positive experience at illum.e tuition for English. The lessons were well-structured, and the resources provided were extremely useful, especially for improving my writing and comprehension skills. They really helped me understand how to answer questions effectively. With the guidance of Mr Andre, I was able to improve my grades and eventually achieve a distinction in my O-level English. He is a patient and dedicated teacher who gives clear explanations and constructive feedback that genuinely helps students improve. I’m very grateful for his support and would highly recommend illum.e tuition!
Mr Liew is a really experienced and dedicated teacher who genuinely cares about his students. He would always take the time to give me feedback outside of class. During lessons, he’d check in whenever he noticed I was struggling. With his guidance, I went from getting an S in my gp promos to an A in my A Levels!
Mr Ivan is the most amazing History and SS teacher! History and Social Studies used to be my worst and most dreaded subjects. When my parents suggested a trial class with Illum.e after receiving my dismal sec 3 eoy results for his/ss, I was very hesitant because I’d already tried tuition before and was still barely passing. But after just one trial lesson with Mr Ivan, everything changed. For the first time, I actually understood the content . More than that, I enjoyed the lesson and felt so encouraged, so I asked my parents to sign me up straight away. Under Mr Ivan's teaching, heavy topics were no longer daunting, but interesting and easy to absorb, even for a "hopeless case" like me. He helped me to understand and apply specific techniques for each question type, and showed me how to structure my answers clearly. With ample in class practices under Mr Ivan's guidance, my understanding and skill improved by leaps and bounds. He is extremely patient, and his guidance and encouragement really boosted my confidence. I went from barely getting by in Sec 1–3 to scoring an A2 for History/SS in my O‑Levels! I'm really grateful to Mr Ivan for all his help and encouragement. If you're struggling with History or Social Studies, I’d definitely recommend him! - Yohan
I signed up my son, Jaydon for Humanities classes with Illum.e some time in Oct 2024 in preparation for o levels in 2025. His humanities results before starting with illume was C5. He took the classes for history and social science under Mr Ivan Ann . According to Jaydon, Ivan was able to piqued the students interest. His classes were never boring. On the contrary, it was interesting, entertaining and interactive. He was always available for any clarifications. My son very much enjoyed the classes and his grades improved. He got a B4 for prelims and to our pleasant surprise, he scored an A2 for O levels. Ivan is not just a teacher but a friend that the students can approach. Even after his results, Jaydon was able to consult him to get views on the various JCs and he gladly helped to provide his inputs. Thank you to Illum.e and Mr Ivan for his guidance and helping Jaydon build his confidence and worked towards and achievied a distinction in Humanities.

illum.education displays a mid-range price tier, though specific per-session or monthly figures are not publicly listed and should be confirmed directly with the provider. Pricing in the Singapore private tuition market typically varies by format: one-to-one sessions generally command a higher rate than group classes, and fees may be structured as a per-session rate, a monthly package, or a term commitment. It is also worth asking whether a trial class carries a separate fee, whether consumables or printed materials are charged additionally, and whether sibling or multi-subject discounts apply. Many tuition providers in Singapore offer a trial class — either at a reduced rate or folded into the first month's fee — so it is reasonable to ask illum.education whether this option is available before signing up for a full term. During a trial session, look for whether the pace and level match your child's current standing, how the tutor responds to questions and mistakes, and whether your child appears engaged rather than passive. These signals matter more than a polished first impression. If a trial class is offered, use it to confirm syllabus alignment and teaching style before making any term commitment or payment.
Specific tutor credentials for illum.education are not listed in the available provider data. When enquiring, it is worth asking directly about the tutors' educational background, whether any hold NIE training or prior MOE teaching experience, the number of years they have been teaching the relevant subject, and their familiarity with the specific syllabus your child is following — whether MOE, IP, IGCSE, IB, or another track. For subjects with major national examinations such as PSLE, O Levels, or A Levels, also ask whether tutors are familiar with recent marking schemes and syllabus revisions. Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
